    The water is very hard in my part of Somerset (320+ ppm), I started with one 25 litre DI Vessel but it didn't last long so now use another DI vessel; the first contains the older resin and that reduces the ppm down to a low level and the second (doesn't have to work so hard) brings it down to 0ppm. Having a black car this means I can let it dry on its own without it leaving any marks, especially on a sunny day. I get my resin from window cleaning suppliers.

      @@denguefever9489 Hard to say really as it will depends on how you use it (wash buckets, pressure washer, rinsing), best bet is to get yourself a TDS meter and regularly check the ppm. I also use a water flow meter which tells me how much I've actually used. Currently using 80-100 litres per wash.

      @@TheDetailingSpace Sorry, I know this video is old now but just a couple of points:
      1. A PW would actually be more efficient on water than a watering can since they require a lot less water with a more gradual flow and wide area of effect to push the unfiltered water off the car. There's no need to try and 'sheet' water off the car when using DI water as you don't need to worry about water that stays on the panels as it contains no solids. The whole idea of sheeting was when using unfiltered water to rinse, you ended up with less of it staying on the car.
      2. The reason DI water is said to damage a PW is because the filtered pure water is extremely hungry for minerals. As a result, when it moves through the PW and comes into contact with brass/nickel parts, it will attempt to leech minerals from those metals. This can result in tarnishing or corrosion of internal fittings which may eventually result in leaks or particles breaking of and damaging the pump etc. It's the same reason why you shouldn't drink this water, it has no mineral value for you and will in fact pull minerals from your body. It may also damage things like your teeth enamel as it seeks calcium etc...
      Still a good video though, keep up the great work!

      @@oliverwilliams5169 The key is to create a wave of water over the car, to ensure full coverage, rather than blasting water at and largely off it. An open hose or the watering can gives more control, hence economy of use and lower costs.

      The first few shots wuth the yellow hose was also filtered water. I just didn't want to carry the "vessel" around the car with me. And if you use a long piece of hose, you waste a lot of filtered water....

    • @Dave-pv1qr
      @Dave-pv1qr 4 года назад

      @Dazzo_UTO How long it last depends on the size of your vessel, how hard the water is and how much you use. I use it through my 18 year old Karcher to rinse after snow foam, and then just out the hose to rinse after contact washing. I fill up my wash buckets with filtered water too (technically de-ionised water). I also use a water flow meter to measure how much I use; normally about 100 litres but sometimes up to 200 litres per wash.

    • @sko1beer

      Disconnect the hose from your pressure washer and connect to this... That's it... I have a small length to attach to the outlet to fill a watering can... Hardly a faff, and not like you're going to disconnect from this back to your pressure washer as this would be towards the end of a detail when you're done with the pressure washer.

    Vyair 11L vessels are only £90, why do you think 0 PPM water will damage your pressure washer?

    • @TheDetailingSpace
      @TheDetailingSpace  4 года назад

      I'm not sure. Not saying it will, just read a few places online saying pure water doesn't do the internals any good.... Not sure how or why? Seems incorrect to me. Afterall, distilled/0ppm water is used in cooling rigs on water cooled PCs etc, and if they have a leak, providing the power is off, they let the board dry with no consequence. I believe this is due to being no mineral deposits to damage the components
