The first Epic woman fronts a band called Epica, so that tracks. And of course highly recommend you check out Nightwish with Floor Jansen, as suggested by MANY others already, as you’ve not even scratched the surface of her vocal ability in this clip.
I would highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend checking out the last singer's band, Nightwish. Specifically, the live version of Ghost Love Score from Wacken 2013. Floor is one of the most versital singers of our time. She sings in many styles (sometimes in the same song), she has a beautiful tone, a wide range, and incredible power. She sings theater, opera, rock, metal, folk, classical, pop... pretty much anything, and in multiple languages! This song in particular is great in its own right, but the live version w/ Floor is the most reacted to video on RUclips of all time, and I'm sure the NW Army will show up here on your channel in support! Floor puts on a singing clinic that blows everyone out of the water (the fans affectionately call it Floorgasms). ruclips.net/video/JYjIlHWBAVo/видео.htmlsi=VXhvOC4MtuMrzbp4
The world of European metal is extensive, and it is, on the whole, a very tight knit community. Ayreon is certainly worth experiencing more of. Next on tthe list might be "Everybody Dies." Every one of these singers, and their bands, are worthy of another look. But, since I can't go through all of them, let me just suggest that you take a look at the symphonic metal band "Nightwish" whose lead singer, Floor Jansen, was the last singer you heard on this track. The song most people start off with is "Ghost Love Score," the version from the 2013 Wacken Open Air concert. Nightwish is a band best experienced live, like in this performance. As a singer, I think that you will really appreciate what you hear. I took a look at your channel, and I'm going to subscribe in the hopes that this won't be the last European metal music you react to.
Proper singing, killer rock/metal songs, story telling, and an endless library of music?!?! I’ll definitely be checking out more. With the holiday, I’m not sure when I’ll get the next round of videos done, probably Tuesday, Nightwish is the first group on the list.
Ayreon is a musical project by Dutch songwriter, singer, musician and record producer Arjen Anthony Lucassen. Hey David, nice reaction. A lot of the reactors here are a huge fan of the last singer Floor Jansen of the band Nightwish. Please react on Nightwish and start with Ghost Love Score ( Wacken 2013). Always watch Nightwish live. Leadsinger Floor Jansen is for many fans the most versatile female singer of the world. For you as vocalist a very interesting voice. Greetings from The Netherlands.
So happy to see that this music is still reaching new ears and having excellent reactions! New sub and can't wait to see more of your videos/reactions!
Hi David, the first female singer in the video Simone Simons is the lead singer for Dutch symphonic metal band EPICA, absolutely incredible band, check them out this is a song from a show earlier this year in Amsterdam EPICA - Unleashed (Live At The AFAS Live)
This song was pulled of live in September in Tilburg, the Netherlands, the only place where Ayreon live shows take place due to the logistic nightmare of bringing all these vocalists together, who are all lead singers of their own bands. The audience was completely mind blown. Best experience ever!! Edit: Videos of the two previous shows are on YT. Ayreon Universe is a best-of show, where songs from different albums are being played. Into the Electric Castle and other Tales live however should be listened to in the right order as it is a concept album plus a few extras. BTW your Discord link doesn't work.....
Do we know if it was filmed? I would SO have loved to go, but life wanted other things for me, unfortunately. I hope there's an official live flick in the works.
damn I wish I could've been there but arjen announced the shows 3 weeks too late! A friend of mine...whom I introduced to ayreon music went the @#$% but to be fair he did ask me to come with but I had just bought tickets for the wacken open air 3 weeks earlier and couldn't go to europe twice in the span of 6 weeks. He was blown away by the shows
Was that 'recognition' on your face when Floor Jansen came in at the end? Perhaps you've already been exposed to Nightwish (I didn't see them in your Blind Reviews list of videos.) Tha'd be worth a listen after you've toured through some more Ayreon. So many good Ayreon songs to pick from. (All live versions ) Everybody Dies Intergalactic Space Crusaders The Druids Turn to Stone Eye of Ra Twisted Coil .....
I think Michael Mills (the robot) never gets enough love. When Arjen said he's a multi-instrumentalist, he means "plays all the instruments AND sings all the parts" for his band Toehider. He does a "live" (spliced together recordings from his home set-up) performance of How Much For That Dragon's Tooth? That would make Dio himself shed a tear. Like RJD and Freddie Mercury had a secret love child. Plus, there's a four octave range, songs ranging from hilarious to tearjerking, and a hell of a lot of self-taught musical skill. You won't regret it!
Now that you've checked out Floor and Nightwish since you did this reaction I think you might enjoy ( TBH I'd be shocked if you didn't ) checking out another of the singers in this video - Simone Simons and her band Epica . I'd recommend EPICA " SANCTA TERRA " - LIVE RETROSPECT SHOW with Floor Jansen as an interesting start - two superb Dutch vocalists ( and good friends ) for the price of one. Also worth checking out Ayreon's LIVE performances , although they don't happen too often due to the logistics of getting performers who all have their own bands and careers , from all over the world in one place ( Holland ) for several days at a time . They are well worth it ! ENJOY !
Arjen is just so crazy talented... great music, arrangements and of course the assembled talent. I just picked up a project he put together earlier this year, Supersonic Revolution and it is AMAZING. Very 70s Deep Purple hard rock with that amazing Hammond in there as well. Wondering of the charter you are talking about was "Cruise to the Edge"? Great 4-5 day cruise with AMAZING Prog groups. They were already sold out for 2024 before i had a chance to book this year, but hoping to go next year.
Nice reaction! If you want to see the two "girls" singing together, you should listen to Epica: Sancta Terra live 2015 Retrospective Show. And then go on with Floor and Joost ( keyboard and grand piano) and her band After Forever - 2007 Dreamflight live at Progpower Floors band Revamp : -Disdain 2010 live at Graspop Then enter the rabbithole of NIGHTWISH . Floor there started singing in 2012. MOST start with Ghost love score live at Wacken 2013 (First of the big 3) But you can listen to minimum 20 songs and be surprised and blown away everytime. And Floor is doing solo stuff and covers.... So you can hear her incredible versatality. Beste Zangers TV Show 2019 -Phantom of the Opera -Shallow and on her RUclips channel -Alone You won't be disappointed.
All singers and musicians in Ayreon are world-class. The last one, however, Floor Jansen, is considered by many to be the greatest singer of our generation. Check her out in her own band, Nightwish. Ghost Love Score, Live at Wacken 2013 is a good place to start.
if it ain't dutch it ain't much... Welcome in the amazing world of Arjen A. Lucassen Aka Ayreon Universe (Ayreon, Ambeon, Star One, Supersonic Revolution, Guilt Machine, Gentle Storm, Stream of Passion).... Enjoy this 100+ artist thick rabbit hole….!!!!!
This is a true Masterpiece! Excellent casting of singers, and at the end there's queen Floor 👸💗. The genius behind all of this, is "The Tall Hippie Dude", Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the tallest known rock musician (203 cm). ⛄👍
The guy with the Queen 2 harmonies is Michael Mills who is also known as toehider. What will I have to do to get you to react to one of his songs? He has a wealth of material. Any genre. Common denominator is that he writes performs and records everything himself. Hes put out 5 EPs just in 2023...if you want a double whammy of him songing like this you can search up his video here on Yt of his Queen cover of Fairy Felles Masterstroke. One of Queens hardest songs and he nails it so hard it'll blow your moustache right off.
Excellent reaction. For vocal coaches or people who understand the mechanics of singing, Floor Jansen is a gift that keeps on giving. You haven’t heard half of what she can do. Couple that with a genius songwriter and incredible musicians and you’ve got Nightwish.
I love the perplexed look on your face. And yes, I experience the same emotions, no matter how many times I watch it. This master composer and very very very nice guy produced around 30 albums to this day. And the combination of his composing skills and the fact he is a joy to work with lures almost all the top singers of metal and prog into his studio to work with him and enjoy the proces and each others company. He turnes the prog scene into a mutal cooperate group effort. No envy amongst the participants. They love working together and building beauty and being part of this. Is not that an example for the whole of humanity? Simple answer: Yes it is.
Simone Simons, the "epic" singer from Epica, has one of the most angelic voices you will hear. I would suggest listening to Epica's song Rivers, Live from AFAS, with Apocalyptca as guest. She also did a collab with Charlotte Wessels and Myrkur called Sirens - Of Blood and Water. Symphonic and prog-metal have so many amazing voices.
David, I'll bet you love live recordings best of all, so take a look at Hansi Kürsch and his band Blind Guardian playing The Bard's Song and Valhalla at Wacken, almost certainly the best crowd ever caught on camera and a masterclass in versatility from the lead singer. For some really insane notes, bring Dan Vasc and Burn Butcher, Burn 🤘🤘
Mike Mills has an amazing crazy range in his voice.. i think 5 octave if i am not mistaken.. but he can sure hit some seriously high notes.. Watch the Video Everyone Dies and you get to see how high he can get.
I guess you mean “Everybody Dies” from the same album The Source, but performed live at the Ayreon Universe Live show. Get ready to experience 5 main singers and 3 great background vocalists on stage, plusmof course a great number of musicians plus Ed Warby on drums. Check it out! (Btw I’m also a great Nightwish fan, cause Tuomas Holopainen’s compositions plus the band’s excellent musicians are out of this world, not to mention Floor’s dynamite vocals: definitely worth checking out too). Btw Arjen Lucassen has to this day published 30!!! albums, so Ayreon is a very very deep rabbit hole. Don’t worry, his music is sensational and very very diverse!
They performed that whole album live in September, and it was a blast, though it was not the complete lineup from this song due to schedule problems of the vocalists. Can't wait for the Blu Ray to be issued, hopefully you will be reacting to the life performances.
They're in their mid to late 60's and still perform at a high level and sound great. I could be mistaken, but I think drummer Nicko McBrain is 70 or early 70's.
@David: NOW you have to check out the two bands of the female vocalists in this video. Simone Simons from EPICA 😍 and Floor Jansen from NIGHTWISH 🥰. Both singers are from another world (Floor from another universe *lol*)- For Nigthwish "Ghost Love Score" live at Wacken 2013. For Epica "Code of Life" AFAS live. AND for one of the male vocalists, would recommend Hansi's BLIND GUARDIAN "The Bard's song an Valhalla" Wacken 2016 live. Unbelievable crowd 🤩 - but don't blow your mind!!!
Just look at the two (three) live concerts: Ayreon universe live The electric castle live and other tales. (The theater equation). Footage of this years live concert is also available here and there.
Hi from the UK 👋 🇬🇧 both the female singers are in symphonic metal bands and well worth checking out floor jansen in the finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and Simone simons is in the symphonic metal band Epica they are both good friends Nightwish ghost love score wacken open air concert official music video 2013 Epica unleashed live retrospect show (full orchestra on stage with band) And with them both singing together Epica sancta terra with floor jansen live retrospect show

Imho Ayreon is not a band, but a project, and the results are better described as symphonic metal operas. Each album has a storyline and all songs contribute to that. Even within a song, musicians change according to the part they play, mostly the vocalists. If a song is performed by one artist in a live concert, five years later when the same song is performed, there may be other artists doing it. All songs have in common, just like in an opera, the composer, who is Arjen Lucassen. The Day that the world brakes down is shown here in it's official image, with on-line contributions. I cannot wait until the registration of the September 2023 concert comes on sale. This very song will be on it live....
Ayreon is just one of the many projects Arjen has created including the likes of star one and yes he's a sci fi buff. Thanks to Arjen i was intruduced to many great musicians and artists and he's a great story teller ( Should be making movies? )
Ayreon is not a band but a project of the Dutch exremely talented Ajren Lucassen. (guitar, bass and organ) The live shows are EPIC!!! Floor Jansen is the last singer and she is THE BEST female singer of this time, higly classical trained, operatic, but also growls like a big fat dude Nightwish, the Finnish band she sings in is THE BOMB. Ghost love score is always nice to start with live in Wacken, but it does not show all her abilities. Storytime and Romanticide live at Wacken 2013 are songs where you hear her other voices and also Yours is an empty hope live in Wembly.
Hi, found your channel through this video tonight! I saw you noticed Simone Simons appearing quite early in this song. Sooner or later -- hopefully very soon -- you'll get around to listening to her regular band, EPICA. I picked out this song, "Unchain Utopia", as a recommended starting point: ruclips.net/video/M6lIduWjGYo/видео.html BTW, this performance is from EPICA's "Omega Alive" concert, which was their pandemic project -- a concert without an audience, but with a full stage show, so although it might look like just a music video, they are actually playing their instruments in the actual performance.
Nightwish next, please! Most start with Ghost Love score from Wacken 2013, but really, you can't go wrong with any live Nightwish song with Floor Jansen!
I honestly can't believe I haven't yet, he's genuinely one of my favorites in the Ayreon project. Kamelot or Seventh Wonder will be on my list. Thanks again!
I will go against many and recommend Floor Jansen in her first band, After Forever, she has much more songs with them than with Nightwish. and forexample this one: ruclips.net/video/wdb7WsoRIo8/видео.html Forlorn Hope from their album Decipher
The plugs are added in post… I wouldn’t sacrifice one for the other. Trust me, I know it’s annoying, and as a viewer I often find myself trying to fast forward through them… Now that I’m making the content, I understand the necessity even though I dislike it. Cross promotion and subscribe reminders help creators reach more people, and it’s proven in the stats. I know it seems anecdotal and annoying, and for that I apologize. What I can do is find better placement and try to make the plugs a bit shorter so it doesn’t pull the viewer away too much. Thanks again for your input.

“That’s amazing”……welcome to the genius that is Ayreon.
Try ' Everybody dies' live. You will meet some of the cast. You WILL not be disappointed. Sound guy from AUS.😉 🤘🤘🤘
i concur
Agreed
the classic pause after Mike Mills zero ones hahahaha
Nice reaction!
If you want to see the two "girls" singing together, you should listen to Epica: Sancta Terra live 2015 Retrospective Show.
And then go on with Floor and Joost ( keyboard and grand piano) and her band After Forever
- 2007 Dreamflight live at Progpower
Floors band Revamp :
-Disdain 2010 live at Graspop
Then enter the rabbithole of NIGHTWISH .
Floor there started singing in 2012.
MOST start with Ghost love score live at Wacken 2013
(First of the big 3)
But you can listen to minimum 20 songs and be surprised and blown away everytime.
And Floor is doing solo stuff and covers....
So you can hear her incredible versatality.
Beste Zangers TV Show 2019
-Phantom of the Opera
-Shallow
and on her RUclips channel
-Alone
You won't be disappointed.

Just in case you missed it: the tall hippy dude = Arjen Lucassen himself.
This is a true Masterpiece! Excellent casting of singers, and at the end there's queen Floor 👸💗. The genius behind all of this, is "The Tall Hippie Dude", Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the tallest known rock musician (203 cm). ⛄👍
The binary code spells out "Trust TH-1".
" the sixth extinction " was released yesterday. I'd love to watch your reaction!
Michel Mills from Toehider goes all he way up there yes He is phenominal and live like Floor even better!❤
its not a Band its a Project from A.A.Lucasson and he collect the elite from World to make this Masterpiece, greatings from germany
*Arjen Anthony Lucassen, the Dutch genius.
Greetings from The Netherlands
I have seen this song live 🤘 my best cosert moment last year by far 🤘
Don’t worry, his music is sensational and very very diverse!
yes sorry, mistyped and didnt realize it. @@vmaxbabe
They performed that whole album live in September, and it was a blast, though it was not the complete lineup from this song due to schedule problems of the vocalists.
Can't wait for the Blu Ray to be issued, hopefully you will be reacting to the life performances.
next "everybody dies" live universe with a lot of the same singers/performers and an excellent showcase of more of the capabillities of Michael Mills.
Kasey Chambers live in Newcastle performing Lose Yourself is incredible. You should react to it if you haven’t heard it before.
Just look at the two (three) live concerts:
Ayreon universe live
The electric castle live and other tales.
(The theater equation).
Footage of this years live concert is also available here and there.
Hi from the UK 👋 🇬🇧 both the female singers are in symphonic metal bands and well worth checking out floor jansen in the finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish and Simone simons is in the symphonic metal band Epica they are both good friends
Nightwish ghost love score wacken open air concert official music video 2013
Epica unleashed live retrospect show (full orchestra on stage with band)
And with them both singing together Epica sancta terra with floor jansen live retrospect show

Ayreon isn't a band, it's a project.
Subbed in anticipation of Nightwish, Floor Jansen and more Ayreon. They are my 'holy trinity' of music these days. Cheers from Australia.
Falling in love caught on camera :)
listen to Ayreon live, it is like a rock musical... songs like Twisted coil, star of syrrah, druids turned to stone...all amazing
Ayreon is just one of the many projects Arjen has created including the likes of star one and yes he's a sci fi buff. Thanks to Arjen i was intruduced to many great musicians and artists and he's a great story teller ( Should be making movies? )
Fun fact Michael mills character the Android/Computer?. Is called TH-1 and those Binary 001001's translate to Trust TH-1 (How cool is that! )
hahaha that's the only proper reaction to the Mike Mills part :P You get a like for that hahaha
if you watch closly , you can say that Tommy K sings with his hands
I picked out this song, "Unchain Utopia", as a recommended starting point: ruclips.net/video/M6lIduWjGYo/видео.html
BTW, this performance is from EPICA's "Omega Alive" concert, which was their pandemic project -- a concert without an audience, but with a full stage show, so although it might look like just a music video, they are actually playing their instruments in the actual performance.
Nightwish next, please! Most start with Ghost Love score from Wacken 2013, but really, you can't go wrong with any live Nightwish song with Floor Jansen!
Check out Tommy Karevik with either Kamelot or Seventh Wonder....you wont regret it.
I honestly can't believe I haven't yet, he's genuinely one of my favorites in the Ayreon project. Kamelot or Seventh Wonder will be on my list. Thanks again!
Guess you had a few nightmares about your former president ffing everything up😂
I will go against many and recommend Floor Jansen in her first band, After Forever, she has much more songs with them than with Nightwish. and forexample this one: ruclips.net/video/wdb7WsoRIo8/видео.html Forlorn Hope from their album Decipher
Not a single member of Opeth involved. It's absolute heresy.
Åkerfeldt was on “The human equation”.
React to angel of death by Johnnie guilbert
Oh Tommy! Just stop it!
Heavy Metal is the Best Music on this Planet
Michael Mills has an incredible range - its not studio magic, aside from the layering obviously
Yes, it’s wow… would have liked to hear you spend a bit more time on commentary rather than “subscribe” plugs in your breaks though.
Rush did this sort of thing better almost 50 years ago and they only needed one lead singer. 🤔
I've been a big fan of Rush since 1976. I've seen them live 3 times and it was great. But you're comparing apples and oranges
I love this video as it shows the rotating horns on the venerable Leslie Speaker, which was used by bands such as Deep Purple, Uriah Heep etc.
