Rest in peace Penny. You and Secretariat have inspired not only me but thousands more people. I wished I could have met you to talk and hear your story. You've inspired me to chase my dreams and never look back when you start running the race. I hope your final moments were joyous and you left with no regrets. Please say Hi to Big Red up in heaven for us. Both your memorie will live on in the hearts and minds of those who loved you. And in the movie you created. You like Big Red. Are immortality ingrained into the hearts and minds of every horse lover. Thank you for everything you have done for us.
What a beautiful tribute to both Secretariat, the gorgeous, tremendous machine, and Penny, his obviously very proud owner. Your comments still relevant, and always will be.
@@annbolyn4910 beautifully expressed and such a lovely tribute to an amazing woman and her insight and seeing the potential of Big Red even before he was born. Both of their stories are ones for legends and I think their greatness wouldn't have been the story of legend without their bond. I wish she were here for the 50th anniversary of their Triple Crown but I hope they're looking on from heaven. I feel grateful and blessed to have been alive during the Run for the Roses. I hope there's a special tribute this year at the Belmont. ❤️❤️❤️
Miss Penny was a class act she truly was amazing thanks for the memories. Measow Farm was a Historical beautiful Farm in Doswell Virginia the birthplace on March 30, 1970 at ten minutes past midnight of the greatest horse ever Secretariat hero to so many if us during our youth in 1972-1973. Forever remember Secretariat and his stablemate Riva Ridge to horse racing legends thanks for the memories the Meadow is an amazing place in beautiful Historical Doswell Virginia
Penny, thank you for sharing your dream and Secretariat with the universe! You gave, you believed and you conquered! RIP. I dare say that there will never be another you!
She died at 95 so she had a full life. Her father owned and bred Secretariat but he died in January 1973 and did not see his victories in the Triple Crown races. She nevertheless was a remarkable woman and carried on her father's work of breeding and racing horses.
davidw: Penny's father got to see "Riva Ridge" win the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes in 1972 - among the many other victories Riva had. The Derby win alone must have been the greatest thrill of Mr. Chenery's professional life.
That's ridiculous. Without her THERE WOULD'VE BEEN A SECRETARIAT! He was magnificent and would've become a TC Champ without a shred of a doubt! No matter what.
RIP your heart was clearly into these beautiful horses. I guess syndicating breeder rights are selling according to some people. And advocating for the safe retirement of race horses rather than selling them to Mexico for dog meat aint good for some people too. As forest gump said stupid is what stupid does.
Legends NEVER Die! Thank you Penny. What a Wonderful Beautiful Woman
We will never forget you n thank you for giving us Secretariat ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Penny and Secretariat’s Legacy will live on indefinitely!!
So will his Belmont Stakes record winning time. That will last forever.
