Hey Hampton, I just got blessed with coming across a clean 88 here in California for a very reasonable price. Rust free and straight body. I grew up in one of these my Grandpa has. I am a travel ICU nurse so when this COVID-19 insanity is over, my overtime pay is going towards this project. Stay safe Doc, and maybe I'll even get to reach out to some of the companies you used after I get her back home to Arkansas.

Hey Doc: Just wanted to say, " I followed all of your 4-Part RUclips Restoration Videos" from start to finish. Congratulations on both your JEEP as well the miracle and single greatest blessing of all these videos,...the birth your healthy son to you & your wife. Given all the miracles and blessings you've probably witnessed and been a part of as a Doctor & Surgeon, it's important to keep everything in perspective. You did a first class restoration job on your JEEP and she looks absolutely GORGEOUS‼️ I had a 1988 JEEP Grand Wagoneer, and at 57-years old, I still miss that JEEP more than just about any other of past vehicles...except my 1970 Oldsmobile 442-W30 Hurst Edition High Performance Car. The JEEP G.W. is just a MANLY SUV in our politically correct society. Yours turned exceptionally great and I'd be curious as to how the insulating additions and steps you took over & above "Stock" performed? Is there a noticeable difference in sound or lack of sound when driving? Lastly, what kind of surgeon are you? Your specialty? I suffered 4-near death accidents, but in the first I broke my neck in 3-places, a C6, C7, T1 Anterior Burst Fracture in February 1978. I was completely paralyzed from the neck down w/no motor or sensory nerve function. FOOTBALL & BASKETBALL CAREERS??? Over with. I had a 12-hour surgery and 3 bone grafts from right iliac crest to rebuild 3-levels of my spine from T1-C6 and then a full body cast/halo. All my surgeons & specialists said I had absolutely no chance of regaining any function given all the visible damage & numerous splinters removed from what they referred to as a torn and mangled up and cut spinal cord over 3+ inches. They said if I survived the the next month or two then I'd have some serious adaptions to make in what was my previous life..( SPORTS, HUNTING, FISHING, BACKPACKING, and rinse & repeat the previous 4 😃), as was non-stop active all my life until then. After surviving 2-years and in their words ( a recovery unlike anything they'd ever seen or heard or read about in all their years of practice). I went on to hunt, fish, and be as physically active as my physical condition would allow...and then some‼️ Over the next 2 years and 3500+ hours of therapy, I got back some function and spent 6 months in the hospital. I got bladder control after 7-months, and could just stand up at 9-months. Long story short, at 1 and a half years 1 could just stand and walk short distances with with a awkward gait & severe limp on both sides, hip hike, and drop foot. Fortunate that I got 95% arm and hand function back too. Sorry so long. There's more I'd share but RUclips isn't the place. Much more I'd like to know about JEEP and how's it's all gone to date⁉️ How did one how is that fuel injection upgrade performing compared to stock carburetor? Thanks very much for your time now & producing the 4-part restoration series. It is a wealth of knowledge‼️ In closing, continued best wishes and good fortune in the future to you, your wife and new baby as well as your other children & family. In addition, continued success with all your extended business ventures and TV shows your working on‼️ Time is probably your most valuable commodity at this point in your life⁉️‼️⁉️
    Respectively,
    William Sturman ~

I inherited my dad’s 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. A year before he passed away from brain cancer, he spent over $15k restoring his Jeep. In the year and 10 months the evil wicked step monster distorted some of the interior, carpet mess up, armrest broken off. Probate court was a nightmare and if the state of TX has just honor my dad’s wishes and gave me his Wagoneer as he Will said, it would be in mint condition. I finally got to pick it up yesterday and boy was I pissed. The evil wicked step monster had better be grateful that I’m a kind hearted woman, and not trail trash because I would be sitting in jail right now. Now to hunt down all the distorted parts I need. Great video by the way.

I'm with everyone else in this comment section... Welcome back! We have definitely missed your videos. Man, I'd watch anything you'd make. Your videos are inspiring and push everything, creatively, to the next level. I'm glad you had a chance to recharge. It's gotta be tough to put out videos of this caliber. All the best!

Well done on not skipping any important steps.. things like DynaMat-ing the interior are things that most wouldn't take the time doing but the end result offers such an improvement when it comes to road noise etc. The only thing that I would have done differently was to have those cloth seat inserts dyed black to make the seats a 2 tone color scheme to somewhat match the outside. Oh, and a set of wide 22" chrome rims on low profile tires for the summer. People would be getting whiplash with how hard it'd turn heads. Another thing about rebuilding it is not only do you have a piece of your past to re-live some good times in but the total value of a clean Wagoneer these days is out of this world. I bet that it'd sell at auction for between $35k-$40k. And to think that a decade ago we had one which we used as a yard truck to plow our 100 yard driveway when the snow flew here in the mountains of Vermont. It'd take about a half hour to plow after a good 2 foot snowfall and during that half hour it'd use at least $10 of gas... We used to say that it got $20 per hour to run it. The total distance driven was about a half mile so we were looking at getting about 8 gallons per mile when it came to plowing. haha. They surely aren't eco friendly when it comes to gas mileage.

very nice! I am restoring an 87 and a 91 wagoneer as a his and hers for my wife and I. she has always wanted one and when we got married I promised her that one day I would get her one, it took 21 years but not only got one for her but also found one for myself because I enjoyed hers so much. I am doing a full driveline upgrade on one which is a complete new frame, axles, tranny & transfer case and yes, that will be a hemi under the hood of that wagoneer. it will be awesome to finally have more than 170hp!
but congrats on yours again! you did a beautiful job!
ps, I have ordered from team grand wagoneer before and I have had really good luck from them and when they knew I was in dire need of some parts they overnighted the parts to me and I had them the next day so hopefully they get the bugs worked out cause I've had decent service from them in the past, good luck buddy!

Unfortunately subs come with production of a volume of content on a regular basis, not just top quality content alone. There has to be regularity to keep and draw in new subs. I'm DEFINITELY NOT knocking any aspect of this channel. I LOVE it! Just explaining how subs are garnered.

The GW looks amazing! Rumor has it that the Grand Wagoneer will return to Jeep's lineup in the next few years; you oughta share your story, and some pics of the Jeep, with the Chrysler folks. If the Grand Wagoneer nameplate is really coming back, I think that pics of your carefully restored example are sales brochure worthy!

Purchased a 1982 Wagoneer from the owner 15 years ago. Rain leaks ruined the interior door panels and locks. It's unbelievably difficult to find any local mechanics and body shops in metro Atlanta, that will do any restorations and repairs. I found one shop and they kept the Jeep for four months working, they say, replacing the front door seals. Locks don't work, the driver's rear door will not open and the door hatch window does not work. Mechanics seem reluctant to spend time troubleshooting problems or searching for parts. Any suggestions?

I am one of the few that purchased a new 87 Grandwagoneer and drove it for over 200k miles. Would still have it today but lost it in a flood. Other part sources www.bjsoffroad.com they are much better at customer service and www. ifsja.org forums for everything about full sized jeeps. Still owning, driving, loving Fullsize jeeps today. Thanks again.
