My sister and I are just starting out and we’ve had some up and down shows, so it’s nice to know it’s a normal thing, it’s easy to get discouraged. You’re doing so well, good luck with your upcoming shows! 😊

I love all of it. Especially the white bunny! My mom did craft fairs for a lot of years with her quilted and stuffed items. It is a lot of work, but she always enjoyed the whole process.
Just found this site & LOVE IT! My Grandmother taught me to knit & crochet when I was 8 or 9. When in high school never finished baby sweater I'd been making for a friend. Gramma finished it & years later gave it to me when I had a little girl. Fast forward many years & was PG again when I once again got hooked! Pun is intended! Ha. Taking care of sick Mom left all my hobbies in the past. Now I see you & I know it's been awhile but am wondering, HOW DO YOU DO THAT? Amazing! You crochet beautifully & make things I can't even begin to guess how to make! If you have patterns for sale, ring me up! Keep up the good work, Honey, you're gonna do great, we're ALL rooting for you! And not to sound old (which I am, or cliche), but, YOU GO GIRL! Thank you, Dawn ✌️🤘
A bit of free advise for getting more sales: When you THINK you have enough inventory times that by 10 !! I have had people follow me and admire items for over a year and it sometimes takes them seeing that ONE item that made them finally bite the bullet so to speak and make that purchase and the quality of the products spoke for themselves and they became a repeat customer. Have all price points covered. Also maybe try (just an Example YOU insert your own price obviously lol) 1 for $5.99 2 for $10 this will encourage parents with 2 children to go ahead and purchase 2 items from you. The more stock you have the more apt people are drawn into your area. I'm not saying be sloppy overstocked I'm just saying FULL like REALLY FULL. We have to realize that every sale we have is an "impulse buy" so we have to make them want to reach into their wallets. ONE mistake I've made it NOT having my card reader turned on for the event during my set up. It never fails I have people trying to "shop" while I"m still setting up and I have lost sales as annoying as these people are it was still a sale I lost out on because they do NOT come back around again. So now I unload my trailer and the card reader is the first thing I get logged into and have it up and running. Best of luck, your items are adorable! My grandkids would definitely be fans!! OH one other thing lol Know your audience. If you are doing the farm market you mentioned animals there etc. Do items specialized to that event mini chicks or chickens would have been adorable maybe even a mini pig (farm type animals). I definitely have the items specialized to that even up front and visible. I do hot air balloon festivals and I make several items with hot air balloons on then and put them right up front. :)
Wow that is awesome advice! Thank you so much for taking the time to write that out! I have definitely noticed that a lack of inventory has prevented me from selling as much, so I've been working on catching up with that to fix that! I will definitely be sure to remember your advice going forward🥰
You are so right about the learning curve with doing craft fairs. I've been doing craft fairs for almost 3 years now and they are so unpredictable, where they've been packed and no one buys anything and others that are so slow but I make 3-5x my booth fee. I love doing them but they are so unpredictable as an income source 🙄
I knew exactly which axolotl it was before you showed it because I came across the same one. I love the body base and use my own freehand way of doing the head and tail fins. My local market customers love them!!
@@reigningcharmz Another adorable alternative I have seen is using crochet flowers as the head frills. I haven't tried it yet, so no idea if it works with that particular pattern.
Your stuff looks great and I love your set up! Also, you can accept contactless payments through the square app if you have an android or iPhone. I’m sad though because in Ireland, this feature is only available on android and I have an iPhone. Luckily not many people have asked to pay by card, and if they did they paid with Revolut or cash. That's right! I forgot you could do contactless payments as well! But you definitely don't have to invest in a $200 card reader to take the payments! Square has the little $5 reader for the iphone where you just slide the card. They will send you a free one too just for signing up for square. But even so, the swipe reader is only $5 and cards with chips in them will work with it!
@@reigningcharmz Thanks for the advice, but those readers aren’t available in Ireland. They only have the more expensive ones. I might eventually invest into a card reader. I’ve only done 2 markets first, so I want to pay back the display items, table and pop up gazebo first.

I am actually thinking about starting my own crochet/knitting business based off of being more eco-friendly and sustainable. Do you have any suggestions?
That’s an excellent idea! I think the best place to focus on is the packaging, because often times we use a lot of it, but it just gets tossed as soon as the customer receives it, so I would try to find ways you can make that more sustainable, whether it’s materials that easily breakdown, or items that can be re-used ☺️
I just found your page. I am also from Oklahoma. How do you find your craft fairs? I was supposed to attend my first craft fair last weekend but it got canceled because of the bad storms.
Oooh hello!! Glad to have you here! I find my craft fairs mostly on Facebook in the Facebook groups! I joined one called “Oklahoma Craft and Vendor Shows” and I find a lot there. Then, I also ask around at my craft fairs when I’m there to see what shows they liked and had good traffic☺️
Hi! So I use baby bee from hobby lobby and now I’m also starting to use sweet snuggles from Michael’s! I know hobbi (online store) also sells some popular fluffy yarn as well!☺️
I have just bought your jellyfish pattern and am enjoying making it. I wanted to ask how u record cash sales at a craft fair? I have a card reader (sum up) and the app will let me track inventory etc for card payments. My first craft fair, I struggled to keep track of cash sales, so was looking for some tips.
Aw yayy! I’m so glad you like the pattern! I use square for all of my sales, and on the app I can select the transaction as a cash transaction instead of card so it gets recorded that way! Before that, I had to write down all my transactions to keep track. Hope this helps!☺️
@@reigningcharmz just realised that my card reader does accept cash as a payment type so I can track my inventory that way. Thanks for the tip! Looking forward to watching your Q&A video.
I love the triceratops army!! Chunky shrooms are some of my favorites to make. Haven’t sold at markets yet but excited to do so. Do you set the taxes aside for later or does it automatically come out? Also! How do you calculate your gas? 😅😅
Yess they are all so cute!! So for the last fair, I used square for all of my transactions (even cash) so square kept track of the sales tax for me. (You put your state's tax rate into square and it'll add it to your transactions. For my state, its 4.5%). But, before square, I kept track of my total sales, and then when it was over, I multiplied my total sales times 0.045 (4.5% tax rate) to get the sales tax I would have to pay! For calculating my gas, I write down what the total miles are to get to and from the venue, (so let's say it's 35 miles round trip). Then, I know how many miles to the gallon my car has. It is roughly about 35 miles per gallon. My gas price per gallon at the gas station is about $3.50. So I basically used one gallon in this example, which would cost $3.50. If it were more or less miles, you divide the total miles by the cars average miles per gallon, then multiply that number by how much a gallon costs at the pump. Another example -- 55 miles round trip/35 miles to the gallon = roughly 1.6 gallons of gas * $3.50 a gallon = $5.60 in gas. Hope this helped!

I freaked out because my daughter told me that your name is charis and her name is charis
Haha that’s awesome! Mine is spelled with a “K” (Karis), but it’s a very rare name to come across! Tell her welcome to the exclusive group, we’re glad to have her!😂🥰
Horse auction 🤨😖😒
About the ex, the face was just not placed in the right place, the sides parts too im pretty sure.
That’s entirely possible😅
I don’t know where you are, but cats in your crochet projects, isn’t the best thing. If you sell these to people that are allergic to pets will give that person an allergic reaction. Maybe think on the people you are selling to. Lovely items, but if I knew you did it around pets, I wouldn’t buy them from you.
Youre so overreacting???
