I don't but I wish I did. It's been on my list to do. At this point, I should outsource it! I only want to because I sell products on my site (courses, books). Otherwise, it might not be worth it unless you think it'll get enough eyeballs to bring on affiliate links
Great question - I haven't seen any real differences on when to post. I've had success on weekdays and weekends. Typically they take days to gain traction so I wouldn't overthink that part. GIFs are great when used in the right moments. Don't overdo it - they can be a distraction :)
You said that your articles don't need to be original (it can be published from your own blog). If that is the case, do publications have a bias whether you are submitting them an original over a non-original one? Or they don't care so you can just submit to them your non-orig articles?
Thank you so much for this video - very helpful as someone researching how to do this! I am curious where your stats are now? Have you continued to grow and gain revenue and perhaps more cashflow now you've been on Medium longer? Or is it still just kind of double digits each month? (Apologies if you've addressed this in other videos - I only just stumbled across this video, but I subscribed and will check out your other videos to see if you are still active on Medium! Thank you!)
I did make one more update on Medium sharing how I made over $2K on one article. I'm only writing one weekly so I'm back down to the $100-200 range monthly. I was hitting $400-500 at one point. But it's really hit or miss. And by that I mean you need an article to go viral (and viral within Medium to paying subscribers, not free views via Google/social). Check out that video and good luck!!
It's different for all of them unfortunately. If you go to the publication page, they usually have a link on top (or bottom) explaining how to submit stories. For some, you can submit through a form. For others, you need to get accepted into the pub. I wish it was more simple. Some are very tough to get into and you may hear nothing for weeks, while your story sits unpublished. Might be best to start your own pub like I did (Money Resolution). Best of luck!!
Hey there! First off, great video! I loved how transparent and informative it was. Quick question tho: I live in a country that is currently not supported by Stripe. Is there any other platform similar to Medium where I can make a living from writing/blogging/content creation?
Correct. This is what I do now. Well, technically I started my own publication so I submit it to myself. I think bigger ones can help you with exposure but it was more stress to get into than it was probably worth it.
Hi, I just started publishing on Medium about a week ago..how do people find your articles?? How do you get paid?? Do you have to be a member to make money??
Yes you can - if it's all your original work you can also post it there. You can even put at the top or bottom "Originally posted on (your blog URL)" and you might end up with a little traffic back to your blog.
My understanding is that to get into the Partner Program, I need 100 followers. I haven't quite figured out how to get followers. The few articles I have posted to Medium got no responses, as far as I know. My question is How do I Get Started?
I get it. Keep at it though. You learn a ton by doing. Try to focus on fun and learning and don't focus on the money. Also, sometimes an old article pops months away out of nowhere! You never know!
Sensodyne toothpaste worked really well for me when I was having bad teeth problems. You're a good dude man, you already have the answers just like you said...life is what you are going to make it brother. Take care of yourself ◑
I am not sure you will see this but I did post similar questions to others. Is there a way to evaluate my writing before publishing, how to know if my article is good? Second question no body talks about citing or referencing these articles, isn't that required?
It's gotten SO much better because I doubled down on it. I post around 10-15 articles a month still and stayed very consistent. Some months are slow ($100-$200) but I had my first $2K month in September - mainly with 1 viral article. You really need a viral article to make good money I'm finding. It's the second time this has happened. Otherwise, it's just a couple hundred tops. Let me know if you'd like to see a follow-up video!
great video by the way. I signed up to Medium in August and they must have changed the rules after your video, I need 100 followers to apply for the Partner Program. who would think!

Ok, you seem cool and proficient as one who is successful turning their passion for writing into a living. I do see that its a good way to learn the craft by studying the most successful people as well as those just ahead of me in achieving results. Thanks for this video, I subscribed.
Hey, I have a question for you. I am a very curious individual and have a wide range of interests and knowledge in a variety of different fields and subjects. I am pursuing a Bachelors in Economics and that will be the foundation of all of my writings but at the sametime spreading out with a variety of different fields. I say all thato to ask is ok to not really have a specific niche but write on different subjects as long as the content has substance? Im a polymath and I guess you can say my niche is being a generalist. Is it also a good idea to publish my first story as a descriptive bio explaining who I am explaining what and why I do what I do to have a more personal and authentic relationship with my readers and audience?
First, you need to get added as a writer. Many of them require a quick form or comment that you'd like to be added. If you go to their pub - look for a "write for us" link on top. Once added, when done writing, clicks the dots and click add to publication. Then submit to pub. Some pubs make you submit articles via specific forms instead for each article using article draft links and it can get frustrating because you might not hear back. Or a week goes by and you get rejected and start applying again. It can be worth it though if it's a big one. Over time, you'll establish relationships with pubs. By now, I have 4 or 5 that accept everything I send them. Best of luck.
I just joined medium and it says you need at least 100 followers to be partnered...im guessing you gotta do some writing for a while first to get those followers :-)
Can you put books on medium? Right now I am waiting to here from support to re-activate my account. I tried to sign up for a new account but the system would not let my cell phone no. go through.
It depends on the content. If it's longer-form, consider self-publishing a book like I have. OR consider a RUclips channel if you have video skills. Or consider your own blog. But yes, I think Medium is a great place for your content! Plus, you can technically post that content elsewhere so it doesn't have to be exclusive.
@@TheMoneyResolution If you're doing it purely to make money, you won't be successful I don't think. You have to love writing to stick with it long enough to gain traction. Most people will give up after they don't see thousands coming in every week within a month...
Imagine your life is just a circular grind, selling your brand on all these platforms. That's no kind of life. There is a reason you don't see Warren Buffett creating content on RUclips - he ACTUALLY knows how to invest money.

But yes, I think Medium is a great place for your content! Plus, you can technically post that content elsewhere so it doesn't have to be exclusive.
Ive got a question. Can i make money on medium and under 18? Can i just fill in my moms informations?
Hopefully the answer to your q is here: policy.medium.com/medium-partner-program-terms-fcfe9cf777b8
can I PUT MY PDF on it ?can I MAKE WRITING PRTOFOLIO ON IT ? can I WRITE ABOUT MEDICAL WRITING?
You cannot upload a PDF. However, you can create a new story and maybe copy/paste your writing!
$1.33/day income? Sounds like a corporate job to me!
Lol yes, it’s slow to start for sure. Definitely more of a hobby and should be seen that way I think.
@@TheMoneyResolution If you're doing it purely to make money, you won't be successful I don't think. You have to love writing to stick with it long enough to gain traction. Most people will give up after they don't see thousands coming in every week within a month...
Love your humor.
How did my name appear here and can I change it?
How did you get 100 followers in order to apply for the partner program?
It sounds like this requirement was added after I joined!
Imagine your life is just a circular grind, selling your brand on all these platforms. That's no kind of life. There is a reason you don't see Warren Buffett creating content on RUclips - he ACTUALLY knows how to invest money.
Great video. Can you do an update? I see you have 3K followers on Medium, and I'd be curious about how the earning has increased. Thanks!
thanks so much i want you to see my articles
Is anyone from Canada?
Have you earned anything on Medium? If so, did your payment come with a 30% deduction?
In January, I earned around $1.40 USD and received $1.33 CAD.
Did I make a mistake in tax form?
First 30 days does this include the time trying get 100 followers so I can get paid????
I wrote two last summer and nada lol
Don't give up! It took me a few months to really settle in and make it worth it income-wise but it was fun and I learned a lot.
Tip #1 is actually an established marketing strategy: Repurpose your content.
Always do this 🙌
Advice: make the future videos shorter
Brevity isn’t my strength but I’m working on it 😂. I always aim for 10 lol. Thanks for watching though!
