Driver Trapped After Crashing Into Tow Truck | Glendale, AZ

- 06.12.2022 | 02:00 AM | GLENDALE, AZ - Fire crews from the cities of Phoenix and Glendale responded to reports of a vehicle collision with one victim trapped shortly after 2:00 AM at the intersection of 59th Avenue and Camelback Road.
Upon arrival crews found a minivan that had crashed into the back of a flatbed tow truck stopped at a red light.
The male driver was alert and conscious but pinned inside the van.
Firefighters requested additional resources to assist with extensive extrication efforts.
Crews extracted the patient who was the handed over to Maricopa Ambulance medics for transport.
The victim was transported to a local trauma center in stable condition.
Glendale Police are currently investigating the incident.
It is unknown at this time whether DUI is a factor. No other injuries have been reported.

Lots of distracted drivers or DUI. Running into tow trucks, semis, buses, garbage trucks, heavy equipment. Need to install a "KYAGB" app on these cell phones. 1 millisecond before the crash your phone says "Kiss Your Ass Good Bye".

This is another prime example of why there is a law for slowing down and moving over I mean this is different circumstances but still slow down pay attention move over when you see us and other people working on side of the roads we want to come home to our families as much as you do

Had someone rear end us while at a stop sign and we were in the biggest U-haul there is. He was in his mother's car and admitted her was texting.
He was probably flummoxed that not only has the bus stop been moved, the city spent money on a road sign advising as much.

@Daniel Pacheco That is something a psychopath would say. Of course there is sin, but you are right, we have free will to sin or not. There are consequences , here and when we die for sin. We can also accept Jesus as our savior (the remedy for sin) or reject Him. The consequences of that is spending eternity in hell. Your choice.

There’s probably several good reasons why they didn’t remove him via the passenger side..
#1… look at the impact damage.. the vehicle is totaled..
#2…. Based on #1 … the driver may or may have back or neck injuries, it’s evident he’s in pain…
#3… most vehicles have center consoles, lifting an injured driver over that console would most certainly aggravate the injuries..
They have to remove the wreckage that has trapped his body and they must do it from the side that caved in on him. Even if they were on the other side of the van the damage on the left side has the driver pinned in.
