This is what Sabaton does, they take a good story and makes badass music about it while instilling pride to whoever is listening. They are masters of their craft!
I'm from Sweden and this is one of my favorite Sabaton songs, it's so fast paced and in your face and pumps you full of energy. If you want another good one you ought to check out "82:nd all the way", about Alvin York, also a fantastic song.
I thought you would like this video! I think now it's time for you to watch a live concert video. Might I suggest "en livstid i krig". This is sung in Swedish so you will need the subtitles on. This one is about the 30-year war in the 1600's. This video will show you how popular, and how powerful this band is.
In times they are needed is indeed true, during September '22 when Finland's NATO membership was still on the grey area USS Kearsarge did visit in Helsinki (Capital of Finland)
Sabaton rules! They pay tribute to the warriors of every country, not the country itself. Dan introduced me to Sabaton via his covers of The Last Stand and Smoking Snakes. I haven't pulled myself away from either Dan nor Sabaton, since. Wait til you hear The Winged Hussars and Night Witches and si many more fantastic hero warriors like the Unkillable Soldier. From Sabaton, I learn real history. I learned about how on the last day of the war, the Germans and the Americans joined together to rescue the French POW's from the Nazi's. I learned how Audie Murphy locked himself into a motel room for 10 days to overcome PTSD & the drugs he'd been taking in order to fend it off. If their song don't cover enough details,, their Sabaton History channel does. Great reaction! I hope you get a chance to hear more of their songs!
What a good reaction! I could see that he was so proud that his pride was oozing from my screen! Well, I can guess how smug he was when he presented this "Exhibit A" to his father to settle this discussion for good.
So happy you did this one! In case you didn't know, there is a Sabaton History Channel. I think you would like it and there is an episode on The Devil Dogs: ruclips.net/video/lzstj5yZEUA/видео.html OORAH! Great reaction by the way!
There are many badass quotes from history but seldom do they come from the same event, at least among those I know, and two of them not only came from the same battle but from the same military branch. "Retreat? Hell, we just got here." Marines are ready to kick some ass. "Come on you sons of bitches do you want to live forever?" Arguably all those who rallied to that cry will live forever.
My grand father was a Navy sailor, he was in the bay of pigs and the first years of Vietnam. My uncle was a Marine in the first gulf war. His son and step son were sailors in the second Gulf war. I was an EMT who went to a USMC/USN military school.
The algorithm taketh away, the algorithm giveth, hoping I'm about to stumble upon about a weekend's worth of Sabaton videos to warm my heart like this one did
Excellent reaction. I highly recommend you watch the Sabaton History Channel episode that covers the story behind this song. Sabaton is touring the US this year with Judas Priest, maybe you can go and see them live, their live shows are fantastic.
Just for the sake of interest, the video clip from Sabaton has subtitles in the Czech language. I look at the response in English and then notice my native language. So damn good job😃
leather neck i think is the oldest term for the marines from the barbary wars to protect from pirate sword cuts the marines wore leather collars to protect their necks
You so need to do a reaction video to the Sabaton History Channel's on this song . just have a snack pack of crayons handy lol Sorry old Army Grunt here
Honestly mate There’s nothing wrong with puffing your chest out and being a bit proud of yourself and your unit and your units history, whilst I’m unfortunately not and never was a serving member of the British military outside of sea cadets, to you the term devil dog is to us how we feel about our colors or banners, where it’s a point of reference and a marker of our pride and history of the achievements and accomplishments that that unit has earned and fought for and again whilst I’m not in the military itself, I have had a long time love for the military and the sort of military sub cultures that are born within different units, down to individual squads, be it a shared belief or squad history and so forth
To add to the Marine involvement in the Battle of Belleau Wood, Allied lines at this point had faltered and the Germans were advancing towards Paris. Had the Germans done so, they'd have had a second chance in this war. Unfortunately, the only thing in their way were the "Teufelshunde". To put it simply, the Germans did not get their second chance.
Yeah its a great tribute song to u devil dogs... its a great song... Hm... could u soon react to Sabaton - Royal Guard? In english with video xD so u can see their tribute to sweden's royal guard.. they made it for their 500 year anniversary
I LOVE this song. As a patriotic American and someone who wanted to serve but was unable i wanted to be a marine. When brother wanted to join but was unsure what branch, i kind of convinced him to become the best of the best, and he was and always will be, a marine. I couldn't be more proud 😁😁
I have a question, why is it called marines, in Sweden the marine are ships of war and if I am correct you dont serve on ships? The closest thing we have is coast hunters, specially hard trained soldiers, who are very good trained soldiers who are doing the hardest missions like under water and blowing things up behind enemy lines. Greetings from a old Swedish soldier.
So the Marines were formed as a department of the U.S Navy. They were first placed on naval ships as sharpshooters in the ships rigging. They were also the ones that would go to shore from the ships during raids. Same in WW2 when the Mike boats who were operated by naval petty officers would be bringing Marines to shore. We fight our countries battles in the air, on land, and sea!
First of all I have the deepest respect for all military Veterans from whatever country that they come from like yourself. But there is just a weird obsession with people who come from the United States that makes us British and the rest of our European friends scratch their head and makes us laugh at American's, why do American's put English subtitles on at a video with the words of the song already on the video plus why put English subtitles on at someone who is singing or speaking in clear English that us British, Irish and other European's from other countries who speak English and understand what the person is singing or saying. I am a Sabaton fan from England and I understand everything that Joakim from Sabaton is singing or speaking without subtitles. I have been to Sweden and other European countries where citizens of those countries who speak English I can understand completely what they say. The only time I have trouble is when they speak there own language, like if Joakim is speaking Swedish then I put on subtitles but apart from that I understand everything that any one from any country speaks English apart from American's especially young Black people who have their own language that has absolutely nothing to do with English then I need subtitles come to think of it that goes for all young Americans of any ethnicity including White. BRITISH SABATON FAN 💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️💂♂️🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴🏴🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪💙💛🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦
Worst song on the album by far. If I'd start to pick songs from sabaton about my country...well talvisota is not that good. White death is ok and soldier of 3 armies is one of their best by music. And yea, veteran here too or what ever that means. Every man or let's say 90% here goes to army bc it's mandatory. Nobody comes to say "thanks for your service". If you have combat experience I'm sorry for you. Must have been terrible. Especially when you have no idea why you are doing that or if you are that brainwashed that it somehow helps murica...no. Maybe companies who steal resources from that country but that doesn't really help your country. It helps already rich. Yea, bit of a rant but i really skip this song always. Only 1 on that album. Great album about great war...
I appreciate your view. While I have my own reasons for volunteering to serve my country and I'm very proud to say I did, I understand that not everyone shares that feeling with me. Make no mistake I don't think America is perfect in any way but I am proud to be an American. I have been in other countries with men and women who had mandatory service and understood that not all of them wanted to be there. I am a Devil Dog and I appreciate Sabaton looking beyond their own home to write and perform songs about different cultures. I can also understand that this song may not resonate with everyone, but it is special to me. Thanks again for the thoughts and opinions!! Stay Good!!
Being a Marine I highly recommend you check out the video The Fat Electrician did on the most gangster Marine of all time Dan Daly.
This is what Sabaton does, they take a good story and makes badass music about it while instilling pride to whoever is listening.
They are masters of their craft!
Honorably discharged Marine here. I got goosebumps too. the unit I belonged to was deactivated in 2012
Q battery 5th battalion 10th Marine Regiment.
I KNEW you would love this song. I've yet to see a former Marine react to this video without feeling the pride it deserves.
I'm from Sweden and this is one of my favorite Sabaton songs, it's so fast paced and in your face and pumps you full of energy. If you want another good one you ought to check out "82:nd all the way", about Alvin York, also a fantastic song.
Can't wait to show my Marine husband. Thank you for bringing this to us.
not a marine but a veteran of 20 years in swedish special forces as of 1 month from now, but this hits me hard aswell.
They have another song called camouflage that would be up your alley
Thank you for your service. ❤
I appreciate that

Being from Sweden, during my time we had these guys running more or less all of the time, and happy to share them with all the brothers
They are on tour right now dude tickets are high because they are with Judas priest but dude they are amazing and the show is even better
It was plain to see the emotions you were feeling. Sabaton do this brilliantly. Happy New Year from UK❤
What about Tommy's Ave Maria? Won't affect your BP....lots of fun😅
Wow, thank you!
I will be doing that one soon!!
Its an honor for all soldiers 😊

Thank you for your service!
What a good reaction! I could see that he was so proud that his pride was oozing from my screen! Well, I can guess how smug he was when he presented this "Exhibit A" to his father to settle this discussion for good.
Was nice to see you so happy.😂 Sabaton has a great music catalogue. 🌹

Yes they do

this was awesome, i never heard the story of the devil dogs.

We've all seen things that we don't talk about unless it's to each other, but we all understand each other. Bunch of devil dogs, squids, and doc's
Thanks for your service 🇺🇸 appreciate the history lesson from you & Sabaton
Thanks for watching!
The algorithm taketh away, the algorithm giveth, hoping I'm about to stumble upon about a weekend's worth of Sabaton videos to warm my heart like this one did
To be fair, I'm from Brazil, but I think I heard more about the marines and the... "Antics" they have than any other US of A military forces.
Excellent reaction. I highly recommend you watch the Sabaton History Channel episode that covers the story behind this song. Sabaton is touring the US this year with Judas Priest, maybe you can go and see them live, their live shows are fantastic.

The lead singer is half Czech
the one who said that bad ass saying was Dan Daley
leather neck i think is the oldest term for the marines from the barbary wars to protect from pirate sword cuts the marines wore leather collars to protect their necks
Yes, that’s the term I’m most familiar with for the US Marines. Cheers!
You so need to do a reaction video to the Sabaton History Channel's on this song . just have a snack pack of crayons handy lol Sorry old Army Grunt here
show your friends this version of the song ruclips.net/video/sphuv7tTNKs/видео.html&ab_channel=Sabaton

The last Stand by Dan Vasc sorry you know it’s a must
Fun fact this is one of (if not the only) Sabaton song with a swear word in it
Honestly mate

You should react to videos from The Fat Electrician starting with his video about Dan Daly, the most gangster marine of all time.

You can set the language at the bottom to English. Trying to be helpful - hope you don't mind me mentioning.
