Skilfully done 🌟 The chimney (s) and some walls were clear to see from all around as i drove across the moors some thirty years ago. Very evocative. Thank you very much for this video 👍 I suscribed a few weeks ago.
I watched two episodes of ‘The Tripods’ last night found on the internet with brief scenes filmed at Gwylfa Hiraethog. It was 1984 and the house was fully standing with just roof sections missing. The episodes were #17 & #24.
Wel, diolch yn fawr iawn del🙂 I've wanted to go here for years! Prob cldnt make it now :( 1st came across it on a haunted Wales film. Fantastic shots and pics of how it was. Thankyou for sharing.
Diolch! Originally from Llansannan, and parents still live there. From their house, we can see Plas Pren, and how, over the years, it has fallen derelict. Diolch eto. Wedi mwynhau llwyth.
I am quite sure my father drove me past this place many years ago. I would have been about 7 or 8 years old. Do you know when it was demolished as I recall that most of it was still standing. I guess it was around 1980 when I saw it. Great footage and info have combined to make another great Video. Thanks.
Surprisingly the building has not been ‘demolished’, this is a combination of the strong winds and driving rain, with sadly the help of certain people pulling down the masonry at times.
i use to live in llansannan where denbigh moors actually is i was 15 just turned and wa in a foster home with a elderly couple who lived just out of the village in a rural part down some country lanes they were called ivor and olwen (i think) very welsh couple.from my bedroom window i could see the moors quite clearly and could see this building in the distance i was very intrigued with it and often use to want to get more info about it and what it was no locals would talk about it which obviously made me wonder why ,one person told me eventually that one night after a day of hunting and was relaxing back at the lodge having drinks after their evening meal that something happened and there was a heated argument between the men and one of them has gone berserk with a gun .now i actually work in denbigh town its self which is actually quite far from the actual denbigh moors land .the white building you see by the road in the video is the sportsman's pub and is still there today it does open then close down again quite often from what iv seen .there is liturally next to nothing left of the gwylfa hiraethog now just pile rubble pretty much.
Hello Draig, is there any way we could get in touch about this place? You have more photographs than I've managed to find, which I'd really like to copy, & I have some more history I could fill in for you if you want it. If I flag up my e-mail for you on here, could you copy it then delete it here? Best wishes from Cis!

Awesome !! Fantastic job with the overlaid photographs, just love the way you are bringing the passed back to life. ☺
Great video. Haunted house according to my old man in the 80's. It appeared out of the mist on trips to our Porthmadog holidays.

My Dad did the same in the 60s, telling us kids about the links to Lloyd George.
Brilliant totally brilliant film and music to go perfect with it,
An excellent example on how a structure degrades to become archaeology
