    Plastic 9mm ammo box (the kind that holds single rounds per spot) is a great storage method.
    I use those for AA and AAA batteries. Keeps them organized and easily accessible.
    There is a difference between the black and the white ones. Black ones are the better of the two but cost more.

    Yup. Did the same as you. Counted how many AA, AAA batteries required. Bought that quantity and a little more along with a charging rack. Batteries I got a handful of 3000mAh at 1.5v (in May 2022) smart locks says it’s best to use 1.5v, they’re more expensive than 1.2v 2800mAh (jan 2022) that I got a whole lot.
    Fast forward end of 2023. I can’t keep things longer than a few weeks.

    I bought it and it's decent, however it can quickly display the green light regardless of the rechargeable battery after max 1-2 hours. However, when I move it to another location, it turns red again for a while. And the power consuption isn't stable but it's work.

    Cool stuff. I use rechargeable on a bunch of candles- cheap easy ambient lighting. Only need to charge every 6 weeks on 15 year old Eneloop batteries. They used to go strong for 8+weeks.
    Will a Kindle charger/cord work with this?

      Depending on the version, yes. (I think some new kindles have usb-c) As long as it's the same micro-usb, you're good to go

    I was hoping you would demo AAA. I bought this item to use for both sizes but it charges only the AAs. The AAAs are too small for this device.

      Check again. I've just bought this charger and AAA batteries do fit as well as AA. Take a look from 4:26. You can clearly see the smaller metal contacts below the bigger ones for the AA batteries. These are for the AAAs.

    How does charging D cell batteries work, timewise, with a charger that plugs into a wall versus a USB charger. I would think that as timewise, with a charger that plugs into a wall versus a USB charger. I would think not as much electricity would flow through a little USB charger. What should I buy My electricity goes out occasionally with no fans so I'm going to buy a couple of camping fans that use 8 d cell batteries and I want to be able to recharge the batteries. Suggestions? I just feel like these little USB ports are like little speakers; bring the tower speakers back! What's the difference in electrical currents for a USB charger versus a wall charger in 2024?

    • @GrantButler
      @GrantButler  16 дней назад

      @TakeTheRide those big ones take almost 20hrs to charge from completely dead. I've never worked with them before, so I'm not sure how a D battery would perform

  • @curtchase3730
    @curtchase3730 4 месяца назад +1

    Nice, but I'd never use 1.2V NiCads or NiMh "rechargable" batts in low drain devices like your door locks or quartz clocks, remote controls, or anything sensitive to voltages below 1.5. Great for stupid things, like flashlights, toys and the like. If you use in low drain devices, you may that they will go dead in a few months because that's what they do. Self discharge is faster than alkalines by far. I wonder what that charger will do if you throw in those LiFePo4 true 1.5V batteries. They have a BMS and require a full 5V input.

    • @GrantButler
      @GrantButler  4 месяца назад

      I'm not sure how to test how a 1.5v batt does on it. How do I make sure it's not going to ruin one or the other

  • @mrihar
    @mrihar 6 месяцев назад

    HR6 doesn't mean 6 hours of battery life. It an industry denotation for rechargeable vs LR6 which can be applied to most alkaline batteries. You shouldn't be doing a review of anything battery related if you don't know that. Also, the time to deplete a battery's charge will depend on the load applied to it.....HR6 has nothing to do with that. I would delete this video or edit that part out. It literally destroys your credibility.

    • @GrantButler
      @GrantButler  6 месяцев назад +1

      I'll just start by saying I don't know what you're talking about. I never make any mention to a hr6 or lr6. The only statement I made around charging was that it takes up to 10 hours to charge as posted on their Amazon listing.
