😂😂😂 Don't think for a moment Matt that if you had the size garage we do that it would not fill up and become a symptom of the problem as well. Hoarding is a illness just like alcoholism or severe depression. If you hoard,, you will do it in a small space or a large space. You will fill up whatever space you have. I am not saying you are a hoarder. just pointing out that certain folks on RUclips are hoarders and they keep stuff because of many reasons. I might need that someday is their comfort phrase to help them feel secure for whatever reason behind the hoarding. All that said. I totally agree that in the UK space is limited I don't know what the whole of the UK is equivalent to the US but it is very small compared to a lot of our states. And here in the US we aren't all organized. For example, I have the same problem as you. I buy or find the bins to put stuff in to organize this and move over here and so on. But then I get another pick up or find something else to "collect." It is just a universal problem. It is consumer society and wanting security batteling with each other. I've talked enough, but want you to understand. Collecting is a symtom not the disease. CHeers, Take care with much love, L
@@Man-in-da-shed LOL. I'll newver tell. Haha! You know who I mean. I don't know why you hoard stuff, just know that I care about you and support you. You are a dear. Take care. I also want to mention that my mother was a hoarder and I know how hard it is to say no and say yes to giving things up. I lived with it my whole 18 years of living with her.
You'll get it sorted pal, one section at a time & it'll soon be cleared👍. At least you've got the scrap, the streets are lean up my way, not much out there 😕
As from your latest video this is another form of stress lol my shed is the same as fast as I break stuff down I have more to fill it up took me weeks just to see my bench to work on lol I feel for you matt i know the struggle 😅
It's an absolute nightmare, I understand where you are coming from. But as your shed gets clearer you worry about not having enough scrap. It's a lose, lose situation.
LOL I feel as if I should do a video response to this and show you my garage AKA "Poosworld". Shouldn't laugh, I know how you feel, it just gets so over-whelming and you just don't know where to start. I am a hoarder, it is a terrible affliction and for me, I know where it stems from. All I need to say is "It's my stuff and nobody is going to take it away from me". You'll probably understand my reason. Thing is, for me, it is perpetuated by circumstances in my life that I have no control over. I am stuck right now but at least I have some understanding of the hows and whys and I do believe that one day I will be in control. Good luck with making a start, take care, Poo
Bigger garages in the USA, if you have collecting hobbies, just means more “stuff”. I personally think, chuck most all things that you use less than once or twice a year. I have serving dishes for holidays.... they are going. My family thinks the food taste the same on my everyday dish ware.
What I have decided to do over the next few months is sell anything and everything I can possibly sell, give the rest to charity. I found the more possessions you have the more responsibilty and stress. I'd be quite happy living in the woods but it's illegal over here.
That is how I originally got fitter. It took me 2 years to learn to walk again. I was given 3 months to live in September 2016. So 2 years later I started to walk, for months, then I bought the bike to get my leg muscles stronger. I alternated between the 2 and slowly got fitter. Unfortunately I'm back in that position, learn to walk then the bike again. I'll get there. My ambition or target next year, is to walk from Lands End in Cornwall to John o'Groat's in Scotland, the most southerly point to the most northerly. It's an extremely famous walk, made famous in the late 1800's. It's about 1000 miles, dependant upon your route. That would work out, roughly 1740 km, I think? People usually complete it within 90 days. Before that I want to climb the 15 peaks of Wales,, the last being Snowdonia. That's the plan, if any charity wants money raised they are welcome to ask. Being as Mad as I am. The year after I would love to cycle the East coast of America to the West, the furthest points. I can't remember how far it is, but it would be an experience. I don't set my goals too high do I?...lol. You are very welcome to clean my garage from top to toe, it definitely needs it that's for sure. Thank you Michelle. Matt.
Yeah, the time to clear out when you have chronic illnesses, is exhausting and consumes more energy reserves than I have so I’ve lost on multiple levels. The last six years have thinned down my energy to very minimal. How about you? Has the value of your time increased while the value of your stuff decreased with the HM?
That's interesting you say that. My time is very limited now what I can and can't do. When I have good days I go hell for leather to make the most of the time but it curbs your life in so many ways. I try and find a balance but each day is different. It is frustrating.
🤣 this wasn’t a rubbish video..You just have a little bit of rubbish🤣.. when we get a little overwhelmed with stuff We have cleanup days where we stop breaking things down and start cleaning up… Just take it one thing at a time one day run your plastic next day do your cans next day do your steel before long I’ll be tidied up have a great day Matt thank you👊🏻
I've just been shocked by tje amount of plastic that comes out of these items. It's ridiculous. I'll steadily get it done and I'll have a better system in place next time.
@@madmattsbucketlist385 brother you’ve been through so much as of lately.. give yourself a break.. you’ll get it done you had a ton of drive and I have the utmost confidence in you👊🏻

Lol Matt, coming from experience, there’s only one way to eat an elephant, and that’s one bite full at a time. Me sheds full cos I collect everything, it’ll come in handy sometime 😂
There were moments in this video where I laughed my head off. "Look at all those cans. What am I gonna do, cut them up?" Great video Matt.

I want to know when you are going on that bike ride. I see a bike. I’m a cleaner, I’d have a hay day in there.
