@@Swiftestfox You receive the key once you've reached Friendship level 3 with Jina - that was the second note in the pinned comment, but easy to miss! So yeah, the only way to get there is to slowly level up your friendship. You can talk to Jina every in-game day and gift her something once per real-life day to increase friendship.

Thank you so much. I was on the next-to-last mask and was getting ready to set this one aside to pick up later when this clear and concise video turned it into a 10-minute task. Nicely done. For those who don't have access to some of these areas, don't sweat it. They are part of the main quest line and will open up as you explore Palia and interact with the NPCs. Just set it aside and it will be there when you are ready for it.

Oh, I know what you mean, and they have introduced so many new quests with almost each update. If you start playing the game right now, I can only imagine how overwhelming it must be. I think quests like the "Masks" quest should not even be obtainable until you have reached the friendship level with Jina - it's not very "user friendly".
@@Pixelcave I am discovering that it is imperative to level up friendship with all NPCs in order to complete quests. I was concentrating on Hodari and Najuma and had to level up Ashura for one of their friendship quests.

Unfortunately, we didn't make the connection when we made the video, as we both already had maxed out Friendship with Jina and it wasn't something you really think about (considering anyone can pick up the quest, no matter the Friendship level). It's just bad quest design.

No, you should be able to pick up the masks as this is an individual quest everyone can get. Hm, just to confirm - you talked with Jina after you found the Bird mask and she then asked you to get another mask, and you are now on that step? And you haven't picked up the mask by accident and it went to the new quest inventory tab (added with the last update)? Have you checked if there's anything in the quest items tab? If that's not the case and you simply can't find it, I would recommend contacting support so that they can hopefully assist you.

You can only see 1 mask at a time. You always have to deliver the previous mask to Jina first, then she gives you the next task, you find the next mask, deliver again, etc. Have you delivered the Bird mask and are on step one to find another mask, or what part are you on?

But whether or not I was at the time this finally worked the other thing that changed between me not being able to open the big door, and being able to, was going to the library in town and reading a book on a table at the back right side from entering the door. Then I went straight to the large stone door, without speaking to jina again, and was able to open it.

Shouldn't be a specific time. Did you turn the first Bird Mask in with Jina? After finding the 2. Mask, you need to go to Jina again to deliver before you can pick up the 3. Mask, etc. You can't pick up all at once. I'm not aware if anything has changed and unfortunately I can't check it myself, because I've already done the quest.

If nothing helps, I would suggest to try it again the next real life day and if that doesn't work, it's best to submit a support ticket.
You mean the first Mask you get from tilling your own crop plot, or the next Mask after delivering the first to Jina? The Masks should go automatically into your quest inventory, and you always need to deliver a Mask to Jina, before you can pick up the next one. If it's not in your quest inventory, maybe try to relog, wait a real-life day and see if that helps - if not, I'm afraid you have to submit a support ticket.

Hm, the Library has nothing to do with the Ancient Battery quest, that's for the access to the Water Temple. I'm honestly not sure what suddenly let us enter the library - but I thought it was linked to receiving the Bird Mask that starts the quest with the latest update. So you got the Masks quests but you can't enter the Library when Jina asks you to find the meaning behind the masks?
If it helps, I strangely got past the crash by always looking at the floor in the temple. It's a bit annoying to navigate but the game shouldn't crash so long as you don't look up

I got all the masks, talked to Jina, and I think she broke. She didn't say anything about the ancient library, she didn't give me the key, she won't even acknowledge when I try to give her gifts. She glitched on me and now I can't finish the quest! 😭😭😭
Have you reached Level 3 Friendship with her and completed her Level 3 Friendship quest "Open the Door"? This is how you get the key to the Library. But if she doesn't acknowledge you in general anymore, not even your gifts, you might have other issues - best to contact support.
@@Pixelcave I haven't reached level 3 yet, but yeah she isn't acknowledging my gifts at all. No dialogue indicating that she got it, and whatever I give her stays in my inventory.

Hm, that is strange, as you should have had access to the Water Temple then. Are you sure you are trying to enter the Water Temple when you get that message, or is it the big door behind Jina and Hekla by the water/Mirror Pond Ruins (where you said you always see them outside)? That door leads to the Ancient Library, and the key you require to enter is given to you by Jina if you complete Friendship level 3 with her.
And you handed in the Kitsuu Mask successfully, but now can't find the Humanoid one? Nothing next to the stairs on the plateau overlooking the Water Temple? Did you try to relog a few times? If everything fails, I guess you need to make a support ticket.
You need to complete Jina's Friendship Level 3 to receive the key (see our pinned comment). We weren't aware when we made the video as we already had it, otherwise we would have mentioned it of course.
No worries, I wish we would have realized sooner, to add it to the guide. Sadly, once you have achieved certain things in game, it's very unclear if a quest had a requirement that depends on it. Really glad to hear you are not too far off!

Shouldn't be a specific time. Did you turn the first Bird Mask in with Jina? After finding the 2. Mask, you need to go to Jina again to deliver before you can pick up the 3. Mask, etc. You can't pick up all at once. I'm not aware if anything has changed and unfortunately I can't check it myself, because I've already done the quest.
@@Pixelcave I pick up one by one when Jina asking me to find one mask. And when release i never find the mask. when i just come to her and talk then im going to spot its already there. (2hour after asking this question). and how i can go inside the temple, i need to key from jina?

Hm, that's weird. And you have turned in the previous Mask to Jina before you try finding the next? Each Mask needs to be turned in, before collecting the next one. What about a relog? If nothing helps, I would suggest to try it again the next real life day and if that doesn't work, it's best to submit a support ticket.

You mean the first Mask you get from tilling your own crop plot, or the next Mask after delivering the first to Jina? The Masks should go automatically into your quest inventory, and you always need to deliver a Mask to Jina, before you can pick up the next one. If it's not in your quest inventory, maybe try to relog, wait a real-life day and see if that helps - if not, I'm afraid you have to submit a support ticket.
Hi, but i don't have access to the Ancient Library, and i don't even have a quest for it, i have allready done the battery quest and it is still not open
Hm, the Library has nothing to do with the Ancient Battery quest, that's for the access to the Water Temple. I'm honestly not sure what suddenly let us enter the library - but I thought it was linked to receiving the Bird Mask that starts the quest with the latest update. So you got the Masks quests but you can't enter the Library when Jina asks you to find the meaning behind the masks?

I can't get the last one, my game crash every time I enter the temple 😢
If it helps, I strangely got past the crash by always looking at the floor in the temple. It's a bit annoying to navigate but the game shouldn't crash so long as you don't look up
It's a known issue since the last big patch - will hopefully get addressed with a hotfix on Monday!

I got all the masks, talked to Jina, and I think she broke. She didn't say anything about the ancient library, she didn't give me the key, she won't even acknowledge when I try to give her gifts. She glitched on me and now I can't finish the quest! 😭😭😭
Have you reached Level 3 Friendship with her and completed her Level 3 Friendship quest "Open the Door"? This is how you get the key to the Library. But if she doesn't acknowledge you in general anymore, not even your gifts, you might have other issues - best to contact support.
@@Pixelcave I haven't reached level 3 yet, but yeah she isn't acknowledging my gifts at all. No dialogue indicating that she got it, and whatever I give her stays in my inventory.

You need to complete the main quest called Mysterious Object, followed by the Ancient Battery, first to get access. It seems the developers allow you to get this new side quest early, instead of making you complete the main quest for access first. @@Pixelcave Forgive me but maybe my game is bugged then as I have done both the Water and Fire temple puzzles, everytime I see Jina and that Robot by the water temple they are outside.
Hm, that is strange, as you should have had access to the Water Temple then. Are you sure you are trying to enter the Water Temple when you get that message, or is it the big door behind Jina and Hekla by the water/Mirror Pond Ruins (where you said you always see them outside)? That door leads to the Ancient Library, and the key you require to enter is given to you by Jina if you complete Friendship level 3 with her.

The humanoid mask isn't in the water temple for me 😭
And you handed in the Kitsuu Mask successfully, but now can't find the Humanoid one? Nothing next to the stairs on the plateau overlooking the Water Temple? Did you try to relog a few times? If everything fails, I guess you need to make a support ticket.

No worries, I wish we would have realized sooner, to add it to the guide. Sadly, once you have achieved certain things in game, it's very unclear if a quest had a requirement that depends on it. Really glad to hear you are not too far off!

I guess you're playing on Switch? Sadly the graphics on Switch are a bit downscaled for performance reasons.

You mean the door behind Jina at Mirror Pond Ruins? That's not the Water temple, that's the Ancient Library and you need to reach Friendship Level 3 with Jina in order to get a key.

That's odd. So when you go back and talk to Jina, she asks you to bring her another Mask, but the next location doesn't show up?
