Such an amazing project. Now you gotta get a Super NinShemDo vinyl sticker printed. Also does anyone else just love Shem's voice? It's so soothing. Looking forward to RetroBreeze ASMR channel someday :D
This is so good. And you've given me a fun idea for a personal project. I've been wanting to set up a small emulation box for the TV in our lounge for the kids. This with some nice 8bitdo controllers will be so nice.
Very impressed thanks for the link dude. I really like the look of it. Its very clean mine will be very messy no doubt In a cardboard box. Subbed will be excited to see what you do next
Great project! Thank you for sharing. I'm looking to do this type of project myself with the OPi5. Are you willing to share your 3D printed parts at least for the base? I'll understand if you don't. Again thank you. This was a fun watch.
Absolutely! The .STEP files are now available: www.printables.com/model/943993-rb-aio-5-game-console-orange-pi-5-plus Bear in mind it's not perfect. Let me know what you make!
For sure there are other options, but I chose the Plus for the larger footprint which worked well for the project, and for the IO layout that seemed easier to work with!
It's an impressive arm solution. But AMD has been offering ryzen sbc's for awhile that I'm pretty sure beat the snot out of this both graphically and processing wise. They aren't as efficient but where this isn't a portable that basically doesn't matter.
The RB-2H handheld is actually still in development and I've almost finished the final design. It was very challenging and I stopped for about a year, but it is definitely still coming!
Aha, yes I know. You might be able to tell by my voice in this one that I have been under the weather. I had a chest infection for a few weeks and lost my voice for three whole days 😅
Good question! Most Batocera drives you'll buy are set up to work on "x86_64 architecture" computers- basically any normal PC or Laptop. However the Orange Pi, raspberry pi and most other SBCs use ARM architecture. The two architectures are not cross-compatible, so in short, a Batocera drive like that won't be able to boot on the Orange Pi 5. However, you could install the compatible version of Batocera to the Pi using an SSD, eMMC or SD card, then use the Batocera drive just to access the games, which should work just fine!
Hi there! I used the official Android image from this page: www.orangepi.org/html/hardWare/computerAndMicrocontrollers/service-and-support/Orange-Pi-5-plus.html If you're booting from the SD card, the 1.0.2 version won't work, so use the backup folder and download 1.0.1 instead.

This is so ridiculously cool! I appreciate the detail that you went into when discussing the problems you encountered.
Thank you for watching Dweeb! You can even connect a keyboard and play some DOS if you want!

That is a whole other level of cool! Amazing video Shem, you're a real one.
Cheers Klef!

That sounds great! Show it to me when it's done 😁
Now I really want to get one of these to set up as a home console for my TV
Just buy a mini pc with an n100 cpu. It's better for the same price.
This is awesome. I love these awesome DIY projects and watching it all come together was so cool. Amazing job 👍
Thank you very much for watching ☺️

You should check out the GMKtech N97 mini pc. A 1” x 1” tiny PC with full Windows 11 that can play up to lightweight Switch emulation.
Forgot to mention it’s $150 all in.
I have the older NucBox 5 (same shell) and I absolutely love it! Got it for 80 big ones. Would love to try the new one some time!

@@RetroBreezeYT Thank you
Man, it would be cool if it was some kind of clamshield handheld instead,
A handheld is a whole different ball game when it comes to battery management and controls!
I'd use a Opi5 or opi5 pro, not plus, for this use case, but hey, you did good job, so I'm happy with that
For sure there are other options, but I chose the Plus for the larger footprint which worked well for the project, and for the IO layout that seemed easier to work with!
@@RetroBreezeYT well, maybe someday I'll post my own version so that we can compare. Cheers, mate
Make a handheld using orangepi5
I'd love to, especially with an iPad mini (4:3) display!

Handheld video arent coming as you promised earlier?

Dang Bro! Where have you been!? You done disappeared from the Digiverse!

@@RetroBreezeYT Dang man, I hope your doing okay.
I’m new to these orange pi computers. Can you plug in an external batocera hard drive to play your emulated games?

Hello my friend, what version of Android did you use, can you send the link or explain where you downloaded it??

could have used pro or max, both are more powerful overall and smaller (wifi and bluetooth built in + emmc and nvme boot)
HOLY SHIT FORTNITE
Hi bro, can this run ps2 games?
