Thailand: vlog in koh samui 🐘

- 🐘 something happened today.
🍌 we made food for the elephants. Glad to say there was supplements and protein added too.
🐘 after meeting and feeding the elephants, we walked to the jungle with them. Awesome animals. Gentle, powerful and a little cheeky.
🛖 after they enjoyed the mud bath, farting and literal trumping (baby elephant)..
🚿 they had a shower back at the sanctuary before bathing with humans. Jasmine enjoyed helping scrub down a couple of the elephants.
Of course, this is a business, but they seemed to truly look after the animals who were all rescued from cruelty.
There was a photographer with us all day, filming. At the end of the day we said goodbye to the elephants and were shown the video. Fast editing! And the music accompanying the film was special.
But then:
“We will send you this for free,” was announced. I wept. Such kindness is constantly shown in this country and I realised in that moment how important it is to me.
Fair enough if the photographer charged, of course. We all need to make a living. But Jasmine looked at me as tears streamed down my face after a very overwhelming experience.

It is so important to ensure you visit ethical centres if you are going to participate in this type of day. We saw the rescued elephants and made food for them before feeding them. See what happened.

Wat Plai Laem was full of the Chinese Heritage and the tour was full of temples. Hin Ta and Hin Yai (Grandma and Grandpa Rocks) were interesting to see - a total contrast to the big golden buddha.
We stayed at the Zara Beach Resort Hotel in Koh Samui, Thailand. It was super cheap.
We loved the stay here and I would love to go for longer!
