Interestingly I think the only purpose of that tilt switch is to ensure that the ring around the power button always starts with the top left segment.
I wonder how many people thought that there was something loose inside their 360. Mind you, if you've got to the point of shaking your console, you've probably got other issues haha.

The last part of the video hurts me in a deep way. Slowly watching a tomb raider video that took me 2 straight days of editing tick up toward 100 views haha
I used to write music, and I'd pour my heart and soul into the writing, production and everything then share it with my friends on Facebook, somehow thinking everyone would watch my hard work.
There's no meme or gif for the face I used to pull watching it max out at 12 views (10 of them probably me checking the link works haha).
I think that over the years I've FINALLY come to accept: just because I spent ages doing it doesn't mean I should expect people to endure it 😂

Just annoying when so many channels are... awful... and get millions of views because they "sell out", if that makes sense.

It was awful... I really expected to be smelling tobacco when I was cleaning it, didn't smell a thing... so odd.
Yeah I believe it's so that it displays the 4 segments of the circle (around the power button) in the correct orientation. It just so happens that when a drive with perishing belts is vertical, it struggles more with the opening gears. I thought it odd to see something so crude to determine the orientation, but I love the simplicity of it!
reminds me of the mercury tilt switches somewhat.. but more clangy ;)@@ScottMadeAThing

That's what you call smoker's dust, that's likely a light cigerette smoker, smoke destroys electronics. It likely sat for a while unused that's why you didn't have any odor, I had gotten 3 Xbox One model 1540 consoles cheap from a 2 pack a day smoker, the internals were coated in thick brown tar. After a thorough cleaning of each, the Blue Ray disc lasers were no good, 2 of the 3 had overheat issues, 1 had a dying HDD, and 2 had dead power supplies after 3 years and this guy purchased them new.
Thanks Will! I did a moderate look into it (maybe 3 mins Google and a little Reddit) and there was only one decent example and it was a bit more fluffy and lighter, so only had that for comparison, so I'm glad to have your confirmation:)
I once had to go to someone's flat/apartment for my old job and the walls were shiny, sticky and brown with tar, must be a similar thing as what you said.
I'm so glad it had enough time for the odor to go away and glad it didn't 'wake up' when I cleaned it haha!
