Morning Patrick, really enjoyed the walk. Who’d have thought so many green spaces so close to such a big city? Looking forward to part two. Thanks as always 👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it Claire. Sheffield is the greenest city in the UK I believe. Many thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Hello Patrick , wonderful walk we are looking forward to part 2 thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it Shaun, thanks as always for watching 👍
Beautiful walk Patrick some lovely buildings looking forward to part two
Thanks Mick, glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching👍
That was such a varied walk. One minute wooded areas then an Abbey, parks, tudor home which looks great to visit and a water tower, similar to the one here in Lincoln. A view over Sheffield for lunch then back onto parks and woods and streets. It's definitely a walk that is a mixture of everything and part two should be great too. I never knew that walk existed either but it looks interesting and fun to do. Thanks so much Patrick for taking us along for the walk. Cheers 🍺
Glad you enjoyed it Kelly. There's a lot to see around Sheffield, lots of parks and green spaces. Part two provides some much more varying landscape around the city too. Thanks Kelly as always for watching and commenting 👍
I live near Abbeydale Road and yet it takes another pair of eyes to truly appreciate what's on my doorstep!
There are so many pleasant walks and greenery. And, perhaps for another time, you went past some tremendous pubs on Chesterfield Road, Abbeydale Road and in the region.
Thanks for a great video.
Thank you for your kind comments and for taking the time to watch, much appreciated! 👍
Thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching 👍
Some interesting old buildings on this walk - buildings I would never have known about but for you. Thanks.
It has some lovely old buildings indeed on this walk as well as lots of lovely green spaces. Thanks Michael for watching 👍
That looks a really good walk, I didn’t realise there was so much woodland around there, I shall have to branch out up there 😀 thanks Patrick
it was new to me too Della, a nice one to film. Thanks for watching 👍

Oh my, you were in my neck of the woods! 🙌🏻 What a great video. 🙂
Nice one, thanks for watching and commenting! 🙂👍
As always, a wonderful video. I have been watching your videos for years now here near Chicago and as I do not have much time to really watch much TV, your videos have often replaced my TV watching. It is good to see Sheffield. I moved from Sheffield to the USA 18 years ago and have visited Sheffield only three times during that period of time so it is always good to see Sheffield and the surrounding areas covered and described so very well. My last visit to Sheffield was in November of 2019 where I got to experience bonfire night for the first time in almost two decades. My next visit will be in just a couple of weeks. July 10th to August 1st. I will have to check out the walk you have shown in this (and the next) video presentation. Many thanks for the great work in producing such fine videos. It is amazing how you do everything yourself. Some of the finest talent in journalism goes unrecognized today. I see that all the time here in Illinois. Your videos are professional grade and I would certainly buy them without hesitation.
Thank you so much for all your kind words, that is lovely of you to say. I appreciate the feedback and glad you enjoy watching the videos. I think Sheffield is a fine city too, lots of green spaces and the Sheffield Round Walk showcases that very well I think. Thanks again and for taking the time to watch 👍
Looks a really lovely walk, often seen the signs on some of my treks but never followed , maybe one for me in future. Thanks for taking us along 👍 from me
Glad you enjoyed it Jay, hope you get to do this walk. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi Patrick this looks a nice walk, I've got a booklet at home with the Sheffield round walk in it and I've always wanted to have a go at it, maybe at some time I might have a go?, I'm looking forward to the next section. atb mate cheers Glenn it's a 👍from me ❤️❤️❤️
Hi Glenn, great to hear from you, hope all is well with you. It's definitely worth giving this walk a go at some point. It's very varied and shows off many of Sheffield's green spaces and old buildings. Thanks for watching Glenn, take care and all the best 👍
Really enjoyed that patrick..looking forward to the second part....we have our own circular walk in preston called the guild wheel 21 miles long myself and lee broke it down into three walks for our group ...Thanks again patrick...regards frank & lee ...
It's a great walk with lots of variety on the way. Thanks Frank and Lee for watching and commenting 👍
Patrick. That reminds me a bit of the steps from Poole's Cavern., up to Solomon's Temple in Buxton.. Great vlog. As always.👍
Nice one Richard. Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching and commenting 👍
Man about all i watch is vlogs from Britian,im an anglo, welsh file from America. But i gotta say your videos are on a different level, the production looks as good as a Hollywood film. You are a talented fella.
Many thanks for your kind words, that is much appreciated. All the best 👍
The Tudor building was lovely and so well preserved! What a shame you couldn’t go in, next time though hopefully!
Bishops House was fab wasn't it. I certainly intend to go back one day. Thanks Steph for watching 👍
Hi Patrick, I live at the ladies spring wood where you started.some superb running routes. This weekend there are round sheffield run races Saturday and Sunday,,Patrick
Nice one Patrick, it's a pretty area that I'm not too familiar with, but I enjoyed filming the walk here. Thanks for watching 👍
Interesting knowing about these city round walks. We recently found a similar Aylesbury Round Walk on holiday. You had good weather. Always helpful for filming. Really love the bossanova tempo music and melody. My kind of music to hear. Lovely film much enjoyed with music.
Morning Shanita, I think these circular city walks are great. Always like good weather when filming 🙂 Glad you liked the music. Was trying something totally different here really, and it continues in the next part. Thanks for your great comments and for watching 👍
@@solitaryrambler
Keep up trying something musically different. I really like the results.
@@CountrysideWalking Many thanks for that Shanita, appreciate the encouragement 👍
That was great; a very diverse range of scenery and so close to civilisation too!! Have to say the climb up Lady Srring wood looked tough, nasty tree roots on the path too I noticed! Did they catch you out? Great music score and your visual editing in this one hugely impressive. Thanks for another superb video, take care and will be viewing part 2 soon!!
That first climb was very steep indeed, but thankfully it was over and done with early on in the walk. Can't remember if I tripped over those roots, but I expect I probably did! Thanks for your kind words Jeff as always and for taking the time to watch 👍
I really enjoyed that Patrick - a refreshing walk. Some city walks are like intersected with country. I think Sheffield is one of the greenest in the country and with parks that size like Meersbrook it's no wonder. I was following on the map. I to enjoyed Bishops House as it retained its age well. As for the view - well simply one we could be entertained by all afternoon. A good lunch spot. There were some nice touches along the way I thought - Anne's community garden being one. Well, Sheffield is a place I could live in I think - greener than Liverpool. I hope you're well up there. Mark
Thanks Mark, yeah Sheffield's definitely got a lot of greenery, so this a lovely walk to do which showcases all of that really. Bishops House is awesome isn't it, shame I couldn't go inside on that occasion, but a return visit will be on the cards methinks. Apparently the Sheffield Round Walk was extended some years back in order to pass through Meersbrook Park just to get that view. Anne's community garden was a lovely little touch beside the main road at that point. All good up here thanks anyway Mark, keep well down there. All the best 👍
@@solitaryrambler Good to hear of the walk and Sheffield Patrick. It's a great name for a walk. Makes me want to step onto it. Glad you're well.
I had to laugh with you walking up that hill at the start Patrick, just like me you need a moment to recover at the top, but knocking on the door of 64 I'm happy to be able to still do hills if somewhat slower.
Anyway a great walk with lots of interesting points along the way, Sheffield is always somewhere we've been meaning to go as we've heard how green the city is.
That was one mega-steep hill Steve, thankfully it was over and down with early in the walk 🙂 Sheffield is my favourite of the cities close to me, certainly worth visiting if you get the chance 👍
Great video, Patrick! It reminded me a little of The Ring Of Trees circular walk around Buxton. Have you tried that yet? I think you’ll enjoy it. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Thank you Phil, your support is much appreciated. I filmed a walk a couple of years ago around Buxton and Solomons Temple, but not the Ring of Trees 👍
Patrick could have run up that hill !!! 🤣🤣🤣 bit steep that one ha !! bit like the woods we done coming back to Bakewell from Ashford in the water pew think its called " Endclif Wood " !! never again haha !! Sheffield round walk ( part 1) looks interesting Patrick, very picturesque ! CO-OP, Morrisons what next ? think i will go on pub crawl with you Patrick you seem to know them all ha!! 🍺🍺
I ran up the hill in the scenes I didn't film Russ!! 🤣🤣🤣 It was bleedin' steep too! Sheffield Round Walk is very varied and shows how green the city it. Aldi next if I can! 🤣👍
Patrick, started out as a Huffer and puffer, other short step walks, Lincoln steep hill, Robin hood bay from bottom, I don't how they get from the pubs, they have a taxi number posted,. Harlech castle from train station, steepest car road in uk, Truro , up to train station, up to castle from dover, walk from lymouth to lynton, no cheating by using tram, it was harder going down from lynton to lymouth, hard on knees taking road, bath roads that are very steep, bottom short uphill cliffs along,. White cliffs of dover, st Margaret's bay, all huffers and puffers short non hill, steep stints, I bet you felt good after the huffing and puffing? 20:54 00
I always feel good after a bit of huffing and puffing Steven. Thankfully that steep climb was over and done with early on in the walk. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍
