All Motion Shots were taken on the 50mm 1.8 S lens at 1.8 1/125 1000 ISO

That last test, the viewfinder PIP definitely shows 2.8.... and it kinda looks like a zoom lens.

@@b34k97 it is. I only used the 50 1.8 in the movement first two test. I like to use the 24-70 2.8 S lens when doing test like that because it gives it the best chance in these test

Appreciate the test bro. This is exactly what I wanted to see. I know my Z8 has struggled in these conditions in the past, so glad that Nikon has made some improvements in this department.

    Thanks for this video.
One particular test I’d like to see when it comes to Auto Eye AF: camera on a tripod or handheld, Full Auto Eye AF, for portraits and headshots in the studio. Currently, I can’t use the Z6II for this work, and I’m tired of moving the damn pinpoint around for every single shot.
I’m very curious how will the Z6III behave in this scenario and what is the hit rate(as well as where it focuses: eye lashes vs the eye).

As an ex Nikon shooter and now Sony, I occasionally watch content to see how Nikon AF is coming on. The general jist I get is its good but you need to think about your settings more than you do with Sony. I use a A7R5 and its so easy to use in AF, it feels like a cheat code. Where I was told Nikon led in the DSLR days was auto WB and auto iso. But the A7R5 actually caught up on these features with Nikon in my experience. So we are left with a general colour argument. Well I just don't have a problem with my colour either and remember Im ex Nikon. So there two areas that Nikon need to catch up now for me, first lens selection for instance I use a 20-40 Tamron a lot, its not available for Nikon and secondly ease of use for AF. Hopefully these things will narrow going forward.
Sorry I forgot a third 'issue' video redundancy - they really need to figure that one out very quickly as it really will effect choices in the wedding market, which is probably the biggest pro market out there.

suprised you didnt test the iso and bump it up a lot as the camera main thing for photos was the low light.

Good job on the test. I swear the Z6III Eye AF is snappier than the Z8. It’s not supposed to be but sure feels that way.

    many questions
one , why iso 1000, you had light from street lights and the light was enough for to shoot bts video.
if you connect a trigger to the camera normally ups the exposure hence faster aoutofocus
+2 stop expose on the low light photo and sooo noisy
we all agree, it can focus in the dark but the image quality is where things get into a mess.
nikon z6iii is not a low light camera. sony a7iv and lumix s5iix are kings.
but am happy for nikon z6iii, I can enjoy nikon z8 and z9 technology in a body.
    z6iii plus 180mm-600 lens,,
remember that nikon z6iii is suitable for well light environment and it a video camera. not a photo camera.

It looks like autofocus is getting better, but still has a way to go to have the ability to match a speedlight auto focus beam. Oh well, just have to wait another 4 years to see what they come up with 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

I really don’t understand this «JP» obsession regarding AF.. you can’t do a proper AF test at night, like this, not knowing if it is the AF or motion.. these tests are pointless.
