hi Rich ,great information again, the facilities and scenery looked amazing, the positive criticism you rely to the management is a good way to go mate, time and again you hear unhelpful comments or reviews about these places and they don't explain why, a little feedback to the management is helpful for them instead of giving a bad rating on Google, again top man Rich
Spot on Richard thanks mate. I always put myself in there position and that feedback is vital to there business. Supporters have asked me to add things and I act on it, I love that feedback.
Its either Kep or Kampot the Chinese wanted to put an airport in. It think it was planned so it could be used by military also.
That would be a disaster for either areas. The government is shocking. My favourite place in Cambodia is Kampot I would hate to see that happen.
Another great blog. Loved Kampot when i was there; it's a gem of a place, and just hope it doesn't grow and fingers crossed the Chinese don't infest it with their hideous culture. Hope to go back there in the new year and will try out the last hotel you in stayed in.
Thanks Andrew it’s great in this place, there’s a really traditional morning market right outside too. Zero tourists around its lovely and 10min walk into the centre of the city. I don’t think you can book this, you just turn up but they have plenty of rooms.
Sounds like you have landed on your feet in Kampot, Richy . Some great info provided there .Sadly, I don't think you will like the tea with soya bean milk . In my opinion they don't go well together .Best of luck .
It is lovely here, your right it went straight in the bin it just curdles. We live and learn mate.
Happy you like this spot after previous place left you with bitter taste. Keep up the good work 👍
Thanks, it is great here😎🇰🇭
Looks like there’s a lot there to see look forward to seeing what you show next and the weather looks better lol 😊
Thanks June, lots of rain. I’m hoping for a dry day tomorrow so I can crack on😊
@@ParkinsonRawI hope your making some time for you just to chill for a bit 😊
@@user-nu6hi4hw7p I am June thanks, I love researching the content by doing walkabouts, and doing the vlogs too😊
Nice Stuff Richy..
Thanks mate
Nice vlog.Maybe see you at the water festival.
Cheers.
Thanks Noah, ill only be here till Saturday but i'll be covering the boat race markets tomorrow mate.
It's great the locals are so nice. Will high season just double prices everywhere? Still good prices though.
The locals are lovely mate, my accommodation was cheap enough.
I remember seeing that first hotel for sale online a few years back.
Has loads of potential just needs some TLC, maybe a lick of paint.
Guess like most places they did it tough with no money coming in for a couple of years.
I enjoyed staying in Kampot, got a chilled out vibe
It is really relaxed isn't it, i love it. It's very popular that place loads of people i talk to hear have stayed there.
Cracking vlog again mate, no wonder you are so slim, all that walking, i come out the room and im phoning a passapp.😂
Thanks mate, i love a good walk😂
@ParkinsonRaw me too. Meet locals see the proper character of the place and keep fit. Winner.
Definitely Graham, back in the uk I was climbing mountains constantly. This is a cake walk mate. You get a feeling for where you are before you even get to your hotel. You know the crack mate👍🏻
I remember that pool table. Bohemiaz kicked wor arse at pool 🤣🤣🤣
You needed me there Steve haha Lucky charm
I'm sorry but my wifi was in and out . I watched a good section over again but I missed how much that room was . Anyone ? Thanks
I can’t remember now Michael, it was definitely between £10-15 a night
@@ParkinsonRaw Thanks !!
SIgn of the times with that grand hotel closed and up for rent, i cant see bus loads of tourists comming over the horizon either , waiting to see the beach areas of kampot before i judge the place but so far i'm not impressed ,. It seems to be more of a backpackers kind of place, i know this might sound harsh but cambodia looks depressing to me, looks very much like laos and i'm not keen on that country either, sorry but there's no way i could retire there , maybe i'm being blinkered but i would be climbing the walls if i had to stay there just because its cheap, which it isn't really that cheap, those dirt roads dont do it any favours, when i'm in thailand long term i live with thai g/f in her nice big detatched house with grounds in a small village, over the last couple of years they have resurfaced the few kilometres of surounding roads, installed all new concrete power poles, concreted side road next to house, extended and refurbished the big village temple, and there's a few new house builds gone up to,. cambodia is still in the dark ages transport wise ,building and infrastructure wise, coruption must be far worse than thailand and laos, not sure about vietnam as thats still a communist country, thailands still got my vote warts an all, cheers ,.
Everybody's different mate it would be boring if we all wanted the same thing. the beaches are quite far away to be honest. It is still a poor country due to corruption. I wouldn't say it was a backpackers place there's loads of expats here. It really reminds me of Kanchanaburi.
I hope there isn't bus loads of tourists that's what destroyed Thailand for me becoming way too much like farangland
I think its inevitable to be honest Graham the west is getting so expensive now its a no brainer to come to asia. The rural areas will be ok which i much prefer anyway to be honest. all big cities now are becoming westernised in asia@@grahammurray7426
@@ParkinsonRawI've seen prices in thailand going stupid I lived there for 15 years in kanchanaburi when it was cheap. Now because of the Internet its going up and up.your correct about rural areas lots outside of kan that are still great. I've got a small farm in Tanzania now that's my retirement plan. I prefer being out in the sticks.
@@grahammurray7426 It is mate, JJ’s market is still cheap and the morning market in Kanchanaburi. I can’t remember what it’s called but you can get chicken and rice for 10 baht ha. But soon all that will be a thing of the past, Tanzania sounds interesting I wouldn’t mind going there. We’ll have to have a crack on at Xmas when I get back Graham, I’ll treat you to the 10b chicken and rice ha.
Hope French taco isn’t anything like a pink taco
I haven't had one to be honest i've never seen it open. Pink taco sounds awful lol
@@ParkinsonRaw pink taco is slang for a woman’s private part in the US 😂
I translated that sign saying 3000 riel. It said 3000 riel for a piece of bread. Food is not cheap in Cambodia.
3000 reil is about 75 cents us
@@grahammurray7426yes and that's for a piece of bread. I remember getting tired of eating bread if you didn't want to spend $6-8 dollars at a restaurant. Can't wait till he goes to Vietnam I haven't been but heard you eat a proper meal for $1-2 there. Not $5 for a micro pizza 🍕 😂
depends where you go just as in thailand to be honest mate, i've never seen that place open. you can rent a bike for $5 same price, chicken and rice $1, i found a place yesterday with amazing beef burgers best i've had in asia two for $3.
It's not as cheap as it used to be but where is? I've said this many times when the younger generation come through and the old guard die off Thailand will be a vastly different place. It will be at least double the price it is now unless your in Issan or other rural places. i know a market in Kanchanaburi where you can get chicken and rice for 10 baht.
The accommodation is extremely similar priced, don't get me wrong i much prefer Thailand, the infrastructure here is miles behind with the transport system and roads etc. But the prices are not far apart.
The big thing for me here and also i've said this in many vlogs the street food dual pricing is everywhere, there are no prices, that can only mean one thing, the tourists pay more. Also i find it a lot more unhygienic here, so i wont eat it.
Ill be there next week, i'm looking forward to it mate@@smurfhits5688
@@ParkinsonRaw alright I was in Siem reap for a year only thing I noticed was cheap was the beers. Ofc I could det a $1 snack burger but to fill me up I need about 8 of them. In Thailand you get a decent meal for $2 or get 2 dishes for $4 and get stuffed.
Next destination for me I think is Vietnam Ive seen you get a Bahn mi for 80c-$1 or a big portion of food for $2.
But I'm waiting for your honest review before I make a decision 😂 many misleading informations out on RUclips but I trust you we have about the same budget 👊🏼
