My new year's resolution has been to get in the habit of practicing the violin every day for at least 30 minutes. Thank you for not only making that possible, but also making it easy and fun! Proud to say I was able to keep up at the higher tempo. :)!
Hello! I have always wanted to learn to play the violin and finally decided to go for it a couple weeks ago. After receiving my violin last week, I’m up to lesson 8 and am absolutely LOVING these lessons! They aren’t too hard, but definitely challenging for someone who has never touched sheet music or a stringed instrument before. I’m finally getting calluses on my finger tips and my tone is slowly improving. Thank you so much for these lessons! I plan to continue practicing daily and these lessons are an integral part of that ☺️
Hi Henriette, I started this course 2 days ago and just finished Lesson 8. I’m having such fun. I’m 31 years old and prior to two days ago I’d never touched a violin in my life. The twinkle twinkle variation in this lesson was so fun and definitely my favorite lesson so far. I admit I was a little discouraged after Lightly Row yesterday but today got me back in good spirits. I can’t believe after 2 days with this instrument I’m already playing a song! Excited to keep going and so happy to have found your lessons to help me start this exciting new journey. Thank you! -Libby
I start play twinkle twinkle little star.👏👏👏 It's not sound perfect, but I feel So great.🎻 I never thought for a moment I will play something. I Am so Happy. 🎻🎻🎻 Keep up the good work Dear.👍
Hello can you please help me locate the page and line that you are playing I have been trying to look for it but I cannot find it or atleast may you please tell me the title of the piece you are playing😢
I took Suzuki with my grandson years ago. We finished book one, then he transfered to a traditional local teacher. I stopped learing at that point. My question is: is there a set progress time or can I quickly brush up on my past learning at my own speed and then settle into book two?
@@violinclasses Thank you very much for the reply, well I finally found what line you was playing, but then below that line we have lines A B and C, what is the meaning of the 3# symbols before, did I missed a lesson? Did you skip the first two lines of the page? I am very lost in this lesson. Also, in page 25, lines 1 and 5 I can't see what fingers are you playing with? How do I know what fingers to use in the different scales? I see the 2 first plays in different positions but they both have the number zero above, they sound different. Once again thank you very much for your teaching.

Thanks for the lessons. I just have a little trouble. Doing the exercise for up-bow (5:58 min) seems like my pinky (and I think my thumb too) loses the curve.
Hi Crostwarte, thanks for your comment. This is a common thing to happen and will get better once you build more strength in your muscles. That takes time, so keep on going and it will come. Join my live class tomorrow if you can and I will explain more. Take care 🎻
I want to thank you for taking the time to make these videos. I was taking private lessons prior to the pandemic and felt as though the instructor I had wasn't teaching me what the book recommended. She taught me the wrong way to hold a bow and never thought me the fourth finger. We progressed up to Perpetual Motion and then lessons came to a screeching halt. I tried private online lessons and those didn't work for me either; however, your videos are working great for me and even though I am back at the beginning of book 1, I feel I have learned more in your first 8 videos than I did with private instructors.
Hi Travis, thanks for your comment and sorry to hear of the bumpy road you’ve had so far. Hope I can help you get further on the violin 🎻. Best wishes from the UK
I dont understand what to do with my fingers,I can plat twinkle just fine with out doing the half bow thing, but when I try to do it that way I dont sound like you at all.Any suggestions?
I thought I was doing okay until I realised you expected me to go down the scale without a break between the open E string and getting the 3 fingers on the A string!

Great job!
Hi everyone, I hope that you enjoy learning to play Twinkle. What was the trickiest bit for you?
Keeping my count for the semi-wavers throws me off for some reason. Trying to take it slow, thank you for the videos.
The trickiest part so far is to produce a reliable good sound, but well it'll improve over time I guess !
I Love this Twinkle Twinkle Variation, Hennriette! I am ready to go on to lesson 9. See you there 🙂🎻

When you learn by yourself, there is no set progress time! Just move on to the next lesson when you feel able to. Good luck and have fun!
thank you so much!

I don't understand Lesson 8.... Please anybody can help?

I thought I was doing okay until I realised you expected me to go down the scale without a break between the open E string and getting the 3 fingers on the A string!
Take your time! You make take longer at first, and graudally get used to there being no break. 🤞👏🎻
Your all fingers are in A string?what do you mean by each line?
15:00 (Don't mind this, it is just my replay button)
👍👏🌸
I am so embarrassed, I'm still in here, what lines are you playing on note A and what lines are you playing on line E. How do I understand that?

22or 33 means you will just keep two or three of your fingers on the string and repeating it two times depends on repeation the number
You got this!
What do you mean? This means I understand the topic? Thank you very much for answering my question 🥰🥰🥰❤👌

hi...
I don't understand what are you doing with your fingers and about the bow it's always in A string or what?I'm sorry for bothering you 😘🥰
