Spring under actually handles Moab utah better....no hopping on the inclines. My ZUK build experience started way back in 1990.....spring under and shackle in the front is a winner.
You know what would really be kick-ass?........ A wheel base extension from 80 inches to about 104 inches. That would be a winner! That would mean cutting the body and adding in 24 inches of sheetmetal
I have this kit set up spring under. Could you go over moving the axle back one inch? There are two holes on the leaf spring mount and 3 holes on the u-bolt plates. Could you talk about each and how they make a difference?
Sweet video as always. Very informative! Have you ever done any body panel work? My samurai has some pretty decent rust and I'm just about to dive right into it. The issue is finding 18-20 gauge sheet steel around me. It's going to be a very crude/military/offroady style build so I'm not looking to restore it..
I'm having a lot of trouble trying to get my Samurai to run right. My carb died, and I put a Weber carb on. I never could get the Weber to work. Would you suggest a CV carb, a Toyota 3K carb or propane. I've been thinking of trying the gotpropane kit. What has worked for you best in the past??? Just trying to pick your brain. Thanks!
I drive my Samurai mostly offroad. The Weber stalls at just about any angle. It hesitates if you hit bumps too fast. And, it likes to flood if I stomp on the gas. The Weber really takes the fun out of the Samuari! The Weber definitely takes away from the awesome capabilities of the Samuari!
Hola buenas tengo una pequeña duda con las piesas que se les pone a las hojas de resorte tengo unas pero es diferente la forma pero si son de la misma Z y queria saber si me puede ayudar porque se los quiero poner a mi carrito
You mention adding a drive shaft spacer for the front, but is it needed in the rear as well? Also, I’m assuming you used stock height yj springs for this rig.
Drives better an also keeps the weight lower. I don’t need Toyota axles for 32s. I do plan to do toyota axles on my other tin top. My plan was just to keep this one a very mild wheeler an street rig.
Hey I have a daily driver Samurai. I'm really interested in this upgrade. The stock setup has very little body roll in turns (I love this). How does this upgrade do in turns, body roll wise?
I personally haven’t put many miles on this kit on the road. I mean it’s not gonna handle like a nascar. It will prolly give some Body roll depending what springs you run an how many leafs are in that pack.
Driveshaft spacers you mean? Then yes. The stock steering will work for the time being on spua setups on stock yj springs. If you go spoa you will need high steer. If you do 2.5” lift springs spua I’d still do high steer. Stock steering will only take so much abuse before it bends or breaks.
this is not the same suspension lift! it is necessary to initially make a body lift, here the propeller shaft does not work correctly ... need to lower the transfer case

Think you have yourself a new customer will be ordering everything I can get my hands on awesome fab 🙏🏼
Looks like a well thought out kit. grade 8 hardware! :)
Wow this video deserves more views. Thank you for the very informative video!
Awesome. I need to buy a kit!
Doing spring over axle but still the most in-depth lift video out there.
Only difference is installing spoa pads an high steer
Awesome video I just got my first samurai it’s a tin top Just like this one im looking into ordering the compete yj spring swap and spoa kit from you
I put a YJ spring over with Toyota axles with 33 inch tires and used the samurai rear drive shaft but have vibration what do you think I need
You need to first check your U Joints install. Hard to mess up on a Sammy, but that’s the quickest check.
how's pinion angle
Very nice and detailed video keep up the good work hats off to you for the effort making such a helpful video
Bro... I appreciate alot your spring hanger bracket and shackles 👌👍
your video very intesting.. will this lift kit can be used on jimny 1990 JA11 right hand drive? thank you..

That bumper is nice!Need some of that!
With the Missing Link on the front, is there any or how much body roll?
When it’s spua very little body roll.
Great job man
Thanks
please tell me that you make this kit for samurai long wheel base as well!
do you have to remount the rear shocks?
Yes. Just need lower shock mounts I kept
Mine in stock upper location
Hello Dr z. Can I get the measurements for the yj conversion brackets
Front tire are no more centered with the fender well the rear mount should be located some inch back
Good for basics ..... But we all know there is way more to than just leafs....🙂.

I used 18g when I was doing some body work on one. I also used .023 welding wire too. It helps a lot when doing sheet metal work.
@@DrZFabrication Where did you get the 18g from? Trying to ship it is ridiculously expensive
I have a local steel company I buy from. I know Home Depot has some small pieces of steel or even Lowe’s.
Would have been nice to see how the front shackle bump stops mount up. Doesn’t show in the video. I bought the kit and can’t quite figure it out.
they slide in the front frame rails.
@@DrZFabrication thanks. So does the front bumper need to come off as well? Which one is L and R? Would be nice if they were marked.

How much wheelbase do you gain going with yj springs???
2” front an rear can be moved rearward a 1”. Hard to go further with stock steering box location an gas tank.
Thanks for taking time to answer my question! Love your channel! You are awesome!

Out of all them I would pick propane. If it was a daily driver. I would go fuel injection which you would have to do a motor swap.
I will be ordering soon
Hello friend, what car (brand, model and year) are those spring leaves that you put in the suzuki samurai? Thanks for your videos
Hola buenas tengo una pequeña duda con las piesas que se les pone a las hojas de resorte tengo unas pero es diferente la forma pero si son de la misma Z y queria saber si me puede ayudar porque se los quiero poner a mi carrito
Does this kit on sping over and sping under? I have one with sping over and my dad drives one spring under. Best little wheelers ever.
Graet video. How bad did it hurt flex?
Great video!
The bracket that I got for the back has two holes to receive the leaf spring what it the purpose of it
there so you can move the axle rearward if you want.
Do u do the installation? If I buy this product? Like If I take u my samurai
we can
You mention adding a drive shaft spacer for the front, but is it needed in the rear as well? Also, I’m assuming you used stock height yj springs for this rig.
stock springs. rear isn't needed unless moving the axle rearward.
Do you still make the YJ kit? if so what's the price? thanks
It’s on my website drzfab.com
Why did u put the leafs on the bottom of the axels ? And why now yota axels?
Drives better an also keeps the weight lower. I don’t need Toyota axles for 32s. I do plan to do toyota axles on my other tin top. My plan was just to keep this one a very mild wheeler an street rig.
How much for the kit + the U bolts? Do you have a link to order?

Does this lift affect anything with the steering? ( such as shaft length)
as far as steering shaft no. if you go with taller springs it will mess with the steering little since its putting the drag link more on a angle.
what up, fixin to buy a kit and got a question for ya-when doing spoa would i need to cut more out of the new perch on the larger side of the axle
Check out my spoa perches. They slide right on. Drzfab.com
Hi,
One question, where do the shocks go after this?
The front shock mounts
Watch my shock tower video. Will give you a idea where to place thenlower mounts
Does this yj conversion but spua any mods need to do to the frame and steering?
For spua you don’t need steering unless you go higher then stock yj springs.
The stock is 2.5 lift for suzuki samurai ?
And do you ship to philippines
I have a longer wheel base samurai and thinking to swap new suspension ome or yj conversion
It’s prolly pretty expensive to ship over seas. Everytime I Try it’s easy $150 to ship.
How much did it cost? The lift kit
It’s on my website drzfab.com
Do you need to add shaft extensions and something for the steering?
