    I feel like Yoda chose to not fight general grievous later on as well as previously, because as much as he would like to deny it, he possessed a genuine hatred and disgust for the droid general and chose to not engage in further battles, in order to prevent falling to the Darkside, and giving into hatred.

      Nonsense imho. Luke Skywalker had that problem when it came to cutting down his nephew, especially after he found out that Jacen had murdered his wife Mara. Yoda never did. Not an issue for him. And he never fought Grievous, because Grievous made a point of never being caught in the position of having to go up against the grand master; it's corporate hackery fanfiction, nothing more. And it has to be that way, you can't have this fight and have it make sense, because if you do then Yoda wins and Grievous is no longer there to serve as the final linchpin to the Clone Wars in Revenge of the Sith.

    It's possible Grevious on a subconscious level knew he was outmatched from the start, I say this because as the video stated Grevious did an extremely stupid, almost out of character action in his "duel" with Yoda and attacked him with a single blade, as also shown Yoda was able to effortlessly take that blade from Grevious whenever he wanted, it's possible that Grevious realized that he was so heavily outclassed not even using multiple lightsabers would of made a difference.

    • @CorbCorbin
      @CorbCorbin Год назад +13

      It’s idiotic. Windu could handle the lightning from Sidious. He should’ve crushed Grievous with just the force, just as Yoda could’ve. I’m tired of hearing “that’s not the Jedi way…” crap.
      The Jedi kill all the time, especially when it’s a threat killing other Jedi. They take limbs, just as a warning, and are shown to take down life in many ways, throughout the different books, comics, games and series. The movies never say anything about Grievous being immune to a Jedi crushing his mechanical body. Yoda was right there, and he could’ve done a similar mission, at anytime, to take Grievous out, after he’d become the infamous Jedi Slayer. If Yoda already knew he was, in this comic, it’s even dumber.
      Leftover nonsense, from the prequels.

      What in the hell could possibly be the explanation for why he didn't, if they ever actually fought? It's a no-brainer that Yoda vs. Grievous results in Grievous being taken apart, easily. Which is why Grievous would never have been caught dead on the same system, nevermind the same planet, as Yoda. Dooku even explicitly told him to stay away from certain Jedi, Yoda included, because he was not capable of going toe-to-toe with them. Any realistic fight featuring these two would end in Grievous losing, and dying. Dooku is far more powerful, four more Adept at the lightsaber arts, and he had to put those skills to use in carving out a retreat. Grievous would be so outmatched he wouldn't be able to get away. So this fight, as far as I'm concerned, never happened - things lime this are why I don't acknowledge Disney's crap.

      Seems to be a reoccurring problem with the Jedi. Obi-Wan allowed Vader to live and continue his destruction against the galaxy not once, but twice. It’s honestly terrible writing. They should stop getting 2 characters who can’t be killed off because they die later in the story to fight each other knowing no one can realistically win. If this happens, most of the time it’ll result in a stalemate as even if one is superior to the other, they can’t die.

      It worked for the mini-series that the concept was introduced in, since he only attacks via ambush and when he gets bested it's via the force every time since he doesn't have a way to deal with that. It's outside of that mini-series where that tends to get overlooked and leads to cases like this where his actions make no sense.
      There are two different versions of General Greivous:
      - The Proud Warrior (became mechanized to try to be better than Jedi, wants to prove he is superior): this is the one that pulls this weird stuff like dueling Jedi 1 on 1 that would easily kill him, giving plenty of chances to get hit by force attacks, that sort of thing.
      - The Tactical Assassin (trained to kill Jedi by making use of their weaknesses and being unpredictable): This one still collects lightsabers, but more in the way that a hunter takes trophies rather than having a whole superiority complex, he gets clapped by Dooku regularly in order to train him. Still makes mistakes, but typically when thinking that the fear tactics is working when it isn't, and he gets punished hard for those mistakes.
      I don't think the character works with the proud warrior setup because like you mentioned he can just be magically destroyed from across the room by a skilled Jedi. But the assassin setup does work nicely because it's not something Jedi are prepared for generally.

    This battle was pretty poorly written tbh. Neither comabtive had any reason to hold back. Especially Greivies who im pretty sure has never used only one saber against anyone......ever.
    I know he's protected by plot armor until RoTS but the writer could have at least made a entertaining yet one sided duel.

    If Grevious cant even beat Dooku who even ran away from his former master when he was about to be overwhelmed. How could he even expect to win. Grevious was taught early that if he cant make them fear him during battle then he better flee, and i think in almost every case Grevious get defeated or pushed toward defeated by Jedi masters.

    This is perfect! This is extremely stupid of Grievous. He is COMPLETELY out of his league with Yoda. Yoda would completely destroy him. He didn't want to kill him,to take a life just because he can. It was a lesson. Which Grievous refuse to learn. Great holocron. See you in the next one :) May the Force be with you too.
