@@Samaa-os7hx Georgia’s geography, culture, and history are far more complex than a simple label like ‘Asia’ or ‘Europe.’ First, geographically, the Caucasus region is a crossroads between the two continents, and Georgia has always been part of both worlds. However, historically, politically, and culturally, Georgia aligns more with Europe. From its adoption of Christianity in the 4th century to its aspirations for democracy, rule of law, and human rights-values core to the European Union-Georgia has long considered itself part of the European family. As for being Russia’s ally, that argument is deeply flawed. Georgia has faced repeated aggression from Russia, including the occupation of 20% of its territory. Suggesting Georgia should remain Russia’s ally is dismissive of its sovereignty and the will of its people, the vast majority of whom consistently support European integration. Joining the EU is about pursuing freedom, stability, and opportunities for its citizens, not about geography or outdated imperial alliances. Georgia is not defined by its neighbors or others’ opinions but by its own identity and the choices of its people. And its aspirations to join the EU reflect a clear vision for the future - one where sovereignty, democracy, and progress take precedence over authoritarian influence.
