- Spear itself has caused a very poke-oriented meta that plays differently than how wars did in the past and in this video I wanted to explain how and why this change came to be.

you should do a 'pvp course ' i think youve got alot of the required talent to be the person to do an idea like this. explaining how buffs and debuffs work and which cancel eachother out and when / how to use stuff. ofc to the general idea bc there are 3 roles you can play but i think this would be encouraging for people like myself to learn stuff that dont have people to turn to..

I think next meta will be almost the same but with more medium instead of heavy for spear user XD.
Im not sure what ive hated more in my NW playtime over the years. The musket meta in Opr or the Spear meta nowadays. Probably the spear which glues on you and it has everything and can be played with everything

People were saying a measly 5 dodge increase was going to kill heavy😂 still 2 dodges with hearty and a lot of the weapons give stam back. Fortify perf is also insane on heavier builds… Cyclone should never have been reworked then I think spear would have been in a more fine spot. Spear only becomes broken when used with sn, I think spear is a sns merchant.
It's almost like FS and spear were the problems, not heavy :^)
spear is broken with any weapon. it is hands down the most easy weapon to play and easiest to get value with

Spear didnt change war, heavy meta did... spear changed nothing, got no buff, nothing, now, suddenly people trash on spear balance.
BUT, we see no light spear, not even medium spear most of the time, so again, ask yourself, is spear the problem, or heavy?
Finally someone gets it,spear didnt change anything in war roster. Heavy meta made spear move viable,there isnt many counter to heavy when you need rend/penetrating backstap which is what spear is good at. People miss the point by thinking "spear changed war meta" no heavy war meta made spear more viable than ever since you need rend + penetrating backtap to deal with heavies.
Yeah spear didn't change much and has always been an incredible weapon and scorpion just provided more playstyle with it. Spear has been able to do like everything, even in pve it's an insanely useful weapon with very good damage. Rend/slow/homing/cc/stam regen/crit/fortify/weaken/etc all one weapon.
The meta has just shifted to where these things are more valuable than sheer burst damage and people are realizing that spear is good because of it. There is also the lock down capability of spear, which is valuable in this meta. I think heavy, along with all the factors that made heavy the preferred equip load over time, encouraged the adoption we see of spear because of all the synergies it provides with heavy and those other factors (fortify, stam, cc, rend, armor pen, etc).
Spear didn't change, you just need all you can get right now to do anything and spear does it all.
You are just wrong, its just a fact, before this heavy meta shift, spear was underplayed...
Spear is a funny weapon, like, when no one played it people were always "damm, spear is broken", but then, you went to OPR and Wars, and saw no one using them, execpt some bows.
Melee based spear builds were not commom at all in the two metas before the heavy one.
Bruiser were bruisers, and light melees were GA based builds.
Now, all of the sudden, the meta shifts to heavy, and people think spear is broken...
Spear is broken cause everyone is in heavy, and spear has the rend, when the meta shifts away from heavy, spear will fall agains in the same place it was, which is an OK spot.

Spear had some ghost buffs no devs talked about but it was the combination of both imo
War company’s should start GAing things. Would make the game way more enjoyable and watchable
