  • In this concert, two most influential national styles of the baroque era meet on one stage: Italian passion and virtuosity are confronted by German earnestness and sophistication.
Verita opens their concert with the famous Vivaldi Trio Sonata in G minor executed by Guglielmo Dandolo Marchesi and Eugenia Ottaviano from the Alinde Quartett and Bartolomeo Dandolo Marchesi and Alexander von Heißen from VERITÀ, bringing the two vibrant ensembles together for this performance. The program continues with a hitherto unknown yet gorgeous trio sonata by Bach’s cousin, Johann Ernst, for flute, violin, and basso continuo. The ensemble concludes with the legendary Brandenburg Concerto No. 5, performed by three internationally recognized soloists: Alexander von Heißen on harpsichord, Guglielmo Dandolo Marchesi on baroque violin, and Taya König-Tarasevich on baroque flute.

This series is such a treasure! It was magical to gather in the medieval style chapel of St. Barts, and now that Covid temporarily blocks our path, these superb recorded performances provide solace....

Fantastic! Thank you Verità, especially for bringing Johann Ernst Bach to our attention. And thank you Midtown Concerts for bringing them to us! I'll be keeping my eye out for more from Verità.
I hope the descrption will include the program and the performers' names? That way people searching for these pieces or performers on RUclips can find them.
    Thanks again!

I've played the JE Bach last year in concert - it's beautiful - there is only one other trio of him - but this one is the better one ;)
