LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA - Four people were transported from a major crash near DTLA. A speeding Dodge Charger crashed with a trailer at the intersection of Witmer & Wilshire. The truck dragged the car with the victims stuck inside about 100 yards before coming to a stop. LAPD was a witness and possibly involved per scanner traffic. LAFD freed the trapped victims using the Jaws of Life. The driver was transported with critical injuries, the other three in serious condition.

As someone who had my catalytic converter cut off my truck few years ago, I have no sympathy for those scumbags. The truck driver was the real victim.
And the car.
Let's see .. inanimate object (catalytic converter) VS. human lives .. and we as a society choose the inanimate object (that can be replaced) as what is most important. Yes, having something of ours that has been stolen sucks balls, but if it was me they stole from, I would just want them caught, .. I'd without a heart beat trade my catalytic converter so not to see even a thief suffer in pain.

Well, the real issue is that they chose to drive recklessly and put civilians at risk. 1 second earlier, and the driver of the truck could've been killed. It's surprising that they all managed to get out of the car with their lives, especially the two in the front.
I feel bad for the truck driver. He's the real victim here.

My Dad was a semi truck driver and loved his job. One day an intoxicated lady hit him head on, not knowing how bad he was hurt due to shock, he managed to get out and tend to her and removed her from the car....she died instantly and my dad was off work for 9 months recuperating with a life long back injury. My dad never wanted to talk about it so we didn't...due to her stupidity she lost her life and injured another. Some people never learn or end up learning the hard way....😢

My aunts husband ran under a semi, headed back to base when cars were made of much better materials, and he did not survive. These people have someone's prayers following them.
Only a mom's prayer and tears can save fools like that. I hope they realize the pain and destruction they caused. I pray they turn their lives around.
Cars were made of better materials I agree but when it comes to safety the modern cars are much safer with their airbags and crumple zones....having said that I still prefer driving my 1970s ford compared to my daily driver.

My uncle was a truck driver going through Grapevine, and this happened, but with a Volkswagen Beetle, four young people, were deceased, he was never the same

My husband and I were driving a semi and were stopped at a light. We felt an impact to the wheel of our truck then saw a BW bug flying over the car sitting next to us slowly turning upside down. It landed in the center of an intersection and two beautiful young girls were hanging upside down in their seatbelts, dead. I literally became very sick.

Now, the only thing nice about SoCal is the climate. Even then, there are yearly wildfires and until recently, prolonged drought. It's just a pity the way the state has gone.
