How to get ALL of the pillars and counters in Animal Crossing

- I haven't been able to find details on how to get all of the pillars and counters (brick, marble, stone, etc) from the new Happy Home Paradise DLC. After binging the update, I finally figured it out and wanted to share. Enjoy!

This was super helpful. I was wondering how people had nice pillars and counters and I just had the basic one! Good to know it’s not a “find the bottle” recipe
I actually stopped time traveling for the DLC I've been to busy playing the day straight through designing houses. I had my 30 home celebration last night (it was epic) and this morning I was told about Nico needing materials so this would be day four for me. When I turned my game off tonight I was at 40... I can't stop. T_T
I just figured out how to move my vacationers and change roommates and my venues are expanding and I'm so overwhelmed by the sheer amount of content and how deep the decorating system is with personality types, hobbies, style preferences and oh yeah favorite colors.
This definitely helped me out because I completely forgot about the Niko side quest until just now.
I'm not sure how far you have to get.. but at some point, you get an ABD that allows to to convert Poki into Bells.
I just got that today, and I believe it was at 20 homes, and just before designing the hospital.
is it a 1 to 1 conversion?
@@minuner No, it changes from day to day. Sometimes 100 Poki will equal 300 Bells, and other days 100 Poki will equal 175 Bells.
Right after hospital, can turn bells to poki as well as poki to bells. Very helpful

Idk how but I never got the trigger to talk to niko. I talked to him upstairs I think I’m on my 19 home and have not gotten that diy I have all the other achievements but that one
I have done over 150 houses trying to figure this out, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
After completing about 20 homes (excluding the facilities) I was still not able to unlock the pillars and counters! I was so frustrated because I had time travelled back and forth and done all sorts but nothing seemed to work until I spoke to Leif and completed the lesson he was teaching about hybrid plants, I was so relieved to go to work the next day and speak to Niko about the DIY recipe for pillars and counters so give this a go if you are still not able to unlock the pillars and counters!

I didn't even know there were different type of pillars and Counters. I was really upset when all I had was the wood ones since my house doesn't have any wood in it and I really like the pillars. Thanks 😊

Thanks for this video. We didn't know that the yellow box was for Niko to give us new pillars and walls based on the materials we leave. I thought it was just one item that you can customize with kits.

I have all of them unlocked and trust me: if you have a fully upgraded house to decorate on your own island, then they're definitely worth crafting. Without counters in particular, I really couldn't get my kitchen and indoor crafting area looking the way I intended them to look.

thank you! I looked all over and couldn't find anything on how to get the variants. I've done almost 50 homes and have all the facilities unlocked, so I was so confused on how I would get them. I didnt know you have to keep checking nico's material chest over and over.

Yup this is going on my Starter Pack playlist
I'm at 24 houses and still haven't unlocked counters and pillars. Talked to Niko at the workshop table. Next day, nada. Following day, nada. Following day, nada. You get the pattern.
If anyone else is experiencing this issue (which I'm sure is a bug considering Niko chats with most people the day after), I solved it by time traveling a few weeks ahead and then back again. To be honest, I don't consider it cheating if it fixes a bug, so even anti-TT'ers can give that a shot or risk not unlocking these until 2 weeks to a month later. I'm now back on my regular track.

Thank you I’ve (completed) it all (“completed” as the dlc never really finishes) but I completely forgot about the other tasks and was getting super frustrated on where to find them as this one girl who I used to get my pillars from on treasure islands hasn’t been streaming and idk her name and it’s very annoying so thank you for your help

Unfortunately I wasn't getting these extra pullar and counter diys. I was still stuck with the basic wooden ones. Someone said in the comments to time travel 2 weeks into the future so that's what I did, and when I got to the office, it triggered the event that would allow me to drop off materials for Niko. So if anyone is struggling with getting different counters and pillars try time traveling a few weeks ahead.

I just got the wood pillars and tried taking them to Cyrus, thinking he could customize them for me. Glad to know the actual way it's done.

I basically “finished” the DLC main quest (if you can call it that), and then gave him all the materials. It’s easy to miss if you’re focused on doing homes, since they don’t explicitly state it
If anyone has this problem; niko talking abt diys and the next day he DIDN’T give you a small school session in your newly built school, PLEASE HELP. I am on my 28th house and still have not gotten any other recipe than the partition wall… if you have any idea how to fix it please reply! Thxx

@@rDijDi well, the options we have right now are to delete the dlc info and restart, or wait for a patch, or just give up lmao. Ill maybe wait for now but im going to play on my other acc
I’ve played loads more than my OH yet he has been asked to donate materials to Niko and I haven’t - wondered if maybe you have to craft the basic pillar/counters first?? I’m on home 25, think OH is on about 15 - neither of us TT. I’ve crafted the basics this morning so will update tomorrow. Fingers crossed!!

I was avoiding that DIY box thinking it wasn’t important until I saw other RUclipsrs and my friends using concrete pillars when I created over 50 vacation homes, my friends ALL having near 25 built.

LOVE this thank you! Now my BIG question is how are people making small shelfs the ones I see a lot of people making "gyroid room"?? What is the small simple wall shelf??
That's not a DIY - when you place the gyroids on the wall, the game automatically puts the gyroid on that little shelf for you. It would be nice if it was a DIY so we could use it for other things though...!! :)
If anyone's dumb enough to make the same mistake as I did, you have to leave the exact amount Niko asks for, I would leave 14 branches and 6 wood thinking as long as it covers what he asks for it would be fine and the next day Niko would never bring it up and I just kept leaving more and more materials. Finally put exactly 7 branches and 2 wood and finally got the text box that says "I've left all the materials for Niko!" 😮💨 never felt more dumb in my entire life😭😭
