My outside handle came off and I have been trying to use the provided wrench to fix the screw to hold the handle but I had forgotten that I had to first put the key in to access that hole. This video saved me a lot of pain! Thank you 🙏
Is there a better model available with a slimmer profile on the exterior side?? The 955 is too "thick" & prevents my Larson storm door from being able to close. 🙄

@@kwikset Thanks anyway for the info, but it didn’t really help to answer my question. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The link(s) take me to pages with all models on the page(s). 🙄 I've already been searching myself with no luck. I was hoping you could direct me straight to a similar model, with the keypad & hand levers, but a slimmer profile. The info I can find on your pages doesn't give dimensions for "profile thickness". So I’m guessing there isn’t one. I’ll look for products made by other manufacturers.
Hi Tee - The closest model to the 955 is the SmartCode 917. Here's a link to the sell sheet with specifications: kwik.st/3vJz7Fj Hope this helps! ~ Kwikset Social
My set key is in the 12-o’clock position rather than the 6-o’clock position. Is there a way to adjust this? Was this a manufacturing defect? This has happened to me on 2 of the 4 locks I ordered.
Hi and happy to help! First, remove the exterior lever, by opening the door and unlocking it. Insert the 3/32 Allen wrench into the hole on the bottom of the lever, and rotate the Allen wrench to release the lever. Next, look on the chassis shaft for a thin silver clip that holds the cylinder in place, and wedge a flathead screwdriver between the clip and chassis to pop it off. Remove the cylinder, rotate it, and reinstall it, then reinsert the clip and reattach the lever. THE BOLT HERE IS BACKWARDS. THE SMOOTH END SHOULD BE TOWARDS THE INTERIOR DOOR, NOT EXTERIOR LIKE SHOWN.
