    Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou. My question has finally been answered. The cross wave test was brilliant. I was wanting to know what happened if you swamped the boat but importantly the speed of water exiting out of the boat was impressive.

    Crossed the bar today in Discovery 400 for the first time. I had exactly what you show here in cross wave demonstration. Wave broke into the back left side of the boat, while i was sitting at the back right side. the boat handled very well, very forgiving my lack of skill. loving every moment on it :D

      Awesome to hear Gizat. The large pontoons, paired with the catamaran hull design makes for a very stable and forgiving ride in some of the rougher water. We hope you keep enjoying the boat!

    What a great video and a nicely balanced piece of kit. What speed do you think could be achieved with the 4m lightly loaded and a 9.9hp as opposed to the 3.3M with the same engine?

    • @TRUEKITINFLATABLES
      @TRUEKITINFLATABLES  2 года назад +1

      A ballpark speed is around 28kph with a 9.9hp on the 330. It is similar on the 400, around 1kph slower. While it's a bigger and heavier boat, the extra waterline length almost makes up for it

    • @ironix1

      @@TRUEKITINFLATABLES Thanks, that's really helpful. There is a lot of videos on RUclips showing these two, but I cannot tell which is which and the don't say. Are there any easy ways to tell a 330 from a 400 at a glance?

    • @TRUEKITINFLATABLES
      @TRUEKITINFLATABLES  2 года назад

      There wouldn't be any other boats I would rather be in in those conditions. Stable, fast draining, nimble - everything you need to handle the conditions

  • @timquain5341
    @timquain5341 3 года назад

    Looks great. Just a few questions. How do they compare to thundercats? I went on a thundercat recently and it was so fun! Are they tough enough to withstand fish spines/fishing hooks? I see the stern is closed. Does water get stuck inside the boat? Why would you recommend someone buy a True Kit over a Takacat? One last thing, why do you sit on the tubes instead of on the floor where you can wedge yourself in more?

    • @TRUEKITINFLATABLES
      @TRUEKITINFLATABLES  3 года назад +17

      Quite different to a thundercat, if you look carefully you will see lots of differences. For example a thundercat weighs 100kg whereas our Discovery is less than half that weight. Our Discoverys will pack down into a bag for easy transporting. All the new Discoverys have the aluminium laser-cut, ultra stiff transom with the fast drain grate scupper system. You can see in the video how quickly the water exits the boat from a full (intentional😁) swamping situation. Want to compare our boats to any other boat available? Check out our ALL IN THE DETAILS article going digging deep into the details truekit.nz/blogs/news/its-all-in-the-details Why are we sitting on the tubes? Because it's really comfortable. We aren't racing. If we were racing we would likely get our weight lower and try to lock in. Any inflatable product needs to be protected from very sharp objects and ours are no different there. Having used and tested hundreds of boats over the years, there aren't many I would rather be in in a potential swamping situation than our new Discovery boats, they are definitely some of the safest available. The stability, buoyancy and fast draining system, along with the lightweight nimbleness of them make them a great choice whether you are fishing, diving, as a tender or just for exploring. That is before we even mention that there are a total of 5 air chambers in case of an accident. Sorry for the lengthy reply. Please if you have any detail product questions, direct them through the contact page on our website. We don't really want to be marketing on RUclips, just having fun in the boats and being informative. Thanks!

    Hey guys, nice video, I'm going to order a discovery however I can't decide between the 400 and 330. I know the size is the only difference. Which will be best to nicely handle 2 people and camping gear in choppy waters (I will be island hoping and it gets pretty ugly between the mainland and moreton island sometimes). Which boat will be able to plane it the best out of these two. Should I basically just grab the highest HP motor I can find (taking into consideration their max HP) , and with a decent prop? Do you recommend a particular type of prop?

    • @TRUEKITINFLATABLES
      @TRUEKITINFLATABLES  3 года назад +5

      Hi Katrina. What you find is that the longer the boat, the better the ride is because of the extra waterline length. So the 4m is the best option for ride performance. We find the lightest engines seem to perform the best. Often they are the Tohatsu/Mercury options but it depends what you have available. In Australia we recommend ordering a prop through Propeller Warehouse in Brisbane. Talk to them, Steve the owner is great. He can recommend the right prop for your engine and slightly modify it to suit your True Kit. Thanks for your message
