The reason they were called fairy stones was mainly because it's believed that if your energy is right you can look through the stone and be able to see into the fairy realm.
@RickSmith-kp3sy I thought hag stones had holes all the way through them and omars have "bowls" (the holes don't go all the way through the rock)... but I could be wrong!
@@PlasteredDragon Yes, they're a type of concretion, and the area where we find them is full of muddy clay. Here's a good explanation: rockseeker.com/concretions/
@@emlovesagates I found a vein of what I call "Watermelon Quartzite" along the Huron River in MI. It's colored exactly like Watermelon Tourmaline except it is very definitely individual fused sand grains. The first piece I found from this vein was huge, a 4" thick × 6" long × 5" heart shaped chunk. I was pulling random stones from the bottom of the Huron while using the water for cold therapy. I think I stood there for about 2 minutes just looking at what had randomly come up lol. Since then I've looked for this vein whenever there & found more. The vein is green outer then white then purple pink in the middle.
@@emlovesagates I am going to have to research what they are found in! I am in Vic, and I hear people up island finding great things all the time! I do love dallasite and jasper though. How can you not!? Lol
Belíssima coleção 🎉🎉🎉 excelente compartimento Deus abençoe abraço.🌻❤️❤❤️❤🌹❤❤❤❤👍👍
The fairy stones are cool.
Some of the previous fairy stone get together were really spiff! What makes them?
7:30 Looks like the wildest colored stromatolite I've ever seen. Would be cool if it was one.
@@RickSmith-kp3sy I just had to look up what those are! I'm not sure if it's one or not, but now I'm thinking I need to cut it open!

Thank you. These are precious. I just subbed!
That is so interesting. Never heard of fairy stone. Fossilized mud?
Fairy stones have natural holes through them and are usually referred to as hag stones or Oden stones.
@@lukedaron8838 I've never found any with holes in them!
@@emlovesagates I wish I could attach a pic in the comments. I have a ton of them.
I thought hag stones were omars????

So what are fairy stones? I've never heard of them. Are they formed from mud or clay deposits or something?

Nice pieces ! I've never seen those formations before , really cool looking !
Did you say Nantucket MA . !? I live on the Boston South Shore ! I'll keep an eye out for them at the beaches !
I say Feldspar on the yellow on!👏😎💎
Wonderful
Hard volcanic ash mixed with clay
It looks like the yellow stone could be chalcedony
I think you found an ancient gate site
05:36 green & purple quartzite? I've got a bunch of it. Really lovely color combo
@@TheLindagdetroit That could be!

@@TheLindagdetroit Nice find! Lucky you!
I have never found a fairy stone. I am on the island as well.
@conniesmokegearsphotograph4829 I've only found them in 1 spot, I wonder if there are more locations! Hi fellow Islander 🤗

@conniesmokegearsphotograph4829 Yep, the further up island you go the better! Way more dallasite mid island!
I think that orange-ish one is just quartz. Drop it in some Iron-Out, per the instructions on the bottle, and it should come out white.
@CricketsBay Good idea! Thanks!
Wood?
I think the yellow/orange stone may be petrified wood.
7:19 Unakite?
👍⭐⭐⭐
More wood
Fairy stones??? Looks like runestone from fantasy games
@angelamaya2296 Ya they're pretty neat looking!
OK give up what is a Fairy stone ?
@skeets6060 It's a type of concretion that forms odd shapes.
