    • @hadleys.4869
      @hadleys.4869 9 месяцев назад +1

      I know everyone has a different method, but I like to do the buttered toast method where you go ahead and spread an even thin layer across the whole IHS before placing the water block on top. Yeah, some may come out the sides, but at least you know it's completely covered. The problem with the pea size dot in the middle is that it may not spread out across the entire IHS surface and just make a small circular pattern. I'll even spread the thermal paste out to the edges with my finger carefully. Even if you get some thermal paste squished outside the IHS, it won't affect the electronics.

    Serious question from an OLD TIMER who has been building custom PCs for about 20 years and LEARNED THE HARDWAY. What happened to ESD protection??? There is NO mention about ESD in this video? I really think the newbies out there need to know about Electrostatic discharge (ESD) and how it can DESTROY your build. I wear Electrostatic discharge (ESD) discharge strap.
    Is this no longer a thing? I mean I watch this video and I cringe with how the components are being handled and not EVEN any effort to ground! Again is ESD a threat anymore?

      @Attila_Gobor 10 месяцев назад +3

      I have been building PCs for 20 years and I have never killed a PC or a PC component with ESD. It's a fair point, but you really have to be unlucky to fry something with ESD. I know that in the professional world, this is a requirement, but I'm pretty confident that 99% of the users building a PC at home use no ESD protection. It is also a good topic for upcoming discussions and I will mention it in an upcoming video.

      Yeah it's definitely worth mentioning to ground yourself. Maybe they didn't want to make it intimidating

    How do you hire a project manager with 0 experience in the computer space? Thats like Elon hiring a 5th grader to be a project manager at SpaceX.

    • @Attila_Gobor

      Because not every project in a company is product oriented. ;)

      "While a product manager sets the vision, goals, and business trajectory of a product, a project manager leads the many projects to make those goals a reality" Project managers manage people and don't "need" specific product knowledge to do their job.

      @@paskowitz But if they know nothing about the job how are they supposed to know how long a job takes and if its on track? Makes no sense

      It's called "on the job experience/training"... I'm pretty sure there's not one job you've started in your life that you knew more about the product than the existing employees.

      I’m here from the future. You probably already saw the CES coverage with some news on the Phase (which I’m also looking forward to). Looks like still SoonTM but sooner than before? I think Atila’s reply to the NewEgg comment/question was really meant for your question lol
