Herm and Smoke in the same video, what a day! Congratulations Tony. Understandable that you guys couldn't say exactly what you may have wanted to and that is a shame. What happened to freedom of speech in this country. Is NASCAR worried about the truth of things coming out? It seems that everyone involved in the racing circle, from teams/drivers, to the fans talking about situations that happen, there are no secrets. Is it about someone getting to pocket a couple of $100K of easy money? Does NASCAR have their head buried that far up their exhaust pipe? Any how, we still love racing. Like you guys said, let's get over the ridiculous penalties.
Excellent interview! Loved the conversation between two real racers! I was actually at the Prelude when you won Kenny. I totally wish Tony would bring it back. I love the dirt!
I've always thought that the NFL higher-ups are thin-skinned regarding taking criticism from the players, coaches and owners. The higher-ups of NASCAR are worse.
Some love him and some hate him but Tony Stewart is honest as the day is long. He has earned respect in the sport and will always be a champion on the track and in life. Love you Smoke✌️
Kenny and Tony.. what more could you want from a race fan's perspective.. I am an Australian and I saw Tony at the start of his career when he came down under and raced Midget race cars.. he was the same Tony then as he is today.. Tony and Kenny are the true 'soul' of Nascar and Dirt track racing..
Remember when Nascar changed lug nut rules, and a reporter asked Tony about it. Tony answered the question honestly and professionally. Nascar FINED him $35k. THEN a week or so later Nascar changed the rule back to before.
Good content Herm! Utmost respect for Tony and his opinion. It’s a shame NASCAR management has deteriorated to the point it has. Too much micro-management in the wrong places.
AMEN.... I wish the fans would do a TOTAL BOYCOTT... no TV and nobody at the track.... they would change what they are doing in heartbeat... but until fans grow some balls and act.... its all talk... its to be all action and less talk... it would only take a couple of weeks of a completely empty track to get them to do a 180... BUT, fans just let the carnage continue...
Well said Tony. Props to Kenny for bringing this to light. Give the engine back the horsepower! The cars are supposedly safer than they’ve ever been but they aren’t. Fans want to see the speed and good racing not how many screws are in so and so’s windshield and all of the other technicalities that is drowning the sport these days
That's more complicated than just NASCAR deciding to increase the horsepower. You've got them manufacturers like Toyota that doesn't want that and let's say NASCAR's going after Honda there's no damn way Honda wants a 900 horsepower push rod V8
What if they just capped fuel and tire width? Keep a set number of tires. Spec the chassis, transaxle, suspension, and brakes. Then let the manufacturers do what they want.
For the last 15 years NASCAR has done EVERYTHING in their power to drive me away from the sport. After 40 years being involved in the sport and as a fan they have succeeded. I probably won't watch a cup race ever again. Thanks again NASCAR
Best interview ever. Nascar problem is it became to much corporate. And still think they reeling back when they left alot of those old tracks in the south years ago.
NASCAR has alienated some fans lately. I'm a diehard fan, so I'm not going anywhere soon, but some of the moves they've made have upset more than a couple of people I know. Thanks Herm. One thing about Smoke, he's honest.
Good interview. The unvarnished opinion. I used to not like Tony Stewart because his sponsor Home Depot was a direct competitor to my business. But nowadays I think he is Grrrrrrrrreat!!!
Love your show and love Smoke. I think a new show should form. The Kenny & Smoke Show. We debullshit like nobody else. Hell put that on TV right after NASCAR Race Hub. Oh YEAH!!!
Same thing happens at local tracks each week.. I was on a race team we dq after a win because we got in a wreck on the last lap and folded the front tire over lowering the ride height. 3 days later after arguments they gave us the win because they never inspected the ride height before the race lol😂
So .... perhaps the owners and NASCAR should have simply put a composite body on the old car. They could have agreed to a build that encompassed the best practices without designing a totally new car.
Tony nailed it with sports car company making cup cars. Ironically they aren’t even as good to watch at road courses anymore as the old cars were. They are faster but the racing isn’t as good
Hope Nascar opens their decisions to debate among the owners and changes how Teams and drivers communicate with them. They need each other’s support to survive
The inspection system they have now is definitely fine I understand they want a level playing field even I called for it at times but it's the penalties lately that are getting out of hand for very little, tiny things that don't even affect or benefit the cars performance at all. I don't have an issue with The Stages in the sport, but we all can agree they need to lose the cautions in between keep the race going like they did at COTA and with the other road courses they're going to do this with. - The Cars certainly still need work to get better on track for the drivers and the fans like more Horsepower is definitely needed when there's races where we see too much follow the leader and little passing for the lead and stuff, Lose the Shifting there's too much of that with this car save it for only restarts and for places like Pocono and Indy places like that. Another thing we want Victory Lane Interviews back not this Front Straightway stuff we get these days. - We also definitely need to get back to having Practice Sessions like we use to have even some of the drivers want that - They need to market their drivers, talent and sponsors too like they use to back in the day also that's another thing they've gotten away from in recent years
You're 100% right about the penalties like with NASCAR getting unhappy but Hendrick Motorsports won it's appeal and decided to take the 24 and 48 and try to find anything and to find out that it was just a screw cut good loard. With the RCR penalty I waiting to find out if they accidentally left some bolts out of the pan or exactly what they did
This is on point...... Hendrick did absolutely nothing wrong, and this is a classic example of micromanagement at its finest. This is not the sport that I grew up watching, and I'm not saying that we need to go back to the good ol days, but common sense has to be restored....
Dale jr said it best: he said he could talk about nascar and complain but when an outsider says something its like hey watch your mouth dude your talking about my family!! (he meaning all the people that are TRUE fans! nice job kenny!
Im slowly interest in Nascar and i never thought id say that. Their taking the sport out of racing they are making people not wanna go to races. Great video guys.
Same here. I’m using iRacing as a way to hang on but even my enjoyment for that is declining, I can’t even watch most of the races without playing on my phone or fall asleep now.
The work Cleetus Macfarland is doing at the Freedom Factory down in Florida is the answer. He provides the cars! Drivers show up and its some of the best racing I have seen in years. The potential this guy has. I am waiting for the first sponsorship for individual cars. Maybe Kenny and Tony could make a call. 100 bucks Ole Cleetus finds a couple more Crown Vicks for you two in SECONDS.
There was always people that freely spoke their mind. Rusty, Dale, Parsons, take your pick. Then there was Herm and Tony! Not only DID you guys say what you had to say but you did it with a stick in hand 😂 It's not that way in racing anymore, plus the government, news outlets, and social media are also censoring people. Sad days! I quit watching Nascar when they went to a common body the first time. I understand the cost savings aspect but there are other ways and also ways to make less funded teams able to compete. There are no brands to align yourself with just stickers on a body. Kenny, brother, I'm glad I found your stuff on RUclips! It's a breath of fresh air by a great host! I'm a huge Rusty fan and also a fan of yours! That interview you did with Stapleton42 telling all the old stories was great! Tony is a racer's racer 🤘 I admire the time and effort you have spent racing in all forms. I was thrown for a loop when NHRA was announced! Never would I have seen that coming. I've never been to a dirt race but I should do that. Good luck in all your adventures!
betting has influenced sports more than we understand. Every critical call or no call in a Super Bowl, the NCAA Championship, NBA finals, and now even NASCAR raises all kinds of questions about the integrity of the officials involved.
Hey Kenny and tony I'm on my woman's account lol and this conversation is nothing but the truth I miss all you guys that I grew up watching I'm 28 years old. I grew up in Ronda NC and I was apart of helping with North wilkesboro speedway back in 210 and the other few years it was open for a little and I'm happy that Dale did what he did get it back and running but the bullshit part is I don't get to see you legends in the cup cars at North wilkesboro only why that track is still hyped for me is because it's history and Dale and my old neighbor junior Johnson
All about self preservation. And their bottom dollar.fully took NASCAR that I knew somewhere nobody knows.Saddened by this.Haven’t been or seen a so called NASCAR race in years cause of this as well.Playoffs? absolutely was never meant to be a pro ball game. It’s racing.Just an older dogs opinion.God bless the founders of once a great sport of auto racing.Tony Stewart is spot on.Such another rare soul.
Thank you gentlemen enjoyed your input learned so much. The betting aspect Hmm… gave me something think about. Luv the “De BS” line lol Nascar I miss old school days driver educate and ethics mattered. Each team would look for ways to gain speed and safety the guidelines for passing inspection were so different. You were able change the cars somewhat now every car is identical if I wanted watch Indy I would. Maybe I’m just old either way the sport has changed and not for the better just how I feel. Find myself watching dirt races on Flo enjoying the hell out of it! Just missing the smell of that first hot lap. Thanks again
For 20 years after "The Split", I'd get the "What was IndyCar thinking" questions that were pretty valid. They seem to have subsided in the last few years, but back in the day, it was a constant soap opera.
Kenny - you have the best interviews out there, man. Keep up the good work. I love it when you put in little asterisk comments like "people in the south call their dads daddy". We need to continue to inform the current audience of young and old about the past in today's term - if that makes sense. Thank you and Smoke. NASCAR screwed up when they decided to have homogenous cars for all teams. I want to watch a race where there has boundaries and guidelines that 3, 4, or 5 manufacturers (for me ideally American manufacturers, but even then they are not "built in America"), compete. I don't want a Ford and Chevrolet competing that just have a blue oval and a bowtie painted on or wrapped. I want a Mustang to be a Mustang and Camaro to be a Camaro competing. I want a stock car to be a stock car.
Wellllllll, heavy lies the crown 👑…. “ often those who speak of the problems, created said problems.” What are YOU as a fan doing negatively, or positively to impact the sport…? 👀
That's why I left after bubbles big lie and how Nascar basically called us razist fans. Haven't seen a race since. I just heard about Tony's comment on bubbles. About Laying him out.
The problem with NASCAR is that they've gotten away from the grass roots and commercialized the sport to the point that all we have now are vanilla drivers! Good or bad, we all LOVE the guys and the emotions from them good or bad! When Harvick and the Bush brothers retire, who will be the "bad boys" of NASCAR? I dont meant that comment hatefully! I just think NASCAR has jumped the shark !
Stopped watching every race in 2017 after Jr retired. I still watch Daytona and Talladega, cuz i can't not watch them. I follow you and the DJD and that's about it these days.
Tony is a world class driver. In all disciplines of racing. F1, indy, outlaws, nascar, all of them. I listen to him. Kenny is one of the best interviewers.
As a local short track racer and supporter myself, racing in general will never go away but organizations can go away and nascar is not omitted from this. If Dale jr., Smoke, etc. decides to start another racing sanctioning body that can 100% compete against nascar then sign me up to participate since they both know what stock car racing should be about and should be run like. From 2010 to now, nascar has been another form of cancel culture to the fans, drivers, and the owners. Two can play that game and nascar is going to lose the war with the fans, drivers, and owners...look at what happened to Bud Light in whole
There is a resurgence in local short track racing and there are new formats for amature drag racing bringing a resurgence in that sport and yet NASCAR in decline
As a dirt track driver,I use to love Nascar, But since 2020 NASCAR has in my opinion went down hill fast, Fan's are not happy, Every year my entire family of 11 buy the VIP tickets for every NASCAR race pre order,We booked our motels a year in advance we loved it, Last year and this one only got the Daytona tickets and left halfway through
@@jeremyreedtrucking.7053Even though they were two wide the whole race and jockeying for position? Martinsville had the most green flag passes since like 2015.
This is why I like Stewart, he's not afraid to speak his mind and he only brings these things up because he wants the best for the sport. Personally, there's too much broken with it for me to watch it again, but I still try to keep up with driver/owner opinions, and race results, and I hold out hope that one day what's broken will be fixed again and I can find enjoyment in watching NASCAR again.
Well... I'm not an owner and I can say it.. NASCAR has gone woke and that France crowd needs to sit down, shut up and let racers race. NASCAR needs the racers and teams... The racers and teams don't need NASCAR.
Some of you guys aren't even listening to what Tony's saying. He's not bashing the sport he clearly said multiple times he still loves NASCAR and is very passionate about he just feels there are some mistakes that are being made and is room for improvement. Which I personally feel is the same case for any sports team or League or business in general. That's why I like Tony he's very passionate and opinionated but is always Fair
He even said that on the Dale Jr download especially when he knows so many people think just because he's not at the track all the time that he isn't interested in a course they blame that on the performance of SHR that he isn't at the track
I was fortunate to grow up in a racing family. Got a chance to race dirt for a few years. Still enjoy watching dirt racing. Nascar came to AZ was fortunate enough to see the first race here. Been watching Nascar since then. Last few years Nascar has become another sport not to watch. Got better things to do than watch some boring corporate run dog and pony show. The different personalities is what made it fun to watch in person or TV. Now they can't speak their mind or they get their hand smacked. Let's get back to racing and stop the bs. Let the drivers speak their minds. Until they pull their respective heads out of their asses I will continue to find better things to do.
If NASCAR truly wants to improve and grow the sport, they MUST listen to their car owners and drivers, otherwise they loose the owners, drivers and sponsors.
Well, we have always known this thing with NASCAR has been going on forever, but now, its all way over the top, and like Tony said, it is so transparent what they do it is beyond ridiculous. This is why a lot of the fans are going away, besides a lot of other issues, which are namely the state of the "product" we currently are seeing. I get why owners asked for what we now have, but that is a double edge sword. In many cases it has created some pretty bad racing in a lot of cases. It also creates a lot of frustrated drivers that loose their nugget out there a lot of times and we end up with high dollar bumper cars. Pair that up with bad decisions by nascar during races, and the whole Judge Dredd "i am the law" BS they pull with penalties , it's become a shit show, and it's sad. I guess nascar thinks a lot of us fans out here just fell off the turnip truck and can't see things for what they really are. That's what pisses me off the most, insulting our intelligence isn't the way to keep and /or expand your fan base. I try to ignore that drama, and just enjoy good racing. But that isn't what we have right now. The "product" just isn't that fun to watch anymore like it used to be. I shouldn't have to try so hard to love what was once so natural to me to love. I find myself you tubing around and watching lots of "lower tier" racing, dirt, etc from all over the country. Why? it's a much better "product" and more enjoyable to watch for me. No stupid penalties, no rule changes constantly, no stupid endless drama every week on who got their pee pee smacked this week by the mother ship that is more often than not for political reasons than anything else. If you find yourself having to try so hard to love someone or something that was once a natural thing for you, it means it just isn't working out anymore for you and its time to kick that bitch to the curb and move on. I think that's what a lot of fans have been doing in recent years due to the current state of the "product", and all the BS drama created by the mother ships bad and ugly moves. Sad as hell.
Couldn't agree with you more. Other reasons my interest has diminished : These are not stock cars by any stretch of the imagination. The races used to be endurance races for cars and drivers. The new cars may be what's good for the owners but not for the race fans. Boring. I'm not sure who the audience is that NASCAR is aiming for but it's becoming clear to me that it's not me. I do have to say I like the road races

Tony you have enough influence to start a new stock car organization. And I mean STOCK CAR RACING.
Jr’s a NASCAR PUPPET.
It’s called late model stocks. Lmao
@@Goosemaster1810 srx…… lol
In my opinion This is the interview of the year. Love both you guys.
Every Friday I ask my lady you want to get dirty. We go to dirt track in Travelers Rest. Most times.
I still remember when the only racing league with identical cars was the IROC series. Return NASCAR to run what you brung and let the fastest car win.
IROC had some great racing!
In NASCAR the cars are not identical They have brand identity get f****** educated
I've always thought that the NFL higher-ups are thin-skinned regarding taking criticism from the players, coaches and owners. The higher-ups of NASCAR are worse.
Great interview Kenny! Tony is good for Motorsports! Thanks for the video 😎👍
Too much micro-management in the wrong places.
micro management is the way corporations are run today.the woke have taken over.
We *THE FANS* can make nascar go the same way as bud light !!!
I’ve been saying this for so long. The fans are in control. We don’t have to take this crap they are giving us
Met Kenny and Tony at Berlin raceway in Michigan. Love them both . Two real boys enjoying life.
For the last 15 years NASCAR has done EVERYTHING in their power to drive me away from the sport. After 40 years being involved in the sport and as a fan they have succeeded. I probably won't watch a cup race ever again. Thanks again NASCAR
I’d like to see Tony’s SRX series take off.
Awesome interview Herm👍
Best interview ever. Nascar problem is it became to much corporate. And still think they reeling back when they left alot of those old tracks in the south years ago.
I agree 100%. If it passes before the race, leave it alone. Nascar is screwing themselves. Consistent at being inconsistent
So you support NASCAR starting pre race inspection like Monday to do a detailed inspection?
NASCAR has alienated some fans lately. I'm a diehard fan, so I'm not going anywhere soon, but some of the moves they've made have upset more than a couple of people I know.
Thanks Herm. One thing about Smoke, he's honest.
Alienated some fans ? That's being polite . :)
Rusty paid a fine in pennies, everytime he went to the pits, they threw a caution, bingo, a lap down.
Kenny you and Tony are awesome
Good interview. The unvarnished opinion.
I used to not like Tony Stewart because his sponsor Home Depot was a direct competitor to my business. But nowadays I think he is Grrrrrrrrreat!!!
Love your show and love Smoke. I think a new show should form.
The Kenny & Smoke Show. We debullshit like nobody else. Hell put that on TV right after NASCAR Race Hub. Oh YEAH!!!
Just like OSHA or DOT. They won't stop looking until they find something wrong then they'll bust you for it.
All they needed was a new 1.5 package and a composite body and a little more hp on the old car, boom! Gen 7!
Good stuff Kenny 👍🏼 Get Kevin on some time too. Good to hear from Smoke and his unbiased owner opinion
Tony nailed it with sports car company making cup cars. Ironically they aren’t even as good to watch at road courses anymore as the old cars were. They are faster but the racing isn’t as good
Bingo
This was a great chat. A lot of people don’t like how limited the adjustments are that teams can make
Time for the teams to get together and boycott a big race and take control back!
Very enlightening interview. Thank you Herman and Smoke both. Damn shame
Debris cautions...! Ugghhh...! Poor Carl Edwards...! Glad those are over...! Thanks, keep up your awesomeness and go enjoy some nature today...!
Hope Nascar opens their decisions to debate among the owners and changes how Teams and drivers communicate with them. They need each other’s support to survive
Enjoyed this Kenny . Smoke and you always tell it like it is. Can't wait to see you race next month.
Tony Stewart is one of the best commentators on Fox. He has a great sense of humor but you have to listen closely to what he says.
Thank you Tony for speaking the truth!!
With the RCR penalty I waiting to find out if they accidentally left some bolts out of the pan or exactly what they did
I can't fathom why anybody would bet on NASCAR, a sport with a private and closed rulebook.
This is on point...... Hendrick did absolutely nothing wrong, and this is a classic example of micromanagement at its finest. This is not the sport that I grew up watching, and I'm not saying that we need to go back to the good ol days, but common sense has to be restored....
Everybody knows NASCAR got hissy pissy about Hendrick Motorsports getting the points back in the appeal about the lovers
@@DrewHiRacingNASCARWinPOVs Yep! Me to
The work Cleetus Macfarland is doing at the Freedom Factory down in Florida is the answer. He provides the cars! Drivers show up and its some of the best racing I have seen in years. The potential this guy has. I am waiting for the first sponsorship for individual cars. Maybe Kenny and Tony could make a call. 100 bucks Ole Cleetus finds a couple more Crown Vicks for you two in SECONDS.
good interview Tony's one of the greatest
There was always people that freely spoke their mind. Rusty, Dale, Parsons, take your pick. Then there was Herm and Tony! Not only DID you guys say what you had to say but you did it with a stick in hand 😂
It's not that way in racing anymore, plus the government, news outlets, and social media are also censoring people.
Tony is a racer's racer 🤘
I admire the time and effort you have spent racing in all forms.
Man I enjoy when people just talk straight .So rare now.
Kenny, I love you as a brother!
I admire Tony's position.
Other then that, well, you know how I feel about nascar!
great interview kenny i love smoke
For 20 years after "The Split", I'd get the "What was IndyCar thinking" questions that were pretty valid. They seem to have subsided in the last few years, but back in the day, it was a constant soap opera.
Love Tony Stewart, never be another Tony Stewart
Ryan preece is another Tony Stewart
Just ask him🗣
Kenny - you have the best interviews out there, man.
Nascar has become to political
@@bryonkidder6199 not this bad Nascar has gone to far with all this political bull crap
Like everything else
Wellllllll, heavy lies the crown 👑…. “ often those who speak of the problems, created said problems.” What are YOU as a fan doing negatively, or positively to impact the sport…? 👀
That's why I left after bubbles big lie and how Nascar basically called us razist fans. Haven't seen a race since. I just heard about Tony's comment on bubbles. About Laying him out.
And there is a stereotype that NASCAR fans are the kind of people who don’t know the difference between “To” and “Too”.
👏🏁 DALE Sr Called It The Chrome Horn When it Came Beatin & Bangin 🏁👏
Tony already has the SRX .
SRX doesn't count...it's an IROC similar series
I still enjoy nascar racing, but,it's nothing like it used to be!
Tony is not only a champion but a racing genius.
When team owners unite and don't show up at the track, then they can have more bargaining power.
That's never happening
Don't race, you break contracts with sponsers. No sponsers, no money. No money, no team.
That'll never happen, sweetie.
Thank you Kenny Wallace for what you do !¡!
There is a resurgence in local short track racing and there are new formats for amature drag racing bringing a resurgence in that sport and yet NASCAR in decline
They keep it real... Great conversation
Love your logo for the show. May I suggest you make some t-shirts with the logo it would cool to wear. Plus it would be a cheap plug.
Tony Stewart loves racing and guess what he knows racing what he saying is 100% correct
As a dirt track driver,I use to love Nascar, But since 2020 NASCAR has in my opinion went down hill fast, Fan's are not happy, Every year my entire family of 11 buy the VIP tickets for every NASCAR race pre order,We booked our motels a year in advance we loved it, Last year and this one only got the Daytona tickets and left halfway through
Wow what a waste of fucking money 😂 you realize theres people who would kill for those tickets right?
I've been to Daytona twice. One race was a total one lane wonder, the other was excellent. Daytona can be fickle.
I went to Talladega this year, I think it was the most boring race that I’ve ever seen. Every lap besides the last five was like a parade lap.
@@jeremyreedtrucking.7053 Nascar has killed racing,
@@jeremyreedtrucking.7053Even though they were two wide the whole race and jockeying for position? Martinsville had the most green flag passes since like 2015.
Great interview, a lot of truth shared. Race promoters, and corporations operate totally different unfortunately.
NASCAR really needs to restructure there whole model and bring in these old drivers to help them go in the right direction
There ego's won't let them.
Mr Wallace, you just did gods work. You kept smoke in check. keep up the great work
Well... I'm not an owner and I can say it.. NASCAR has gone woke and that France crowd needs to sit down, shut up and let racers race. NASCAR needs the racers and teams... The racers and teams don't need NASCAR.
Outstanding interview.
BREAKING NEWS!!! Nascar inspected all of Stewart Hass racing via satellite and fined everyone, even the guy that makes the hot dogs…
Love Tony Stewart
Tony, You are the best Ambassador for all auto racing. I wish I was your neighbor.
Wow, Tony looks good. I can tell he's lost some weight.
Thanks for your opinions, "Killer."
You should be scared smoke we love ya though
Tony, looking good man. Top dawg we miss you with the big boy 410s.
If NASCAR truly wants to improve and grow the sport, they MUST listen to their car owners and drivers, otherwise they loose the owners, drivers and sponsors.
my opinion is they make next gen like f1 ... u have money you win... with all those kind of technologies ... keep it nascar not f1
Anything Tony says i pretty much almost always agree especially on this
Well, we have always known this thing with NASCAR has been going on forever, but now, its all way over the top, and like Tony said, it is so transparent what they do it is beyond ridiculous.
I love Tony Stewart
