We'll soon be paying $180 bucks for daily trainers if we keep normalizing this practice lmao I guarantee you companies would still make an amazing profit if not more of a profit if they charged $130-140 for these. Greedy greedy greedy...and that goes for every company
The 1080 has been overpriced for several versions already. I got my v12 at a nice discount, but it really wouldn't have been worth the full 180 euro, because it's not that good as a running shoe. I still use both the regular and permafrost ones for walking around, but retired them from running a long time ago.
If you feel that way, the option is still available to you. Just buy the version from a few years back. Truth be told, you’ll probably get an even bigger discount than if they hadn’t made newer versions since the older was released.
Enjoyed the review, although not a big fan of NB shoes. Look forward to the running review scale you are developing. That would be really helpful in determining a shoe's potential before making the purchase. Thanks.
Idk about the 1080 series but I hate how much wider the toe box is on the new rebel. I wanted to like the shoe but it was too wide in my normal size, and too short(and still too wide) in a half size down. People swear their feet EXPLODE into balloons when they run long distances but I loved the feeling and fit of the rebel 3. I am so annoyed by all shoes making these hobbit foot shaped shoes 🫤
Both the 1080v13 & 880v14 felt really tight in the toe box. I also had to go up a half size when I tried each on. I was hoping they would make the upper more relaxed on this version.
I have seen some other reviews that said this version was firmer and stiffer than the v.13. If that is the case then, along with the extra weight (which does make a difference to me), it would have to be a pass and I'll just buy another v.13 or two to get me by for a while. Thx for the review as it is always good to get different perspectives.
Like Thomas, the 1080 v13 did not work at all with my narrow foot. I still use it for short easy runs, but anything longer than 10k and it starts rubbing
Been running in the 1080 since V9, but dropped last years model and still not sold on the updated foam from v13 and v14, the foam just seems to dead to me for an overall daily trainer where you can easily pick up the pace. Sorry but Asics has beat you New Balance.
Here you see two people trying to stay in the good graces of a vendor. Shoe got heavier with almost no update except they aren't as soft as last year. With a year of so many shoes in this same price point being more exciting, this is BORING.
U have no clue do u.. all the previous iterations bottomed out. the V14 has the same compound as the More V5 which is denser. Softer doesn't mean better. Thank me later
@@leeheirbaut8154 Bottoming Out has to do with your weight, not everyone bottomed out in the 13. Also the More V5 has been widely panned in comparison to the V4. It's all personal preference. I have seen at least six reviews on these v14's and everyone keeps over emphasizing that these are Firmer, so more back to foam that is similar to the previous versions, that everyone complained about needed to change, and the weight gain in these would go hand in hand. You mentioned ALL the other versions Bottomed Out? That's you, not the shoe. I have had every version of the 1080 for the past six years, and they have never Bottomed Out for me.

Totally unrelated comment, but how wild is the falloff of the Adidas Prime X Strung? The hype coudn't have been bigger for version 2, and I don't hear ANYONE talking about that shoe anymore.
Because most people feel like they ruined the shoe. I however, have never used the first 2 versions, so the PX2S is my favourite shoe at the moment. I got it at half price (300 euro is too much for me), and will certainly get another pair when the price is right.
Influencers get paid to talk about new products. I have adios pro 3 and it ‘s foam is just fantastic in my opinion, so durable for a faster shoe . I would try prime x 2 if I found one on major sale .
Takes confidence to wear that Baldur's Gate 2 "Human Flesh +5" chest armour that Thomas has on, plus a lengthy tedious quest to boot. Good work man!

Man, didn't the v13 just come out? So many shoes to keep up with!

I think v13 came out last fall! Right before ny marathon
Yeah, I’m still loving my 1080v12 and, we already have 14 😳
@@BB-gd5pk ?
Bought the 1080v13’s recently and glad I did because the weight gain on the v14 is a dealbreaker for me…one reason why I sold my Nimbus 26.
Imo v13 looks way better especially in certain colorways.

All things being equal no one wants a heavier shoe.

I don’t know, really sounds like you guys are trying to be positive about a shoe you think is average.
Yup, they didn’t have a problem bashing the Pegasus 41 and the plus but they’re super timid around this subject. Probably trying to keep connections

if you want similar feel to the 1080 but a more breathable upper try the balos

Good morning. Interesting description. At Spain= €190. I prefer the nb 880. Like to Meaghan and Thomas. Happy saturday.
1080 v14 or rebel v4 ?
Hi, if you are a light runner, nb rebel v4. Cheers.
Is Thomas from or with Believe In The Run? Is he with it if he's already from it?
What’s up with Blue shoes??? (Hoka Rincon, PUma MagMax, this 1080v14)👀
I got a puma magmax in white, looks great, I think the initial colors are pretty random, but lots of folks like a blue shoe I guess ?
Any bigger runners review ? Chad ?
