Hello friends! Something a little bit different for you tonight - this is a Mallsoft album I put together and released recently that I wanted to share with everyone. It's a bit of an ambient one - I wanted to construct something quite slow and methodical to fit the mood of the mall I visited when putting together the various inspirations for the record. I tried to create the experience of the music being played through speakers across the mall or from a nearby shop front as you walk through and take in the atmosphere. I think my personal favourites were tracks 3 and 4, Geometric Topiary and Deals 4 U, but let me know which are your favourites, I'd love to hear your thoughts! ...and if this isn't your thing, don't worry - there's a new mix coming on Monday as usual which I'm sure will be to everyones tastes, so keep an eye out for that! Gorgeously nostalgic and comforting. The View From The Fountain had *perfect* sound-sculpting, or whatever word applies to conveying the size and shape of a room through the volume and echoes of the music. Instantly brought me back in time to the central fountain at Oakland Mall in Michigan, the most magical place on Earth for me back then. [chef's kiss]
That means the WORLD to hear, thank you so much for those super kind words! You've caught the exact thing I was hoping to achieve with that track - I recorded a mall fountain in person for the background ambience and felt like the music really complimented it. The whole album was really trying to capture that the music was coming from the mall as opposed to being on top of the mall sounds, as if it were playing from a stores PA or similar, so it means so much that someone's picked up on that and has reacted to it in that way, thank you so, so much friend, I'm super glad you enjoyed it! :)

TGI Fridays is not what I expected to see at The Red Gem mall. But it'll work for lunch. Gonna grab some food on the patio, people watch and relax to this soundtrack.

Place is absolutely beautiful! I only visited for the first time the other week but I'd been wanting to take a look for ages, you guys have an absolute gem right there. That central foyer that houses Selfridges is something else!
Omg the Sonic Mega Collection menus sampling at 10:19 and 26:33 hit me with nostalgia like the food critic in Ratatouille! You made me want to go to this mall.

This mall died in 2023. "The Trafford Centre Is Closing Down After 25 Years To Be Transformed Into New Apartments"
That's weird, I visited it a few weeks ago and it was very much still a shopping centre! (That's when this picture was taken)
