    Love my Custom 24, but was hoping to find a Custom 22 in charcoal cherry when I bought the 24, to compare them. Zak, your video is great, because it has shown me that it doesn't matter. I don't have space for both. Either would have been awesome. Not at all unhappy with the 24. I am not a good enough guitarist to worry about the differences. Thanks!

    I have a 2022 core 24-08 faded whale blue shipping to me now! I've wanted a PRS for years and finally bit the bullet. I own many other guitars including Gibson custom shop and fender strat and tele so I wanted something more modern and this video solidifies that 🎸🤘

    Every DGT I have played sound very High Def. I think it has to do with the 6100 frets. My 2008 DGT is a great great example of that. It's more of everything compared to my other guitars. Love it.

  • @frantisca
    @frantisca Год назад +4

    I have mixed feelings about PRS's. To me, in no way does it replace a LP that is much warmer, or a 335 that's more defined. Yes, it is versatile, the controls allow you to split the pickups and the 2 separate volume pots give you a large palette of tones. Still, Teles and Strats are a thing of their own and you can't get evrything out of one guitar. It's got stunning loolks, feels right (apart from the body's rim that protrudes uncomfortably in your forearm), plays right with its nice neck carve and big jumbo frets. I'd say PRS have got their own flavor, some like it some don't, their high def output won't suit everybody's taste. Goods guitars for sure, but not indispensable in an arsenal.

    • @shawnstarks1743
      @shawnstarks1743 Год назад

      Yeah, he lost me with that comment. Ain’t no way in hell, that PRS is replacing a 335. And by the way I just bought a American PRS Custom. PRS are more modern sounding and that’s the appeal for me.

    How much bigger do the DGT frets feel vs. Cu24? Also, are there any differences in the body size? They look like the same cut but I've heard DGT is thicker?

    • @ZackSeifMusic

      Thicker body and neck, and taller frets. It's is noticeable.

    Wonderful guitars. To my ears, I like the C2408 better. But I know you can tone down the DGT. I am also not a gigger.... I am a very rudimentary finger stylist that plays solo and only for family and maybe friends if they happen to be here. These are way more guitar than I would ever need. LOL Thanks for sharing.

    The 24-08 looks fantastic, but the DGT sounds like it has a bit more punch with the leads. DGT also sounds like an acoustic with the cleans. I need to pull my PRS out and play it more, because this is giving me GAS for another. 😂

    I just ordered a 2017 custom 2410 top. It was between that or an Ernie Ball music man jp 15. Which stays in tune better. Or dgt core?

    • @ZackSeifMusic
      @ZackSeifMusic  4 месяца назад +1

      They all can hold tune equally the same as long as they are set up properly.
      I think a common misconception is that everything works right out the box for everyone's playing style and preferences. Guitars are set up a specific way at the factory, that doesn't mean that it'll play the best for you.
      So I highly recommend that you get it properly set up with your preferred string gauge and string action, and then as long as each floating bridge is properly balanced you should be fine.
      I time at the beginning of every set and 9 out of 10 times I'm totally fine. But remember the more that you use a tremolo bridge the more likely a string will go out of tune.
      In my experience the PRS tends to hold tune more, but I use the music man guitar more because I prefer how it plays and sounds. It doesn't bother me if I have to spend 10 seconds double checking the tuning every few songs.😄

    I just get overwhelmed with PRS, every time I think I decided on a model , I hear another model and then I can't decide lol, These guitars will both cover anything ,they"re both incredible, but at the end of the day its really what neck feels most comfortable for me, and you can't have two favorite guitars , so pick one !😡

    • @ZackSeifMusic
      @ZackSeifMusic  Год назад +1

      I still believe the Custom 24-08 is the most versatile PRS out there. Thinnest neck they offer, 24 frets, coil splitting, and looks great.

  • @robblackwell6766

    Do you think the cable impacts the tone? People never believe me but I swear Mogami cables sound better!

    • @ZackSeifMusic
      @ZackSeifMusic  2 года назад

      You know, that is a very interesting question and a topic for a whole other video! However I do swear by Mogami for 1/4" cables, and use Hosa for most of my XLRs. There becomes a point of diminishing returns, but you CAN buy a cheaper cable that doesn't have the longevity, reliability, and top end retention that a more expensive cable will have!

    • @milesharris335
      @milesharris335 Год назад

      Yes and yes. Mogami 2524 are my favorite I have tried. Cables, especially the first cable that goes from your guitar to whatever else you are using not only affects the tone but also how the volume knob reacts. So overlooked by most people.

      Very interesting to hear. My 24-08 is less aggressive than my Kiesel and Musicman guitars. The switching system in the PRS makes it super versatile, have you tried lowering the pickup heights yet? And also dialing back down presence on your amp can help tame as well.

    I own two lesser PRS guitars, so I KNOW they can sound fantastic. But, the audio in this video reinforces the "sterile" PRS tone trope. Both guitars come across as synthetic and bland, and it's obviously not the player. Something is happening to the signal after it exits the guitars, and it ain't good.

    I didn't like the bend note on the end of your solos, if you get rid of it you could have more of a stargazer Richie Blackmores rainbow feel to it
    The bend just made it feel dull and too feminine for what it's going for is all

    • @ZackSeifMusic
      @ZackSeifMusic  Год назад

      They are large in size, yes. I find it easier to play though since the frets are closer to the strings in that regard and I don’t have to press down as much.
