This is Perimeter Mall! It's been a part of Atlanta for so long. I'm can't remember the different restaurants they've had over the years. Everything in the mall is still in great shape. It's full of people even on a rainy weekday afternoon. If you have any memories or stories about the mall let me know!
Indeed. For all but a few of the remaining malls the days are numbered. Impossible to compete with price and variety of what’s available online. As far as communities go though I hope we find something soon to replace it. The spaces where people meet, cross paths, or congregate are becoming fewer.
I’m glad this mall is still doing well, but the Gwinnett Place mall before the remodel was still the most beautiful mall Georgia has ever had. It’s a shame what’s happened to it. Perimeter mall is icy and impersonal which probably reflects the wealthy stuck up crowd that lives in the Dunwoody area. It fits them. Gwinnett Place mall before the remodel was warm, personal, inviting, beautiful design that gave off that Disneyworld Main Street at night feel. Unlike the cold rigid contours of perimeter mall, Gwinnett Place mall had smoother contours and lush vegetation before the remodel. A very comforting and comfortable feel unlike perimeter mall which has a wealthy, cold James Bond kind of feel. It suits some people but definitely not for everyone.
I really appreciate hearing this perspective as I've never made it to Gwinnett Place Mall. Thank you so much for sharing it. Sounds like it was really nice. I hear that they're doing some new things with that property at this point. Do you still think it would be worth stopping by to have a look at it?
@@nole8923 your comment made me want to go see the mall again. It was totally closed up but I recorded what I saw there. Thanks for your description and memory of the place. ruclips.net/video/AlkXk5QTQ1g/видео.htmlsi=nqsGwOU4Oz0ABnAF
