    My gastroenterologist is telling me to increase fiber in my diet. Not going to happen. I’m on day 4 of an extended fast. Then I’m going carnivore.

      I am by no means a doctor or scientist so please do not take my opinion as medical advice but all that I will say is that after 25 years of digestive issues(in particular ever worsening chronic IBS & beginnings of diverticulitis) I had enough of the supposed medical/nutritional recommendations of including lots of fiber(via whole grains, fruits & vegetables etc…) so decided(on February 15th, 2022) to try the carnivore diet(zero fiber, no fruits & vegetables & dropping all foods that were not animal based) & ALL OF MY IBS SYMPTOMS RESOLVED ITSELF WITHIN 2 WEEKS🤔Best of luck in your upcoming carnivore journey & Godspeed🙏

    I’ve seen this talk by Dr Mason before. It’s the best one on the subject and the one I talk about when discussing with other people. Since I had a lot of my rectum removed due to bowel cancer, this information was what really helped me control bowel movements and improve the quality of my life. I get so fed up with people saying “you MUST eat fibre”. No you don’t! When I don’t I normally have a bowel movement every day. What he is saying here is true.

    Love to see him debate fibre with Lustic !

    • @trail.blazer
      @trail.blazer Месяц назад +4

      Lustig possibly has a financial reason for saying that fiber is a requirement. He is involved in a fiber replacement product called Monch Monch. I agree with some of what Lustig says and I do like him, but getting most fiber out of my diet has resolved years of IBS. It was a leap of faith. Trying different fibers, fiber supplements, higher/lower fiber never worked. Only getting to near zero fiber worked.

      @@trail.blazerexactly! Fibre is so damaging to our gut lining and causes constipation. This is my personal experience. I proved it to myself.

    Long ago when people made bricks for building they used clay and mixed in fibrous plant material to help the bricks dry and to strengthen them. And this is what fiber does in your intestines.

    You need fiber to reduce bioavailability of PUFAs from seed oils that you consume. This is the only benefit of undigestable fiber.
