I love watching hour long videos of videogames I’m not sure I’ll ever play, and this is one of the most underrated! The voiceover, the editing, and the analysis, it’s all great and I hope you keep making videos ✨
Great video. I was looking for a lengthy background for my cooking session, and this was perfect to get to know a game I probably will never experience myself. The commentary is ideal for conveying your feelings about the game and includes some ideas worth exploring after watching the essay. Great job!
What an incredible video and analysis. Gripped all the way through. The view count to quality ratio is inconceivable… great voice too If uploaded by any other larger RUclipsr, view count would be in the hundreds of thousands if not millions.
Great video! I must say, this video makes me want to play... and awesome job tying in Ayn Rand! (Insert mind blown emoji.) Even if I didn't want to play (but I do), your narrative is both informative and cheeky awesomeness.
Retrospective / analysis are such a addiction. As a game dev I gotta know ALL the insides and outs. 41:10 Did you have to drill his ass? XD Also bioshock is not forgotten. There will always be a shard of what you are in this world. Through action, words or creative. All inspires in one way or another. :D
alex, i was JUST watching a video by razbuten called games i wish i didn't replay; he also states that infinite was a game he loved on release, but now after replaying he sees many of its flaws while inspecting it through his now contemporary lens . haha coincidence
I have formed this opinion of these two games is this, Bioshock One has better villains and Two has better protagonists. Jack is a cypher by design, no shade on Jack but he is tool built for a singular purpose in and out of universe. Johnny Topside is also a tool, but he has a desire. protect Eleanor. It is not much but from his backstory and the way he acts we have a good idea what kind of person he is. Someone who probably would have tried to rescue Elenore even if he was not conditioned to do so. He is more like the Pulp Adventure hero archetype than Jack too, he was a deep sea explorer after all. I could imagine that they could have published Johnny Topside comics in universe. His relationship with Eleanor is compelling as well, it feels like they really felt like family. However Sophia is much less interesting then Ryan. Ryan had an Ideology he believed in, Sophia saw her ideology as a means to an end. It is just a matter of priorities, One needed to set up Rapture and make it compelling, Two could just take Rapture as a given and write a different story where you actually care about what happened to your player character. They are different, not better. If I was making the Bioshock movie I would split the difference, Make Ryan the Villain and Johnny the (or at least a) main character. Place it before the civil war and tell that story, or maybe have Jack and Johnny team up and have flashbacks to who he was before sprinkled through the movie.
I love the bioshock games. Bioshock 2 was my favorite, Infinite felt really repetitive in a way, thats the only words that i can describe it as. Sadly ive never got a chance to complete Bioshock 1 so this is my video to catch me up.
Hey Hunter, Thanks for watching! I have yet to play Atomic Hearts but I have heard mixed things about it. Torn between getting that or the System shock remake.
We will all remember

Heh you know when I was recording and editing I didn't even think anything of it but that's a funny coincidence!

They awesome games for sure! Hope you get some enjoyment out of the video!
alex in your grim fandango video, the music when you're initially are explaining the plot is TOO DAMN LOUD
Ha it sure is! I keep that video up for solidarity but I defiantly agree with you there.
Ill remember you.
You do me a great honor, thank you.
:”)
🥰
This makes me wish Atomic Heart was better.

Atomic Heart is great, my G.
