In London all the Premier Inns have their own onsite restaurants called Tyme, no Beefeaters, no Brewers Fayre. And often cheaper to stay than the Travelodges. Every Premier Inn has an onsite restaurant, not all Travelodges do.

The egg problem is that they are cooked in massive individual Yorkshire pudding tins, so depending on the evenness of the oven you can get between fairly runny and cremated in the same tin. But as others have mentioned you can always ask for whatever you want to be freshly cooked. Also the toasters conveyor belt in Premier inn's seem to be set on fast, meaning 2 passes for brown toast and 4 passes for a crispy crumpet.

They're usually loads of eggs. You can just chose whichever one looks best. TBH it's a bit poor to slate the egg without even trying it........

A huge amount depends on which Premier Inn or Travellodge you visit. Even the same one on different days can vary. The large ones with buffet are nice as you can pick and choose rather than order, but when you do order, it's more likely to have been freshly cooked rather than congealing under a hot lamp. That's when my worst experiences were; in self service inns on quiet days, when the hot food has been languishing a bit too long under the lamp. This is true for both chains, where I have had some experience especially in Luton and Worthing (both hotels).

It might have changed since then but the last time I went to a travel lodge, the only breakfast option was some kind of ‘continental basket’ that was delivered to your room and just had a bottle of orange juice, slices of toast, fruit, yoghurt and pastries. There was no option for a cooked breakfast whatsoever.

I'd have to agree with Travelodge is far superior when it come to breakfast.
Premier Inn ambience is much better though 👍
I think you marked it right tbh.

I totally agree. I suppose a bit like travel lodge the dry mushrooms was under the heat lamp for a while ?? How about the bottles of branded sauce instead of sachet to be honest both the veggie and regular sausage in travel lodge looked dry as F
Also depending on how busy both of them are
As to how fast the food get turned around
I love a nice soft egg. I would of asked for a new one and waited

I've stayed at a lot of premier inns over past few years and have to say it depends what company the inn is connected to for breakfasts some are better than others.

The young kid filming you at the top of your intro was proper comedy gold moment.😂. This video was worth it just for that!!😂.
Got to say the food looked clean and well presented. I also think the price is reasonable. From cereal, to Jam butties, to sausages, to orange juice, to Coffee, to pocketed Nutella, you certainly got your eclectic money’s worth!!
I liked the comedy sound effect over the egg as well!! It did not look great.I have stayed in the premier Inn and travel lodge many times and I was not aware that you could just walk in from the street and buy a breakfast, so thank you for that.
One small gripe. I prefer the analysis as you sit down to eat the food rather than the “musical interlude”. I’m sorry but I just do. I also like it when you interact with the staff etc…or even have someone with you. I guess it’s that’s whole thing of “eating food as a shared experience”. I get why you have to do this sometimes but that’s just my own personal preference. I just think “the live atmosphere” inside an eating establishment is always better.
I would give the food a solid 7 and as for you, you’re always great Mc.👌.
    Keep’em coming!!x

As someone for years has stayed in Premier Inn and Travelodge for years and I mean over 100 nights a year. I can assure you the Premier Inn is miles better. If you want scrambled or poached eggs they will get them for you and I think as someone said if you don't like your fried eggs they will get you some more. I think you got a bad one there. Orange juice is like water in the travelodge and the coffee is not a patch on Premier Inn. Just my view but from probably over 1000 nights of having the breakfasts. Yes I should really stick to the fruit salad.

We stay at premier inns now and then with the kids as they’re ideal . We always do breakfast as it’s such a great deal as is the travelodge. . We’ve always found the breakfast to be very hit and miss. Usually better when it’s linked to a beefeater rather than brewers fayre! Better in both of those than In hotel itself . We’ve had one with a table table restaurant linked but can’t remember what it was like !

I was in a premier inn a couple of weeks ago in london, ive never eaten egg like it - almost plastic with a runny yolk, the sausages were lovely though. If you didnt notice, they cook everything in one industrial cooker - it cooks sausages, bacon, hasbrowns and egg all at once, a bit weird. .But i agree, average at best. Premier inn rooms are far superior to Travelodge though.

I went to a premier inn for breakfast twice. I went once a few months ago and enjoyed it even though I was absolutely stuffed afterwards and the food was lovely. The second time was when I was on holiday, I had one and it was nice but not as nice as before but perhaps that was because they had Brewers Fayre instead of Beefeater. It was nice and I will be going again whilst I am in Devon to go down to my favourite castle as I am staying at a premier inn.

I think a lot depends on the time you go as well. It's not like a pub or cafe where it's cooked to order so that's why I always try and go down to breakfast as early as possible when I'm staying at a hotel... Like a lot of the comments, Premier Inn has always been the better of the two for breakfasts for me in the past so was a little surprised at this result.

I have been to many premier inns and can say again it depends on which one you go to or which pub chain the premier is attached to.
Some Premier Inns serve your hot food to you and others are buffet style so help yourself. My husband and son love their breakfasts due to all you can eat. They stuff themselves stupid. Their sausages are very nice and have a unique taste I have to say. The only things I don’t like the is toaster thing as having to hover around until toast is ready can take a while and can feel pressured into moving on.
They do pastries, crumpets, gluten options and choc chip, blueberry muffins options. Find it a waste of time most of them can’t be put in the toaster to warm them up. Plenty choice of cereal, yogurts and fruits etc

On appearance except eggs the food looked a clinically okay. I guess I'm never going to find out how hash browns made it to the full English. I would give the food a 6.5. Been to my local Premier Inn (Brewyers Fayre) quite a bit over the last year. The quality differes week by week. It's never been the same each visit, which is wired as the ingredients are the same. Over my many visits I would rate the unlimited breakfast on average 6/10. The worst experience here was waiting 15 minutes at the self serve for mushy sausages.
Much prefer a Spoons breakfast, which even after adding extras to a large breakfast it works out less than Premier Inn and is far superior.

The problem with these big places like travelodge, premier inn, and spoons, etc. is that it's mostly all cooked in an oven and then kept warm under the heat lamps. If they made it to order, it might cost more, but the standard would be better. And more people would buy it, or stay and have it in the morning. One of my old jobs always had us staying in premier inns, we never stayed for breakfast, always went to a local place. Far better quality and it helps the local business.

Think you've been unlucky there. I have stayed in many Travelodge Lodge and Premier Inns and Premier inn has always won hands down. However Premier inn in most cases weren't buffet. You ordered what you wanted from the waitress and it was always cooked fresh. You then ordered more of it if you wanted at no extra cost. If they've gone over to buffet style, then that's probably why. It had probably been sitting there too long and dried up. Maybe you arrived at breakfast late into the service? Anyway enjoyed the vlog thanks

Got to say macmaster in the experiences I’ve had I prefer premier inn breakfast over travelodge, though for the price of ~£10 pp (especially in London) you can’t grumble at either. Coffee much better at premier inn for starters as you point out. Re the eggs, if you get a friendly enough host they will tell you if you ask for one cooked to your liking they will get it to you ASAP, done it plenty of times and they are happy to oblige 👍 Try Dishoom for a breakfast if you haven’t already, there’s a few of them around London and the food is very nice

On my trips to UK stayed in many Premier Inns, so had many brekkies there. The smaller ones do brekkie to order not buffet. I am surprised buffets are still going in covid times. Banned in OZ. Anyway price ok. Sauce in bottles good. Food looked ok, rubbery eggs and tough bacon though, plenty of it, 7 from me, your travelodge review was better food, depends on the cook. PS toast was not cooked long enough, Lee likes it dark.

Lee it looked nice, but personally I give the edge to the Travel Lodge Breakfast. Cheaper and better. 👍🏻👍🏻😁

Looked OK that Lee, but I agree, the Travelodge looked way better. The highlight for me was a COOKED tomato instead of the regular WARM tomato. Quite the opposite for the toast though, that was warm bread. Needed at least another 2 runs through the machine.

I think it’s great value especially if you have a little one with you . The only thing I don’t like is the eggs , why don’t they have someone to cook eggs in front of you . That’s what they do in most hotels in Vietnam and you can choose how you want them cooked . 7 out of 10

Trouble is consistency, you could try two others and results might be reversed. Thought you'd mention the bottles of condiments.

What about all the people that have touched the sauce bottle that is likely covered in germs. Prefer sachets IMO.

Agree with most. However, did npt see croissants, muffins etc in travelodge. Plus points there so 7.3 for me.

I've been a 'victim' of both chains cooked breakfasts. I personally wouldn't recommend either, mostly because the food has often been left out, for who knows how long. - to receive the best quality, you have to hit them, when the food is fresh. I'd much rather support a non chain or unfranchised smaller business that HAS to focus on quality and value.. for their survival. - you've got a much better chance of a tastier meal.

Never mind how much is all you can eat, it's much more about how much you would want to eat.
