@@pappo666 if you don't like Floor Jansen that's really a shame, she's without a doubt one of the best and certainly the most versatile female singers in metal at the moment. She's also an incredibly nice person. If Nightwish isn't your thing perhaps check out ReVamp or Northward. If you liked Russell Allen definitely check out Symphony X. If you're into concept albums then V: The New Mythology Suite might be right up your alley. The Odyssey is also one of their better albums in my opinion.
@@RudyBleeker "that's really a shame" No its not we all have different preferences. "she's without a doubt one of the best and certainly the most versatile female singers" i extremely disagree versatile don't always mean good you better focus on one thing to become really good you know what they say "Jack of all trades, Master of none." plus the singer in jinjer has cleaner vocals and growl better sure i don't like their music but singer vs singer she seems better. "If Nightwish isn't your thing perhaps check out ReVamp or Northward." Nightwish was my favourite band up until Tarja left ive been recommended revamp several times cant stand Floors voice and singing just don't sound good issue i have with Floor is that she don't seem to know what kind of singer she is her growl is lacking and her clean vocals are never really clean and some time she sings false which is never good at all, Nortward never heard about will check out any song recommendations? " If you're into concept albums then V: The New Mythology Suite might be right up your alley. The Odyssey" Thanks for the tip!! no idea what you mean with "concept albums" but ill check both out when i got time also i don't really have a favourite singer since to me it all comes down to mood and genre for pure metal my favourite female singer is by far Angela Gossow man she can growl, Alissa isn't a bad replacement but she is no way near Angela. *EDIT* what i listen to most atm and Female singers i like the most at the moment is Lori Lewis From Therion i simply love "Leviathan" such good atmosphere then Heidi Parviainen from Dark Sarah mainly had "Dance with the dragon" on repeat many times man they give me the chills
@@pappo666 "concept album" means that even thought the album consists of different songs, they're all connected into one large story. Like Avantasia's "The Metal Opera".
@@RudyBleeker well i do love Avantasia's "The Metal Opera" so i guess i do but i rarely listen to lyrics unless they stand out or i love the song so well that i want to learn it. *Edit* i should mention i view the voice as an instrument so what they sing don't matter as long as it sounds good
@@Astaroth236 Everyone have their own favourite of the show. I for instance do not think this was the best song, but it features many of the artists from the video, so would be nice for people to see them live ^^
@@randomstuffzofdoom well it's actually edited... The video I mean, there is a moment when mills is singing with an arm around floor then the next second he is standing 3 meters away from her.. I read somewhere that the was some mistakes on 2 of the 3 shows so they used the audio from the right one and mixed video footage from the three shows.. But what I mean is that is one of the most challenging songs to sing on that concert. Btw Mills owned the full show every time he appeared.. Except the times when.. well.. Floor happened, so much pressence
Floor and Arjen have a long story of collaborations. She and her sister Irene were part of Arjen's Star One project when they were like 17-18, and both have been featured in almost every Ayreon record, and even performed live on the few Ayreon Universe shows. Quite a prog-rock wormhole you've found yourself there, Chase. I reccomend doing a live song now, from either the Ayreon Universe or the Electric Castle shows, that really capture the power of the band behind the mind.
that kind of sucks to hear i Loved the song and the ambiance until Floor came, Tobias Sammet was the highlight for me was so stuck on Avantasia many years back had "The Tower and Farewell" on repeat almost whole days
Here is a list of the composer and singers in order of appearance: Arjen Lucassen - Composer - Dutch singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer best known for his long-running progressive metal/rock opera project Ayreon. James Labrie - Lead singer for Dream Theatre. Tommy Karevik - Lead singer of Kamelot and Seventh Wonder. Tommy Rodgers - Lead singer of Between the Buried and Me. Simone Simmons - Lead singer of Epica. Nils K. Rue - Lead singer of Pagan's Mind and also worked with Eidolon. Tobias Sammet - Lead singer of Edguy & Avantasia. Hansi Kürsch - Lead singer of Blind Guardian. Mike Mills - Multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and main songwriter for Toehider. Russell Allen - Lead singer of Symphony X. Michael Eriksen - Lead singer of Circus Maximus. Floor Jansen - Lead singer of After Forever, ReVamp & now Nightwish. Next I would suggest reacting to the performances at Ayreon Universe concert, especially the following Intergalactic Space Crusaders, River of Time, Merlin's Will, Valley of the Queens, Ride the Comet, Star of Sirrah, And the Druids Turn to Stone, Age of Shadows & Everybody Dies. Also Arjen is very accessible, so once you have listened to several Ayreon songs, maybe you could reach out to him.
did you know that Ayreon mean "No Year" to signify the fact that there is no such thing as a year. The seasons flow like a mucus out of a nose, and the nostrils lead down to the throat of the word where the chords (of the song) live, from their the beautiful music that resonates through the body is released. We ascend into the world know as Fleur. Where a sole drum-kit awaits, it is a cymbal of what is coming. A young man named Tom. And while many a beautiful bass note may ensnare him, he will never stray. Not until he kicks the bucket, then it will all come crashing down, but do not fear, for he will ride the waves of the sea of souls into the afterlife.
- James LaBrie (Dream Theater) as The Historian - Tommy Karevik (Kamelot) as The Opposition - Tommy Rogers (Between The Buried And Me) as The Chemist - Simone Simons (Epica) as The Counselor - Nils K. It's hard to describe the project accurately without sounding over the top, but every description I can think of just doesn't do it justice. There's SO MUCH to explore
Due to the nature of Ayreon it's primarely a studio project, but there was the Ayreon Universe concerts a couple of years ago - and it's great. There's a playlist so you can watch the whole concert even though the indivuel videos only cover one song. It would be amazing to have you react to the whole thing (you could do it one song at the time -the two short ones can be done together with the next one with ease) but at least you should do "Everbody Dies". I could point to others but I would just end up naming them all :)
For your next Ayreon song, it's an easy easy insta pick. "Everybody Dies" live, if you liked this, you will get a wicked kick out of that one! AND it's live!
Just the short note on Ayreon. Its the project of Dutch producer, writer, singer an multi instrumentalist Arjen Anthony Lucassen. He started this project in the 90s and has had over 80 different singers on his now 9(double) albums. His albums are scifi stories, and most of them combined are creating the bigger story called the Ayreon Universe. Beside Ayreon he has other projects: Star One, Stream of Passion, Ambeon, Gentle Storm, Guilt Machine and some solo stuff.
Oh lord we're here. 3 of my top 5 Band's singers in this one song (Simone from Epica, Hansi from Blind Guardian, Tobias from Avantasia) As well as a whole host of incredible musicians all around.
I haven't seen "Day Sixteen: Loser" being mentioned as one of the songs to listen to after this one. Arjen takes you on a journey like nobody else. Past, future, other planets, dimensions or the human mind. Where would you like to go? There are so many treasures to uncover and perspectives to gain. Fantastic bedtime stories! Glad I wasn't the only one to suggest this introduction. Enjoy the ride, and the many MANY paths to other artists that open up to you by diving into Arjen's project
one of the coolest things about that album is how the frame of it reveals it to all have been a simulation of the human experience, and part of the larger Ayreon scifi storyline. we're being taken through this dramatic narrative because the Mars Colony's Dream Sequencer is using it to regain an understanding of human emotions to restore the Forever people (humanity's progenitors) to what they were before they essentially lost their souls to their technology.
I feel like a kid that sneaked in and grabbed a present under the Christmas tree early. What a great surprise to have this great song done here on this great channel. It didn't disappoint in the least. This is also a great platform to go on from. Not just with Ayreon itself but also to find out more about the other artists. I found out about Toehider from this song and Mike Mills is definitely crazy talented. Tobias Sammet's Avantasia is a similar project to this, by the way. Both doing metal operas with singers playing a set part in a larger story.
I only recently discovered Ayreon, myself. (Thank you, Pandemic). I think these reaction videos, in addition to be educational, are fundamentally a way to reach out to a diaspora and share what we discover and love with others. Like so many others, this piece of art (a collage, really) has an effect I call synchronous goosebumps, showing just how fundamental music is to being human, that we share such similar responses to specific parts of the music. Thanks for sharing your experience!
@@ChaseCarneson They did this live as the final encore for this year's live shows. If you want to revisit it, the video should come out some time last year. And I wouldn't be surprised if Arjen puts the live TDTTWBD on the official RUclips Channel. Besides that, Ayreon should definitely be covered on the channel again. There is so much to talk about production wise. Even, or especially with the live videos.
Nahhh... "Get out. Now!" from the new album Transitus. Dee Snider, Tommy Karevik and Joe Satriani. Or "Daniel's decent into Transitus" With Tommy and Simone.
“Avantasia. Don’t know them.” Well, well.. You’ve got quite a few real treats ahead of you I see. Please react to “Reach Out for the Light”, “I Don’t Believe in Your Love” or “Another Angel Down” - either one preferably taken from Avantasia’s Flying Opera DVD. And of course you should keep doing Ayreon.
I came down here to make this exact comment. Although the Wicked Symphony, Let the Storm Descend upon You, or Raven Child would be good options as well.
This is the Christmas/birthday present that I needed! Hope you understand why I've been spamming this song in your comments for the last 7 months 😂 Can't wait for you to meet Avantasia and Symphony X!
The man on the Grand Piano midway through, Joost van de Broek, is a big part of Arjen's stuff, as he is a masterful producer, mixer, and arranger. He worked with Floor in her earlier days as the keyboardist for After Forever, and has worked with many other groups, such as Epica and Powerwolf. Edit: The Eye of Ra will blow your mind...
20:40 whoever hears and recognizes Hansi's voice, has my respect! He's so underrated. But then again even a musically huge project such as Ayreon still doesn't get the deserved recognition... Pop is not bad, but the music industry that makes it is.
Finally! It's about time ;) Super reaction. FYI: Avantasia is an all-star project by German metal singer, composer and producer Tobias Sammet, who became known as the singer of the metal band Edguy. Very well known in Germany. The Raven Child from the new album Moonglow would be a listen. Great compositions and fat riffs go hand in hand here. It's worth it! Quick question: are you taking part in the virtual concert "An evening with Nightwish"?
I'm glad you finally listened 😉 (asking this for many months now). Just one little remark ........ covering this one would make it just a bit better with Julia at your side !! But ..... there're enough instrumental parts to talk about. I think you gonna like it a lot !! It's completely different from what you're used to. And .....be sure to get a reaction of the master himself !!
so dude, you need to do some Symphony X over here asap! considering most of your reactions, you're gonna love them, and rightfully so cause they are tier 1 masters of their craft, musicianship and songwriting-wise. + they have sir Russell on the vocals which can only be a massive plus (not to mention the other guys). i'd suggest at the very least a 5 video overview so you can grasp the scope of their genius, maybe starting with more "traditional" pieces (which are still remarkable songs, like Set the world on fire or Inferno) and in the end checking some of their epic masterpieces (The Odyssey, Divine wings of tragedy or Through the looking glass). i personally guarantee you'll add them to your main playlist instantly :)
I'm sure someone already said it but if you want to hear more from Mike Mills, try Ayreon - Everybody dies from Ayreon Universe. His voice spans 4 octaves and he's not human :-) That is a killer song too. Features Hansi and Tommy too, by the way
That was a 48 layer voice layer... Toehider is even better... Listen yo the song What ever make you feel superior... that will make you love this guy forever
OMG, I can't believe this! I wanted you to react to this so much! I'm just discovered my love for Ayreon two weeks ago and I'm in awe! Totally in love and currently listening The Final Experiment 👌 Greetings from Chile 💕
Arjen wasn't aware that Floor (Toumas as well) aspired to become a biologist, before joining After Forever, when he cast her as the "Biologist". Check out "Everybody Dies" from the album. Joost (on piano) was Floor's After Forever bandmate and he is currently working with her on some solo numbers.
If Ghost Love Score is the entrance to the Nightwish rabbit hole, then this song is the top of the hole for Ayreon. Not just Ayreon, but the main gigs for all the other featured artists involved.
So now you got introduced to Tobias Sammet from Avantasia. It's definately time for Avantasia's "The scarecrow (The flying opera)" live from Wacken. You won't regret!
I'm very sorry to say this but that's not going to happen. Sonny von Cleveland recently did an interview with Arjen where he suggested this to him as well, but Arjen was very clear that his creative process is very individualistic, he does all the writing (story, music and lyrics) by himself, alone. I believe that's the same with Tuomas actually. So let's just let Arjen do Arjen things, and Tuomas do Tuomas things, and we get to appreciate it all
Videos like this one are so cool because you get all of the thought process and intentions to the build of the song. Then Chase explains what everything means so I can understand. Well done and thanks Chase.
I had to pause, go back, and listen to that again (after I stopped laughing) when I heard " I've always said: a jazz band is just a blues band that fell down the stairs." That is the funniest thing I've heard in a week.
Chase, I am sure that this reaction will be amazing. I would REALLY love you to see Everybody dies and Age of shadows from Ayreon. Both of them have a little surprise!
Hi from South Africa 🇿🇦This was epic reaction Chase. Always love watching your reactions. Can you please react to Ayreon Everybody Dies and Eye of Ra. Floor's sister sings on Eyes of Ra with Floor.🙏😊
Love this guy's work - Intergalactic Space Crusaders, Castle Hall, Twisted Coil, Valley of the Queens, Druids Turn to Stone are all masterpieces - especially the live versions. If you want to see Arjen play live (a rare event I'm told) check out the live version of Amazing Flight in Space - the one with him opening the song playing guitar not the other one where he merely sings.
FYI: main guest singers [James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Tommy Karevik (Kamelot, Seventh Wonder), Tommy Rogers (Between the Buried and Me) , Simone Simons (Epica), Nils K. Rue (Pagan's Mind), Tobias Sammet (Edguy, Avantasia), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Mike Mills (Toehider), Russell Allen (Symphony X), Michael Eriksen (Circus Maximus), Floor Jansen (Nightwish)]
If you want to really get to know Ayreon's breadth of stuff he's done and how he can do things live (as well as the many people he managed to get together) take a listen to this playlist on youtube: ruclips.net/p/PLJGn3wi7b7b606GfoKAdOgm6rtX9OliRc It is a great summary of all the stuff he has done over the course of his albums and features so many great musicians and singers, including Floor Jansen of course, but also her sister in the background choir and so many others. It's probably some of the best hours of my life. I'm still bummed I never managed to get tickets cause it was sold out so fast...
it was a clusterfuck..... a good clusterfuck shame he only really toke "power metal style" singers tho some growling as would been awesome like Sylvain Houde or Johan Hegg or my personal favorite atm Nicholas Calonne (its not metal without growling)
@@pappo666 that's a very shallow and limiting (and historically wrong lol) take on metal vocals. however, you still deserve a chance to hear the great growl work of Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt on Ayreon's album "The Human Equation." on that album, which tells the story of a man in a coma confronting his emotions and the experiences and trauma that led him there, most of the guest vocalists play the personification of a different emotion. Mikael does some of his best ever growls, and great clean singing too, as the voice of Fear. you can also hear great screams from Devon Townshend as the voice of Pain (i recommend listening to the song Day Three: Pain if you don't care to listen to the album in order as intended for the full story).
@@jedinxf7 " that's a very shallow and limiting (and historically wrong lol) " This might be true i know older metal didnt have much growling but i love a more aggressive sound like Pantera not really growling but also not clean singing Phil had great grit in his voice also Historically wrong or right dont really matter its my opinion. "you still deserve a chance to hear the great growl work of Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt on Ayreon's album "The Human Equation." Cant say i ever got into listening to Opeth but sure can give it a try i am VERY picky in terms of music it has to be just perfect for my taste if not it can go. starting to feel that an old school metal fan like me has a very different taste in music then what is "normal" these days and yes i know opeth is an old band i obviously dont mean i like all older bands... (i know someone would think / say that) -.-
@@pappo666 if the 90's is "old school" in your mind then you are a kid lol. as you mature you'll find that narrowing your musical horizons with preconceptions just deprives you of opportunities to enjoy more music. I used to think a metal song without a guitar solo was just numetal trash meant to get airplay on American radio stations for the lowest common denominator. but it turns out there are a lot of ways to incorporate guitar (or any instrument) into metal and no particular compositional format deserves dogmatic enforcement. (St. Anger was still trash but for other reasons.) likewise, a lot of power and prog metal fans deprive themselves of hearing great stuff because they can't get into anything with growled or screamed vocals. the reverse is no better; you're missing out. it's your choice, of course, but expanding your musical horizons is a choice that you'll only be happy to have made later. and it doesn't happen automatically; most people never step outside their comfort zone at all, and the bands they liked when they were in their late 20s are the last bands they ever like. I'd have missed out on a lot with that approach.
@@jedinxf7 "if the 90's is "old school" in your mind then you are a kid lol." The LOGICAL next step!! Michael, Tommy and Hansi again, the mighty chorus with Irene, Lisette and Marcela.. And a very gritty voice called Magali Luijten.
Hey Chase! You haven’t done Avantasia yet? Wow! You have a lot to look forward to! Mr Sammet is amazing. You should check out: The Raven Child - Avantasia Farewell - Avantasia
A less common suggestion: Talk of the Town by Ayreon. It's from the most recent album, Transitus, and I don't think anyone has reacted to it yet so you'd be ahead of the curve. :) It's got a nice video with lots of shots of the musicians and singers, though you will have to check description for the shout outs. Also, it features the hurdy gurdy! You gotta have a hurdy gurdy song on your channel Some other good ones from that album are This Human Equation, if you'd like to see Simone as an adorable angel of death, and Get Out! Now! If you want to see someone ask Dee Snyder how he got so..... Twisted ;)
Not to forget: "Listen to My story" or "Daniels descent into transistus medley" as the official lyrics video is called. Another favourite is Garden of emotions from the Electric Castle and other stories live. Even more of the great Simone!
@@Hermaticlus oh, absolutely Listen to My Story is my favorite song on the album, I LOVE the metal swing of it and your story is over, I'm just hedging my bets on songs without videos or that haven't been performed live. Same with garden of emotion, though if I could pick any song from castle it would probably come down to rainbow bridge, the Castle Hall, or the two gates
@@Hermaticlus oh wow, I somehow never realized the medley video included listen to my story!!! It came out after the album and I just... Never watched it. In that case I DEFINITELY recommend it
My favorite! 🎉 Arjen Lucassen, dutch and friend of Floor, is the mastermind behind Ayreon. He writes rock opera’s and then invites musicians from all over the world to join his project. They are all great artists. If you liked it, check out the Universe concert they did in the Netherlands, the whole concert is amazing. For sure you will enjoy it! It features Floor and her sister Irene Jansen. Good live songs are: Merlin’s will Dawn of a million souls Valley of the Queens Everybody dies Age of shadows and The eye of Ra
A jazz band is a blues band that fell down the stairs! Hahaha, that nearly killed me. Don't think I've heard that before! And I'm a jazz guy (do love blues too, mind you), including improvisational jazz. So if I'm honest, I have to say I get it. lol Looking forward to following you on this Ayreon journey, Chase. I think Arjen is a proper genius. You've got a lot of lovely musical treats ahead of you.
Glad you enjoyed this fine mix and mastery of music. Sounds like you have been exposed to some new bands and musicians, so that is cool. Enjoy and thanks for reacting to this.
Thank you. I'm sorry I/we/Ayreon fans' suggestions became oppressive, and it really is a gift to us for you to do this. This was even better than I could've hoped. It may well be your most edifying video. Honestly, I'm loathe to fanboy over a YTer but apparently I make an exception for you, and it's because you've added so much to my understanding of music. F me you're good.
Russell Alan singing blues, when you discover him through symphony x, is like finding out your favorite investigative journalist is actually superman too. if you want to hear him being bluesy, he has a project called Atomic Soul where that's more his style. Symphony X is a great band but you're going to hear a very different side of him there. though you will still hear a very dark rasp in some songs, some of the best ones - like Inferno: Unleash the Fire. actually, my mind is drawing a blank but the most recent album had an extremely bluesy song, which I absolutely loved but will have to find the name of later. haven't listened in a few months.
Ayreon is a goldmine and you should check some of Mr. Lucassen's other works , like The Gentle Storm, Star One's "Victims of the Modern Age", "Lost in the New Real". A reaction to "The Sixth Extinction" would be really interesting to watch. Happy digging!
Even though I like Nightwish (and absolutely love Floor), but Ayreon has a much higher place on my favorite artists/bands list. Arjen is just the perfect nerdy musical genius and an asset to the prog world. Please react to Opeth, Riverside, and Dream theater, and you'll be on my top 2 reaction channels (not that you care :D )

@@RudyBleeker "that's really a shame"
No its not we all have different preferences.
"she's without a doubt one of the best and certainly the most versatile female singers"
i extremely disagree versatile don't always mean good you better focus on one thing to become really good you know what they say "Jack of all trades, Master of none." plus the singer in jinjer has cleaner vocals and growl better sure i don't like their music but singer vs singer she seems better.
"If Nightwish isn't your thing perhaps check out ReVamp or Northward."
Nightwish was my favourite band up until Tarja left ive been recommended revamp several times cant stand Floors voice and singing just don't sound good issue i have with Floor is that she don't seem to know what kind of singer she is her growl is lacking and her clean vocals are never really clean and some time she sings false which is never good at all, Nortward never heard about will check out any song recommendations?
" If you're into concept albums then V: The New Mythology Suite might be right up your alley. The Odyssey"
Thanks for the tip!! no idea what you mean with "concept albums" but ill check both out when i got time
also i don't really have a favourite singer since to me it all comes down to mood and genre for pure metal my favourite female singer is by far Angela Gossow man she can growl, Alissa isn't a bad replacement but she is no way near Angela.
*EDIT*
what i listen to most atm and Female singers i like the most at the moment is Lori Lewis From Therion i simply love "Leviathan" such good atmosphere then Heidi Parviainen from Dark Sarah mainly had "Dance with the dragon" on repeat many times man they give me the chills
*Edit* i should mention i view the voice as an instrument so what they sing don't matter as long as it sounds good
Songs to do after this one: All their Ayreon Universe performances, they´re all awesome. I´d start with Everybody Dies :)
Then star of sirrah
But"Everybody dies" was the best of all in Ayreon Universe performances.. better keep it to the end!
Day 13: Loser and Dawn of A Million Souls are good too
Floor and Arjen have a long story of collaborations.
Irene was also lust in the theather equation show. Joost the guy on the piano here was also in After forever with Floor
that kind of sucks to hear i Loved the song and the ambiance until Floor came, Tobias Sammet was the highlight for me was so stuck on Avantasia many years back had "The Tower and Farewell" on repeat almost whole days
Or star 1
Do 'Ayreon - Everybody Dies (Ayreon Universe)' next. You have seen nothing yet. Pack your household!
Here is a list of the composer and singers in order of appearance:
Arjen Lucassen - Composer - Dutch singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist musician and record producer best known for his long-running progressive metal/rock opera project Ayreon.

ACTUALLLYYYYYY.....
did you know that Ayreon mean "No Year" to signify the fact that there is no such thing as a year.

No, this isn’t a rabbit hole. It’s a rabbit warren. Can’t wait.
Fractal approach to youtube...
Just adding the playlist (at least you have something to pick from): ruclips.net/p/PLJGn3wi7b7b606GfoKAdOgm6rtX9OliRc
3 of my top 5 Band's singers in this one song (Simone from Epica, Hansi from Blind Guardian, Tobias from Avantasia)
As well as a whole host of incredible musicians all around.
Day Sixteen : Loser. One of my favorites.
Then comes the question..which performance of Loser? The original, the live performance during the Theater Equation or one from Ayreon universe?
@@razzledazzleist I am partial to the original with Baker and Townsend.
one of the coolest things about that album is how the frame of it reveals it to all have been a simulation of the human experience, and part of the larger Ayreon scifi storyline. we're being taken through this dramatic narrative because the Mars Colony's Dream Sequencer is using it to regain an understanding of human emotions to restore the Forever people (humanity's progenitors) to what they were before they essentially lost their souls to their technology.
WWWHHHAAAAATTTTT?!?!?!!?!!!! IT'S A GODDAMN CHRISTMAS MIRACLE! GOD BLESS US EVERYONE!
Ayreon "Everybody Dies" live. Can't go wrong watching this one next.
Everybody dies live. That is funny and deep at once.
Thank you for watching this!
Next reactions to Age of Shadows, Everybody Dies, Songs of the Ocean, Garden of Emotions, Amazing Flight and The Eye of Ra :)

Nahhh... "Get out. Now!" from the new album Transitus. Dee Snider, Tommy Karevik and Joe Satriani. Or "Daniel's decent into Transitus" With Tommy and Simone.
Definetly adding my vote for Everybody Dies and The Eye of Ra. But really, I don't think one can go wrong with the works of this amazing man :D
Would add "And the Druids turned to stone" from the Ayreon Universe. Goosebumps included
“Avantasia. Don’t know them.”
Well, well..
Avantasia. The Scarecrow ( live ). You will not regret. Trust me.
yaaas, and after that raven child
my ultimate favorite with Avantasia always been The tower with Farewell as close second
I came down here to make this exact comment. Although the Wicked Symphony, Let the Storm Descend upon You, or Raven Child would be good options as well.

Happy Birthday!
Yes to Symphony X!
Countdown to the boxing Day gift of Arjen reacting to Chase reacting to Ayreon...3...2...1...
This :)
Well that was an unexpected journey... wow! Thank you for sharing this!!
Thank you for watching this! 🙏🙏🙏
so dude, you need to do some Symphony X over here asap!
considering most of your reactions, you're gonna love them, and rightfully so cause they are tier 1 masters of their craft, musicianship and songwriting-wise.
Features Hansi and Tommy too, by the way
Everybody Dies, as others are saying is a great start. Live, of course.
( Intergalactic space Crusader ) by ayreon and it is live. Love this song, it will blow you away. And (RIDE THE COMET ) also live.
Absolutely second both suggestions. I mean c'mon, Star One, a whole album's worth of songs about scf-fi TV and film? Yes please! (ISC is Blake's 7!)

I love seeing Chase out of his element. This way he's not just analysing but also enjoying. And yes! Finally Ayreon!!!!
Great analysis👍👌. How about you interview Arjen? Oh yes , more Ayreon please. " THE EYE OF RA. "
We have our Metal Mozart now he meets the Prog Mozart just thinking about what a work between the 2 could be melts my brain.
That would be immense!!!
So now you got introduced to Tobias Sammet from Avantasia. It's definately time for Avantasia's "The scarecrow (The flying opera)" live from Wacken. You won't regret!

It was about time to finally reach Ayreon... The wait will worth it... Christmas gift... Tks Chase!
Oh you're opening that can of fresh Worms:) I so enjoy Aryeon so I hope you will too
I want to see Arjen and Tuomas colab on a complete metal/rock opera.
That's the day that I'm looking foreward to too!!
So let's just let Arjen do Arjen things, and Tuomas do Tuomas things, and we get to appreciate it all
@@RudyBleeker doupled the outcoming music! 😀

Half of the music I listen to daily is because of Ayreon. For me he is the king of metal.
it was a clusterfuck..... a good clusterfuck shame he only really toke "power metal style" singers tho some growling as would been awesome like Sylvain Houde or Johan Hegg or my personal favorite atm Nicholas Calonne (its not metal without growling)
@@jedinxf7 " that's a very shallow and limiting (and historically wrong lol) "
This might be true i know older metal didnt have much growling but i love a more aggressive sound like Pantera not really growling but also not clean singing Phil had great grit in his voice also Historically wrong or right dont really matter its my opinion.
"you still deserve a chance to hear the great growl work of Opeth's Mikael Åkerfeldt on Ayreon's album "The Human Equation."
Cant say i ever got into listening to Opeth but sure can give it a try i am VERY picky in terms of music it has to be just perfect for my taste if not it can go.
starting to feel that an old school metal fan like me has a very different taste in music then what is "normal" these days and yes i know opeth is an old band i obviously dont mean i like all older bands...
@@jedinxf7 "if the 90's is "old school" in your mind then you are a kid lol."
Pantera started 81 same year as metallica XD just toke that as an example since phil isnt really growling but still love his voice i loved metallicas early albums before Dave mustane left to start up Megadeth.

All music is good for someone if you dont share my opinion great if you do even better there are idiots out there who is still listening to justin beaver there is something for everyone so again dont preach you can not prove my taste is bad and neither can i prove that your taste is bad its all subjective... i like what i like and you like what you like deal with it

The Raven Child - Avantasia

My favorite track from this album is easily Run! Apocalypse Run! and I definitely recommend you listen to that when you need to get pumped up!
You gotta have a hurdy gurdy song on your channel
Some other good ones from that album are This Human Equation, if you'd like to see Simone as an adorable angel of death, and Get Out!
I cannot tell you how grateful I am for this message. Thank you 🙏🙏🙏
Russell Alan singing blues, when you discover him through symphony x, is like finding out your favorite investigative journalist is actually superman too. if you want to hear him being bluesy, he has a project called Atomic Soul where that's more his style.
P
Packing a lunch in anticipation to this reaction!
Al-fucking-right, this guy is giving me the same itch that Led Zepplin and PinkFloyd gave me, I like that.
Ayreon songs are dangerous due to information (and talent) overload. Especially for reactors that like to smash that pausebar.
I noticed that you really liked Hansi. What about some Hansi and Marko Hietala duet? Check out Age of shadows! (sorry had to comment again haha!)
Christmas arrived early this year! 🤘🤘🤘
Omg yes, i could cry. I cant wait to watch this
