Concise breakfast review gary. I went into Travelodge for breakfast and asked the guy behind the counter for two burnt sausages, one cold bacon. two burst eggs and lukewarm beans. The guy replied "I don't know if we can do that." I said, "Why not? You did it last time." 😂
Stayed at a Travelodge near Kings Cross once Went down for Breakfast OMG, the staff must have gone home, every empty table had not been cleared of dirty plates, cups, etc….never again 😡
Lol I stay at travelodges often, barely ever do I get breakfast. Four hot things in metal serving tubs like at school, sausage beans bacon and scrambled eggs, which are from the powder. No choices on egg, scrambled only. Choice of cerals and hot drinks like hot choc though. I tend to go to a nearby Toby instead. Better value, bigger hot range, but cereals are extra.
Every Monday (except bank holidays) we do our business banking in town and adjacent to the bank is a Premier Inn. We have a full breakfast there on each occasion. There is a strategy to getting the best quality of food on offer - if a component looks dry or shrivelled (those heat lamps are powerful) we ask for fresh and are never refused. At £9.99 this has to be the very best value breakfast available, especially as you take as much, or as little, as you want. As for the £24.00 breakfast, they exist everywhere, including Harrods, Harvey Nicholls, Fortnum & Mason and many more but they aren't necessarily value for money.
We eat breakfast out regularly Apart from our local cafes which are great Premier inn is our first choice Price Quality usually very good Any problems and they sort us out with whatever I might be a little biased but Premier inn for us £19.98 for Mrs & myself 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ We see some customers go back and do it twice or more Phew 😮💨 I’m usually ok with the one visit 😂😂😂
I would agree with you that at just shy of a tenner it'ss excellent value, but usally the high end operators do use more high end products. However, as Gary has pointed out in other videos, it costs far from a tenner and you are left questioning whether you got value for money. I tend to go where there are couriers and taxi drivers in London, and truckers and bikers outside (none of these groups go to a crappy place)
You can spend alot more on a set meal, i think £25 for a buffet is not bad. It's basically the same as approx two full English breakfasts, give or take. So if your heavy eater like me, it's just about worth it. If your a light eater for breakfast, then £25 is a bit steep
@@charlesjay8818 I work for the John Lewis Partnership and we have a subsidised partner dining room. A full English breakfast costs just £1.35 so I have probably become a complete tight-arse 😝
I used to work for the Premier Inn as a Chef and loved it. Been doing it prior to that in all sorts of kitchens but PI was my favourite. Would work 60 hour shifts a week often though. The buffet is great fun to do but behind the scenes, I would 95% of the time be by myself, making the hot food, washing up, deliveries, any inspections or audits, prepping for Dinner, some paperwork, date checking and a few other bits, all on my Todd. With the food on the buffet, bacon its pretty much cold as soon as its out. Doesn’t hold its temperature very well, and the hash browns are best stacked on their side to avoid getting soggy. Anyway, enjoyed this vid Gary and Camera Man. And glad you picked my old ghost 👻 😂
Hi Gary and Mr Cameraman. Well firstly Gary i personally like these comparison vlogs, it gives you a good incite into two places. Re these two, for me it was a no brainer the difference of over £14 makes the decision very simple, to which how odd both places made a slight bodge up on the same food groups. By the way Gary tell Mr Shy cameraman his photography is very good, i keep looking for that slip up where you get to see his reflection in the glass or a passing car, but he always manages to avoid being caught. Chris.
Hi Chris. Thanks mate, I know you're a fan of them. You'll also be delighted to know I've got the review that you asked me to do penciled in for soon! Haha, the Stig is a clever so so. He will really appreciate that :)
nope, you hold your fork the right way up (prongs down), and both the knife and fork handles in the palm of your hand. And I really fancy a buffet breakfast now 😂 @@GaryEats
Hi Gary, as always thank you for the review, excellent as always. What I love is that you are reviewing restaurants that us the ordinary folks are eating at. £24 for breakfast which is about €29 is just, "sweet Jesus !!!" . I've always found Premier Inns great value for rooms/food etc, £10 is great value which is about €12. Can't wait to see your reviews when you visit us here in Ireland ☘️☘️☘️
Another great video. I like the way that always a the first spoonful enters your mouth (every video) you look straight ahead expressionless and really focus on the taste. It’s like watching a professional wine taster :)
Gary, Enjoyed the video. On the size of the plate with the buffet, our favorite breakfast buffet place, the owner told us that with a larger plate, people will put more on than they could eat, Too much wasted food he told us. Good afternoon from the U.S.A.
Been watching for a couple of months and must say, these are the most genuine reviews doone with no biasness and openminded must say thank you for the content and the entertainment
Spot on Gary, with the Premier Inn breakfast choice, great value aswel. And for some reason it always seems to be a quiet atmosphere in there. Brilliant review as always. 👏
Never eaten in a Premier Inn but have stayed in a number of their hotels around the country. They're nothing fancy but always decent sized clean room, great bed and value for money.
The Premier Inn was by far the best value, bacon is always slightly difficult on a buffet, if there is lid on the container the bacon ends up in a pool of condensation, I prefer it drier anyway!!! As ever with a buffet timing makes the difference as the various items get replenished.
My vote is for the cheaper place. Good value for money. I have 3 paid streaming services, but somehow this is my favourite thing to watch atm. Thanks Gary! You are truly one of the most genuine and interesting people I have seen on RUclips for a very long time.
I love a good cooked breakfast when I’m staying in a hotel. One thing I always pay attention to though is how clean the plates and cutlery are - you’d be surprised (or maybe you wouldn’t!) how many times this has been an issue.
I find hotels hit and miss for a cooked breakfast. Some use cheap ingredients. The best I had was in the Europa Hotel in Belfast it was a fantastic breakfast.
My favourite hotel breakfast is where you have a hot a la carte menu combined with cold buffet items (juices/fruits/pastries). The Castle in Dartmouth and The Grasmere Hotel are top examples.
Chances are, both kitchens cook up a big batch of bacon and a big batch of hash browns first thing, and dole them out during the morning. So the bacon dries out a bit and the hash browns get soggy. That's better than a diner that I visited in my travels that cooked a big pile of bacon the evening before and just threw a towel over it for the night.
Interesting video's, to me personally 24 quid too expensive you've got to have a bit of colour with well cooked sausage, so for me the Premier Inn wins it, got to be honest with you and having been in the hospitality business for over 50 years (like yourself) bacon us notoriously hard to keep hot without it drying out better to eat it fresh from grilled, also the Shakedown uses chaffing dishes which keeps the food hot by the bain marie system (boiling water) with flammable jelly alight to keep it boiling ive used them hundreds of tmes but I've never been happy with that heating method and to keep the food temperature above the legal limit (63c) is virtual impossible electric hotplates all the time for me you can't beat a fry up,table served freshly cooked in a good cafe great video Gary as normal, cheers mate.
Hi Christopher, may I politely point out that his breakfast wasn’t getting cold as he hadn’t entered the building yet. In addition, any pre-cooked hot items were being held at a safe food storage temperature. Hope this helps.
Now you mention the hash brown controversy but I love a hash brown. Bread gives me heart burn so I swap it out for hash browns or potato cakes/farls which I can handle. One thing I love with a breakfast that you rarely see is bubble and squeak….but here’s the real controversy…I’ve never done it but I think Yorkshire puddings would be a cracking addition to a full English to help moo up the beans, scrambled eggs and tomatoes. I could see people layering them up with their favourite bits for an incredible “scuse the fingers” bite or too. I’ve seen breakfast wraps and pastries so why not! I challenge you to find somewhere that serves them with breakfast!! Loving the videos as always good sir 👍🏻 top man for helping that driver btw
Now that is the strangest breakfast request ever, however I think it’s a really clever one, imagine the Yorkshire pudding full of lovely beans. I’m now going to find a cafe which serves it challenge accepted 😳😳😳😳👍
When our children were small, and we travelled to England, we often stayed at a Premier Inn, as children under 16 eat for free. That’s a big saving, if you’re four people, and the breakfast was always good. 🙂
@@michaelb2388 Post-Covid, Premier Inn appear have cut corners on the quality of many items, the bacon and sausages in particular must be the cheapest available and compared to five years ago are not good.
Must say, whenever presented with a hotel buffet i tend to pig out on the continental as their fried is gash. Love that cold meat and cheese and pastry. Greasy spoon for the fryup.
An interesting comparison and both looked pretty good. I think bacon's a bit of a problem for buffets. It doesn't do at all well under heat lamps and I wonder if the Victorians didn't do it better with chafing dishes. Worth considering that we all tend to like the same foods in a 'full English' and there's only so much of anything we can eat at one sitting. So who wouldn't go for the cheapest version? Sometimes the ambience is worth paying for, and sometimes not and I agree, for breakfast who cares, really? Definitely it's the Premier Inn for me.
Interesting comparison Gary - I would have thought the expensive option would have stood out but it obviously did not on the day. For a tenner the Premier Inn was a worthy winner and better VFM - either option I would have left with a full belly but with a healthier wallet from Premier Inn so have to agree with you too!
The first place the food did look great colour wise - very vibrant, maybe the lighting they use? But a Premier Inn is an ok venue usually, and you can't ignore the huge price difference. I would choose the Premier Inn and save the extra money for lunch or dinner.
I always feel so hungry when watching you eat!! I think the Premier Inn was the best for money the toast looked nicer, the sausages were cooked more plus all those tea's That is a good deal and the fried egg looked perfect. I'm interested to know the time the session finishes although don't think I am ever up in time to go out for breakfast. Thank you for sharing
The breakfast buffet at the Windsor marriot where we stayed when we went to legoland was amazingly good. Waffles made to order , omelettes made to order and every kind of breakfast food imaginable.
Done quite a few courses during my career and always stayed at the premium inn and found them reasonable on all levels Love melon after a cooked breakfast to cleanse my palate Thank you Gary for another interesting comparison
Oh yes! Double breakfast. Steak earlier in the week and now breakfast. 😁 I have stayed at several Premier Inn and I think their breakfasts are excellent. Sausages could have definitely done with a bit longer. Bacon looked disappointing and the scrambled eggs looked superb. Can't comment on the hash Brown as they are awful even when done properly.😁 Beans are beans. I don't have tea bags at home. I only uses loose leaf in a pot as I like my tea lethally strong. £24 isn't too bad if you were starving you'd get your moneys worth. The Premier Inn breakfast looked pretty good. The sausages looked better cooked. Bacon does not seen to survive well under heat lamps. Eggs looked pretty good. At that price it's an absolute bargain. I Bearing in mind the prices, you have to give the edge to Premier Inn. Excellent comparative review and very fair.
I travel a lot down South and always use Premier Inn as I need a Wet Room and this chain has the best available and in most cases offer free parking for guests. Consequently we've had endless amounts of their breakfasts and truly never been disappointed for the price : fruit , cereal , toast , crumpets , etc,etc......only complaint and this seems to be an issue nationwide is they've replaced a traditional black pudding for a none traditional hash brown , it's an English breakfast I don't want an American item on my plate. Great review as always Gary and you'll be hitting that 50k before you know it 👍
@@gyrogeargoose ...basically they're a walk in shower room with a seat on the wall and the floors are totally flat so nothing to trip on or obstruct wheelchair users . They don't have shower trays as the whole room is water tight and the drain plug is in the floor , now gaining popularity with those without disabilities.
I agree with you Gary ... I would go for the Premier Inn. It's very good value for an English breakfast, especially considering it's a buffet. The 24 pound one ... not a chance. I would never pay that for a breakfast!!
Thoroughly reviewed and fair and balanced. 👌👌👌 Choice, selection and quality ✔️ was there visually It must be hard to keep integrity of bacon and hash browns. Heat is usually the top problem isn’t it. Both are great. Premier can be expensive but your usually staying there , often pay it as an easy treat.
Stayed at premier inn Birmingham just before Christmas. The breakfast £9.99 and was totally spot on. 10 outta 10. Bacon looked a lot better than you had i gotta say. Cooked perfect with griddle marks. No complaints... certainly for the price. Thanks Gary
Nice video chap…Every time I visit the UK over the years when I’m doing city breaks I always stay at the “Premier Inn” and always enjoy the breakfasts 100%.👌👌 The first hotel the price of £24 was very pricey….I’m happy with “Premier Inn” any day….
For £24 I wouldn’t expect anything to be bad! Bacon definitely dried up, that’s one big problem with buffets isn’t it, stuff does dry up if left out for too long under the lamps, I suppose you just leave off the bacon and have more of other foods, I would ! We’ve had premier inn brekki’s before and for the price they are pretty good and you do get a good selection of other items, I love a danish then onto main event 😂. Totally agree with you on this one, such brilliant value for money 👍😀 thanks Gary 😊
Hi Gary, Thanks for another great review. About plate size and portion size. Down here in Australia I am finding some places are reducing the size of plates even coffee cups but charging more. I was in a bakery yesterdsy where I haven't been for over 12 months. There pie size has decreased but again price has gone up. Like you say, not a problem at all you can eat Interesting to see what others say about this. Gary, thanks again for your Channel. Regards Dave Australia
Thank you David I’m guessing it’s the cost of living issues in every country, buffet wise not so much an issue but quality tends to go out the window, thank you for commenting and have a great week 👍
This as usual was a great one. On prices alone the premier inn takes it for me. Less then a tenner. Standards in both places were similar but more then twice the price? I don’t think so. Well done. 👍
We stayed at the Premier Inn at Lewes in East Sussex around Christmas and I have to admit that it certainly rated as one of the better breakfasts I've had in a hotel. The hot food was taken to order and it was all really good. Well cooked and no limits to what you could have. Coffee, tea, toast, cereal and croissants were all buffet, but I really couldn't fault it. The previous evening we had dinner in a pub called the "rights of man" next to the courts, really good food with a combination of Tapas and classic English dishes, worth paying a visit.
I'm not keen on the 'taking an order' aspect. I only have four items - bacon sausage egg and beans. I'd prefer a second batch. I don't feel comfortable asking for 6 sausages (they're small!). And the beans come in small ramekins so really you need 3
Hi Gary Very interesting review today on the breakfast buffet. Bacon in particular is notoriously not good from a buffet unless you almost get it as soon as they refill the tray. Not a great fan of hash browns either so rather they did bubble and squeak. Good to see the beans were hot because one thing I cannot stand is warm or cold beans. The scrambled egg seemed to be be very nice at both places which is good because they can dry out as well on a buffet. I’m with you there wasn’t a great deal between the 2 places but the premier inn was far the better value for money. Best breakfast I ever had was on an old inter city train back in the day. It was blooming fantastic!
It was Gary and the good thing at that time by ordering breakfast it was served in first class. Did the whole journey from Nottingham to Lo don that way as they kept topping up the coffee. Amazingly it was a brilliant breakfast for a train!@@GaryEats
For a tenner you really can't go far wrong with a Premier Inn breakfast. As you say with tea/coffee, juice, toast etc included its very good value for average quality food. Not the best quality but far from the worst either. Another fair and well balanced review from you 👍
Not this wld happen of course, but I think a Microwave should be made available because imo Buffets Grub, usually suffers with the chill effect! But this doesn't look to bad, fairly decent food& selection!
I have a guilty secret (I am sure others have done!): when very hundover, I can drink a litre of orange juice in one sitting, that is before the breakfast is even ready (and/or before I can even face cooking it). I do like black pudding, and white if it is available, on my breakfast. But the back bacon, sausages, eggs and mushrooms (sorry!) and a fried slice are all welcome components of a "real breakfast", with lots of toast if I can stomach it! I usually wash that down with good, strong tea (coffee later, maybe)
The main thing I judge hotels by is the quality of the breakfast! Having travelled around the world all of my adult life and stayed in 5-star hotels for the most part, I adore filling my plate with good sausages!! Ironically when I do return to the UK I crave cheap Richmond sausages!!!
@@GaryEats Hi Gary, I agree completely and as a Brit here in Xiamen, China, I produce and sell high quality sausages and pies amongst other “Western” foodstuffs but, and I really cannot work out why, I desperately need the Richmond “fix” whenever I get back to the U.K.!
Thanks Gary, terrific video as always. For me, the best thing about the Premier Inn breakfast is the two kids eat for free with an adult deal. Compared to your usual motorway services prices, we pay 20 quid for my wife, 3 kids and myself when we go. Tremendous value and a great stopover on UK holidays.
I love Premiere Inn's buffets Gary.. Last time in London they cooked some of the breakfast specially when I asked so it was piping hot... The staff are always outstanding... an easy one to score for me. Your comparison reviews are my favourite .
Gary I have to tell you two funny things. 1. When I am making dinner I watch your videos while cooking. Every time we watch them we then change our mind to what you’re eating! 2. My whole family watches your content. When we drop something on a plate or the table we now call it “ doing a Gary “ 😂😂😂 Thank you as always for the great reviews.
I'll go for the Premier Inn breakfast the Premier Inn one look good the Premier Inn breakfast and you're the one look good as soon the two breakfast look good for the one for £9 and how much was the other one Katherine Marie Susan Carrington @@GaryEats
Hi Gary, thanks very much for another super video. Great watching over the weekend. One thing did you forget to give them a grade because I was waiting for the marks out of 10 but I didn’t hear it. I may have missed it, but I didn’t think you graded each of the hotels to be honest with you looking at both breakfasts, the shakedown looks as though you’ve been shaken down Because £25 almost for that breakfast that didn’t look anything special seems excessive. I have eaten at Premier Inn before and found it not too bad but for £9.95. It’s pretty good value you can’t argue with that once again. Many thanks for an excellent video. Looking forward to the next one bye Janet
@@GaryEats hi Gary, thank you so much for replying. You are becoming a legend in our family now and we all very anxious and eager to see your reviews. You’ve become very popular in the household now! I think you’re scoring is correct and very fair. The eight for the Premier Inn is what we scored at. I’m very good value for money too, we gave the shake down a five simply because of the cost. Thanks again Gary we can’t wait for the next next video you’re a star!
Another masterpiece of a review Gary. For £9.99 the breakfast was brilliant. I have had it before, you can even have fruit salad and all the drinks for an incredible price. I go with 2 of my nephews, and my nephews son eats free, so to me magnificent.
Love your channel I'm so happy you did Premier Inn I'm a Brit living in the middle east and when I visit the UK my first port of call is A premier In , never stay anywhere else. The first breakfast is big buffet fry up, as you say its cheaper than a high St cafe. As we cant get pork products here I really pig on my first visit. 4 sausages 2 fried eggs 6 rashers bacon mushrooms hash browns and toast, endless cups of tea and ever a croissant with butter and jam . AT 9 .99 pounds the best value ever. It's the breakfast that sells The Premier Inn
Loving Gary moonlighting as a Parking Attendant - a man of many talents! Another great video and a fair assessment. In terms of the expensive breakfast buffet, I would point you to Ting Restaurant which is based in the Shangri La Hotel in the Shard...£45 per person! They have the breakfast items we know and love, as well as smoked salmon, bagels, chia seed yoghurts and also Ramen and Dim Sum. So the Dixon's breakfast buffet at an eye watering £24 makes me wonder how much can they reach for in London? If you can find the most expensive Gary, me and other viewers will fund it for you mate no problem... (it's gone all quiet in the back!😂)
@@GaryEats Thanks Gary. It's just mad how the cost of what essentially is a simple first meal of the day has rocketed. I get quality of ingredients and so such, but with the Shard it's £45 +5% service charge and I have a feeling there are others in London, as if not more expensive which is crazy. But again Gary keep up the terrific vids. I started following you at 9k subs a few months ago and now you are hitting 50k - you are killing it and a massive well done to you man
Premier Inn takes it for value. One thing though, I don’t like cooked fried eggs sat in cooking fat/oil - I either go for scrambled or I ask them to cook a fresh fried egg. Enjoyed the video Gary.
Premier Inn breakfasts are a good deal, especially at the busier hotels, but the quieter ones have a slower turn-around so food is left out longer. But even then, if you time it right they're very good for the money.
The one thing I've found with buffet type breakfasts in hotels is the hot food is either undercooked when it first comes out (they seem to allow for some food laying there untouched for a while so it will still be "cooking") or it's overcooked (been sitting there for while still cooking as it wasn't being eaten). The cooked food is not often hot enough either. Not a fan of them myself for that reason. I prefer to find a nice cafe somewhere like E.Peliccis or Regent Cafe or Terry's Cafe for a cooked to order quality breakfast. Also, as I'm not a really big eater, all you can eat buffets don't work for me as the price of them generally outweighs how much I'm going to eat. As well as that, those snail paced toast contraptions that take 4 days to toast your bread drive me up the wall. Each to their own I guess. Enjoyed your video though Gary. Good comparison. Premier Inn wins for me - virtually same basic cooked menu for half the price !
Hi Gary I once stayed at the Premier Inn, County Hall (for work). Fantastic location! What really struck me was that, because there was so much construction in the area at the time, all the Trade guys ate there. Good job I had a room! Also they did have Black Pudding 😊 and the turn over was so quick the Hash Browns were still crispy! Absolutely Love Your Channel. Steve 🎯
More great video content as always Gary ! / When working away I do not not always have breakfast (I don't really have it at home ever). Anyway, when I do have breaky working away, I always have the fruit / yogurt (etc) to start - probably because it is available, rather than because I want it! / Mmmm -well the Premier Inn breaky does not look half that bad. / I agree with you - I do not think you can fault the premier inn breaky on value grounds. mark.
Great review Gary. Yes I would go for Premier inn any day . I can’t imagine my wife and me paying nearly £50 -00 for two breakfasts. Cafe prices have shot up in the last couple of years but premier inn are still good value . 👍
I struggle with buffet breakfasts; typically find, hash browns not crispy, Ekky Thump, bacon and sausages dry and hard, beans going to mush. My best breakfast is Brown's Mayfair... cooked to order and nice surprises like duck eggs, beans in a ramekin, kippers on the side. I also like the idea of everything served to the table in a cast iron skillet... and there was a place in Marylebone that did a nice job of that.
I still think the Travel Lodge at Euston provides one of the best for value and pretty good quality. I was there a few weeks ago and it was under £11 for an all you can eat and included hot and cold drinks. Absolutely loads of choice for hot or cold breakfast. I always have a full English when out and they served good Cumberland sausages (no herbs, fortunately), back bacon, hash browns etc. The scrambled egg was a good colour and firm and all told, I could not fault it. Had breakfast there two days running and it was well worth it.
Again, a fair review and I can't fault your reasoning. For my part, I've stayed in Premier Inns around the UK for years and I absolutely love their breakfasts. I always go for the black pudding and I mark down any establishment that doesn't offer this delicacy. I wouldn't want to pay £24 for a bog standard 'full English'.
The high-end breakfast looked good 😊 though I like my toast wellll done so those toasters take forever to get it to where I like it. I just keep putting it through 😅what you had was warm bread 😂😊 that Premier Inn breakfast didn't look as bad as I expected it too 😊 much better toasted toast there too 😊 thank you for another great review ❤😊 just love watching your content 😊
The premier Inn was surprisingly good 👍🏾 and real value too. I can understand it’s not easy to keep bacon hot without it drying out or boiling in condensation. Scrambled eggs are anther tricky one so top marks to both for that 👍🏾
Thanks Gary good video again. As a retired chef who has cooked thousands of breakfasts, I always say the sausage is the main event on the breakfast plate. If the sausage is good it makes the whole breakfast. The sausages were better quality at the first place. Generally the whole buffet presentation was much better. Glad you enjoyed both.
A very interesting comparison, Gary. I do love to see both ends of the spectrum be reviewed, honestly. You know what? I see this same outcome in other areas than just the food industry. Thank you.
That premier Inn gets the thumbs up from me, all looked good quality, choice of food and freshly made - a make or break with that type of buffet breakfast. Great value all you can eat too has to be a major bonus :) Personally i'd never spend £25 on a buffet breakfast and would expect perfection for that price.
Another fair review, Gary. I totally agree with you that the Premier Inn breakfast wins hands down. I think £24 is pretty pricey for a breakfast wherever you are. Keep up with the good work!
I enjoyed this new video, Gary. I thought thev first breakfast looked better all-round, but did it warrant such a steep price increase? I dont think so. The second , Premier Inn breakfast was a good, solid breakfast but also seemed very good value.
Both breakfasts did look very good especially for a buffet style. I've had worse with table service. I totally agree with your comments about the price difference not being wholly justified. Going on appearance alone the sausages and toast did look more appetising at the Premier Inn. At the first place they looked as if they had been cooked in a warm breeze. Just my personal taste.
Love your videos/reviews. The food in both would not tempt me, I'd rather go to my local cafe where you order your breakfast - you get less, but it is good quality, local butchers make the sausages and the eggs are free range AND you get fried bread. Tea is tea leaves in a pot!
I sometimes have a crooked breakfast out and it's usually around a tenner, but not as much as you can eat and tea is extra, great value at the premier and looks pretty good quality, plus you can have cereal to start 9 out of 10
I always find the scrambled eggs to be the coldest component of any hotel breakfast, surprised both of yours were hot. I didn't realise you could pay as an outside guest for a Premier Inn breakfast.
Premier inn is good quality and value for a penny shy of a tenner. I recently went in my local Wetherspoons where drinks are extra, so is black pudding. And that brekkie was close to a tenner but i find the general quality of the ingredients is lower nowadays and it's hit and miss whether they bring your food hot tepid or cold.
Great review again Gary - You cut sausage at a 45° angle so clearly know your stuff. I've unfortunately had more Hotel Breakfasts than I've had at home due to my work. You could do a whole season on this for me - Bacon in a Bain Marie + about 10 minutes = Shoe leather. Your summary was spot on. Thanks Gary 🤓
Aside from the scrambled eggs looking better at Shakedown, that did not look like a £24 breakfast. In my opinion that was poor value for money. On the other hand, the Premier Inn breakfast looked only slightly lower quality, for example, the bacon looked very tatty on the tray but represented outstanding value for money. Well done Premier Inn & congratulations Gary on highlighting this difference. Great work. P.S. Where was the brown sauce? I didn't see it at either venue & I'm sorry but a fry-up isn't complete without Daddies sauce.😉
@@rundattmedia2106 You're quite right, apologies, there was evidence of brown sauce on the plate. Evidently missed it. Thank you for pointing this out.👍. PS I'm overdue for an optician appointment😂😂😂
Very fair review. I couldn’t justify spending £24 on breakfast (despite it having more choice) when I could have almost the same breakfast for less than half the price. I’ve had plenty of Premier Inn breakfasts over the years and they do very greatly in quality - it seems to depend largely on the chef on duty. Oh, and I absolutely hate those rotary toasters - they have almost never been set correctly and either burn the toast or under-cook it so that you have to send it through a second time, resulting in burnt toast again.
Good idea for a review, Gary 👍🏼 Reversing lorries seem to be a theme now! 😄 Think you hit the nail on the head with this one, Premier Inn if you want an all you can eat traditional style fry up at a good price and only got to Shakedown if you want salmon and other bits and pieces. Looking forward to the next review 👍🏼
I was actually surprised at how good value for money it was in the Premier Inn. Think I would have a hearty breakfast, but also get enough sausages to make myself a sausage sandwich for later on.
Retired now, but in my past, I travelled all over the world, but when I was in England, I always chose Premier Inn because they always had a good pub attached to them and the quality was always excellent value for money and the breakfast was excellent. Value for Money wise , I always chose Premier Inn.
I’ve never been a fan of buffets of any kind but I don’t have a problem with it if I can get the eggs cooked fresh, and in high end establishments an option for eggs Benedict etc. My nightmares take me back to the buffets of the 3 star hotels in Spain in the 90s! Luckily things have moved forwards.
Hash Browns are a cheap 'nasty breakfast filler. They're American derived and have no place in a proper British breakfast. You need some proper Black Pudding on that plate.
You're on the money! Shakedown may be a slightly better breakfast in terms of the wider ingredients on offer but people go for staple breakfast items at breakfast as you pointed out. Its less about the experience for breakfast as well, people get excited about the experience for lunch or dinner. On that basis its not worth 2 and a half times more than the premier inn. Nice one Gary.
Both breakfasts looked nice, l don't mind my bacon a bit dry to be honest but the value for money Premier Inn is hard to beat. l have stayed at a few Premier Inns and they have all been very good
Hi Gary I have allways found that the Premier Inn breakfast to be very good value for money at at all you can eat venue you wont beat it. Like you said the selection of teas are always good.
Concise breakfast review gary. I went into Travelodge for breakfast and asked the guy behind the counter for two burnt sausages, one cold bacon. two burst eggs and lukewarm beans. The guy replied "I don't know if we can do that." I said, "Why not? You did it last time." 😂
🤣🤣 brilliant!

Went down for Breakfast
OMG, the staff must have gone home, every empty table had not been cleared of dirty plates, cups, etc….never again 😡
Classic.
Lol
I stay at travelodges often, barely ever do I get breakfast.
LoL😅
Mr. Gary, you’re an incredibly fair & unpretentious food reviewer. Watching your videos is like a breath of fresh air.
You’re incredibly kind. Thank you!
Fully fully agree with you good comment thank you 😊
We eat breakfast out regularly Apart from our local cafes which are great Premier inn is our first choice Price Quality usually very good Any problems and they sort us out with whatever I might be a little biased but Premier inn for us £19.98 for Mrs & myself 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
We see some customers go back and do it twice or more Phew 😮💨 I’m usually ok with the one visit 😂😂😂
I don't think I could ever justify spending £25 on a buffet breakfast or even a buffet lunch. But for £10 yes, every time 👍
Totally understand and agree 👍
You can spend alot more on a set meal, i think £25 for a buffet is not bad. It's basically the same as approx two full English breakfasts, give or take. So if your heavy eater like me, it's just about worth it. If your a light eater for breakfast, then £25 is a bit steep
@@charlesjay8818 I work for the John Lewis Partnership and we have a subsidised partner dining room. A full English breakfast costs just £1.35 so I have probably become a complete tight-arse 😝
@@cawstongreenway wow thats heavily subsidised. I got a sausage roll from Greggs today for £1.20
@@charlesjay8818 Love a Greggs sausage roll.
I love a Premier Inn breakfast!
Me too!
Wow what an excellent insight that is really appreciated thank you 😊
Hi Gary and Mr Cameraman.
I have never heard anyone complain about a Premier Inn Breakfast. Brilliant value for money
Fully agree Lesley excellent value for your money 💰
There’s something really calming and comforting about your reviews mate. Keep it up!
Thank you so very much
I'm ridiculously pleased to see a food reviewer who holds the cutlery properly.

Thank you!! Had a lot of stick about the way I hold cutlery haha
nope, you hold your fork the right way up (prongs down), and both the knife and fork handles in the palm of your hand.

It’s like watching a professional wine taster :)
Now don’t get me on the wine 🍷….. actually do get me on the wine lol 😂
Gary, Enjoyed the video. On the size of the plate with the buffet, our favorite breakfast buffet place, the owner told us that with a larger plate, people will put more on than they could eat, Too much wasted food he told us. Good afternoon from the U.S.A.
Good evening Jerry. Have a great weekend!!
Been watching for a couple of months and must say, these are the most genuine reviews doone with no biasness and openminded must say thank you for the content and the entertainment
That is very kind to say thank you 😊
Yes I agree 💯
Spot on Gary, with the Premier Inn breakfast choice, great value aswel. And for some reason it always seems to be a quiet atmosphere in there. Brilliant review as always. 👏
Really appreciated Craig thank you 😊
Never eaten in a Premier Inn but have stayed in a number of their hotels around the country. They're nothing fancy but always decent sized clean room, great bed and value for money.
I agree with you completely
The Premier Inn was by far the best value, bacon is always slightly difficult on a buffet, if there is lid on the container the bacon ends up in a pool of condensation, I prefer it drier anyway!!!
As ever with a buffet timing makes the difference as the various items get replenished.
Or trundle the bacon through the beans, will complement each other pretty good.
@@MrKh4Otrundle. 😂 I have not seen that word used In years bloody love it
Fully agree the busier the better the mail 👍
Agreed on Premier Inn breakfast. It was excellent.
My vote is for the cheaper place. Good value for money. I have 3 paid streaming services, but somehow this is my favourite thing to watch atm. Thanks Gary! You are truly one of the most genuine and interesting people I have seen on RUclips for a very long time.
I agree Siobhan it’s far better value, thank you so very much that’s very kind and appreciated x
I love a good cooked breakfast when I’m staying in a hotel. One thing I always pay attention to though is how clean the plates and cutlery are - you’d be surprised (or maybe you wouldn’t!) how many times this has been an issue.
Good point! Have a good weekend
Thanks for sharing Sam thank you 😊
Chances are, both kitchens cook up a big batch of bacon and a big batch of hash browns first thing, and dole them out during the morning. So the bacon dries out a bit and the hash browns get soggy. That's better than a diner that I visited in my travels that cooked a big pile of bacon the evening before and just threw a towel over it for the night.
Wow that is disgraceful Bob not good 😌
Interesting video's, to me personally 24 quid too expensive you've got to have a bit of colour with well cooked sausage, so for me the Premier Inn wins it, got to be honest with you and having been in the hospitality business for over 50 years (like yourself) bacon us notoriously hard to keep hot without it drying out better to eat it fresh from grilled, also the Shakedown uses chaffing dishes which keeps the food hot by the bain marie system (boiling water) with flammable jelly alight to keep it boiling ive used them hundreds of tmes but I've never been happy with that heating method and to keep the food temperature above the legal limit (63c) is virtual impossible electric hotplates all the time for me you can't beat a fry up,table served freshly cooked in a good cafe great video Gary as normal, cheers mate.
I have to bow to your greater knowledge on this one Harold very in depth and informative thank you very much, have a great week mate 👍
The amount of times I have said "Let's give it a go" since finding your channel a month or two ago is unbelievable. Need some Gary Eats merch!
I know I’ll give it a go 😂
Gary is the kind of guy who will help a lorry reverse whilst his breakfast buffet is getting cold 😍
Lol very good Christopher 😂😂
Hi Christopher, may I politely point out that his breakfast wasn’t getting cold as he hadn’t entered the building yet. In addition, any pre-cooked hot items were being held at a safe food storage temperature. Hope this helps.
@@foleywallace459
Except the hash browns?
@@terrypeart3875 No English Gentleman or RUclipsr would countenance “hash browns” in a breakfast. It’s Bubble & Squeak or nothing. 😀
@@foleywallace459
I didn't countenance anything,
I merely made a comment on the ambient temperature of said item.
Good information I will try to include that in future videos thank you 😊
Good breakfast at the Premier Inn? I don't think so!
@@michaelb2388
Post-Covid, Premier Inn appear have cut corners on the quality of many items, the bacon and sausages in particular must be the cheapest available and compared to five years ago are not good.
Must say, whenever presented with a hotel buffet i tend to pig out on the continental as their fried is gash. Love that cold meat and cheese and pastry. Greasy spoon for the fryup.
Can’t fault that Alan 👍
An interesting comparison and both looked pretty good. I think bacon's a bit of a problem for buffets. It doesn't do at all well under heat lamps and I wonder if the Victorians didn't do it better with chafing dishes. Worth considering that we all tend to like the same foods in a 'full English' and there's only so much of anything we can eat at one sitting. So who wouldn't go for the cheapest version? Sometimes the ambience is worth paying for, and sometimes not and I agree, for breakfast who cares, really? Definitely it's the Premier Inn for me.
I fully agree with your comment thank you 😊
Hi Gary, i agree value for your money on your 2nd breakfast visit 😊
Thanks Neil agreed 👍
Interesting comparison Gary - I would have thought the expensive option would have stood out but it obviously did not on the day. For a tenner the Premier Inn was a worthy winner and better VFM - either option I would have left with a full belly but with a healthier wallet from Premier Inn so have to agree with you too!
Totally agree Joe, hope your all good mate and call you soon, I’m I forgiven by the wife yet 🤷♂️😳👍
@@GaryEats Not too sure you'll ever be forgiven pal but u can still call whenever you like 🤣🤣
The first place the food did look great colour wise - very vibrant, maybe the lighting they use? But a Premier Inn is an ok venue usually, and you can't ignore the huge price difference. I would choose the Premier Inn and save the extra money for lunch or dinner.
Great call 👍
I always feel so hungry when watching you eat!! I think the Premier Inn was the best for money the toast looked nicer, the sausages were cooked more plus all those tea's That is a good deal and the fried egg looked perfect. Cracking breaky at the premiere inn I’ve stayed in many, travel lodge isn’t nearly as good!
Gary a definite yes to the Premiere Inn 👍👍
Agree Harry 👍👍👍
Bearing in mind the prices, you have to give the edge to Premier Inn.
Excellent comparative review and very fair.
Thank you for taking the time to comment Andrew really appreciated, I agree with you on this one completely 👍
With all the food eaten this week, how does @GaryEats stay so slim?
The sausage is the key part for me, if it's a good quality sausage with herbs and a nice snap- then you're on to a winner.
👍
I travel a lot down South and always use Premier Inn as I need a Wet Room and this chain has the best available and in most cases offer free parking for guests.
Consequently we've had endless amounts of their breakfasts and truly never been disappointed for the price : fruit , cereal , toast , crumpets , etc,etc......only complaint and this seems to be an issue nationwide is they've replaced a traditional black pudding for a none traditional hash brown , it's an English breakfast I don't want an American item on my plate.
Great review as always Gary and you'll be hitting that 50k before you know it 👍

It must be hard to keep integrity of bacon and hash browns. Heat is usually the top problem isn’t it. Both are great. Premier can be expensive but your usually staying there , often pay it as an easy treat.
That very kind thank you 🙏👍
Stayed at premier inn Birmingham just before Christmas. The breakfast £9.99 and was totally spot on. 10 outta 10. Bacon looked a lot better than you had i gotta say. Cooked perfect with griddle marks. No complaints... certainly for the price. Thanks Gary

Excellent to hear 👍
For £24 I wouldn’t expect anything to be bad! Bacon definitely dried up, that’s one big problem with buffets isn’t it, stuff does dry up if left out for too long under the lamps, I suppose you just leave off the bacon and have more of other foods, I would ! We’ve had premier inn brekki’s before and for the price they are pretty good and you do get a good selection of other items, I love a danish then onto main event 😂. Hi Gary,
Thanks for another great review.
About plate size and portion size.
Down here in Australia I am finding some places are reducing the size of plates even coffee cups but charging more.
I was in a bakery yesterdsy where I haven't been for over 12 months. There pie size has decreased but again price has gone up.
Like you say, not a problem at all you can eat
Interesting to see what others say about this.

Well done. 👍
Cheers 🍻 Phillip thank you 😊
Just looking back Gary😂. Never noticed at the time but you spelled my name wrong. There’s only one L in the Irish way of spelling Philip 👍
Getting good bacon from a buffet style brekkie is a bit of a holy grail, i always seem to get it with really crispy hard or cold!
Same as me then 👍
We stayed at the Premier Inn at Lewes in East Sussex around Christmas and I have to admit that it certainly rated as one of the better breakfasts I've had in a hotel.
That’s really great to hear I’m pleased you enjoyed 😊
I'm not keen on the 'taking an order' aspect. I only have four items - bacon sausage egg and beans. I'd prefer a second batch.
I don't feel comfortable asking for 6 sausages (they're small!). And the beans come in small ramekins so really you need 3
Hi Gary
Very interesting review today on the breakfast buffet.
Wow Tony that must have been a few years ago 😳
It was Gary and the good thing at that time by ordering breakfast it was served in first class. Did the whole journey from Nottingham to Lo don that way as they kept topping up the coffee. Amazingly it was a brilliant breakfast for a train!@@GaryEats
From experience, buffets only work if there is a constant flow of folks , this one seemed very quiet
The filming didn’t show either place well but they were busy 👍
For a tenner you really can't go far wrong with a Premier Inn breakfast.
As you say with tea/coffee, juice, toast etc included its very good value for average quality food.
Not the best quality but far from the worst either.
Another fair and well balanced review from you 👍
Not this wld happen of course, but I think a Microwave should be made available because imo Buffets Grub, usually suffers with the chill effect! But this doesn't look to bad, fairly decent food& selection!
Premier Inn great value 👌. I'm looking forward to you coming to Ireland, I'm interested to see how the standard compares to England 👍🇮🇪
Both looked great so no brainer - the cheaper breakfast wins 👍
I have a guilty secret (I am sure others have done!): when very hundover, I can drink a litre of orange juice in one sitting, that is before the breakfast is even ready (and/or before I can even face cooking it). I do like black pudding, and white if it is available, on my breakfast. But the back bacon, sausages, eggs and mushrooms (sorry!) and a fried slice are all welcome components of a "real breakfast", with lots of toast if I can stomach it! I usually wash that down with good, strong tea (coffee later, maybe)
Well done Tim 🥃🥃🥃🥃
The main thing I judge hotels by is the quality of the breakfast! Having travelled around the world all of my adult life and stayed in 5-star hotels for the most part, I adore filling my plate with good sausages!! Ironically when I do return to the UK I crave cheap Richmond sausages!!!
Lol Richmond are good for a roll but you need real quality sausage for a proper breakfast imo 😊
Wow now that is super value definitely 👍

Hi Janet on comparison videos I don’t normally do a score, what would you have given as marks, me 6.5 for Shakedown and 8 for Premier Inn 👍

This is such good value especially as you can eat as much and exactly what you want and thank you for watching and commenting
(it's gone all quiet in the back!😂)
😳
I may do it in the future not sure it will be easy to film 🎥 but as always I’ll give it a go 😂
@@GaryEats Thanks Gary.
Good point! But they did both give me that option 👍
Closing in on those 50K subs! By years end you will be getting that silver play button.
That would be a dream but thank you 😊
Premier Inn breakfasts are a good deal, especially at the busier hotels, but the quieter ones have a slower turn-around so food is left out longer. But even then, if you time it right they're very good for the money.
Fully agree Walter very good value for money 💰
As always Robert perfect comment thank you, for the value Premier Inn wins this one but supporting local business wins every time 👍
Hi Gary

What really struck me was that, because there was so much construction in the area at the time, all the Trade guys ate there.

Anyway, when I do have breaky working away, I always have the fruit / yogurt (etc) to start - probably because it is available, rather than because I want it! / Mmmm -well the Premier Inn breaky does not look half that bad. / I agree with you - I do not think you can fault the premier inn breaky on value grounds. mark.
I’m exactly the same Mark, too much fry up makes it a struggle for the day for me 👍
Great review Gary. Yes I would go for Premier inn any day . I can’t imagine my wife and me paying nearly £50 -00 for two breakfasts. Cafe prices have shot up in the last couple of years but premier inn are still good value . 👍
Fully agree Jim a bit surprised myself as how good the value was at the Premier Inn 👍
Sounds great Phil but also sounds very expensive?
I still think the Travel Lodge at Euston provides one of the best for value and pretty good quality. I was there a few weeks ago and it was under £11 for an all you can eat and included hot and cold drinks. Absolutely loads of choice for hot or cold breakfast. I always have a full English when out and they served good Cumberland sausages (no herbs, fortunately), back bacon, hash browns etc. The scrambled egg was a good colour and firm and all told, I could not fault it. Had breakfast there two days running and it was well worth it.
Nice one I’m pleased you enjoyed 👍
Again, a fair review and I can't fault your reasoning. For my part, I've stayed in Premier Inns around the UK for years and I absolutely love their breakfasts. I always go for the black pudding and I mark down any establishment that doesn't offer this delicacy. I wouldn't want to pay £24 for a bog standard 'full English'.
The disappearance of black pudding from breakfast menus is an outrage. I refuse to order if it's not on offer.
Here here!@@Mat-eq8mk
It was on the menu at the Premier Inn but not available, I need to go back just for black pudding an outrage 😂😂

Thank you Trudy, the toasting machine definitely needs work in both 👍
The premier Inn was surprisingly good 👍🏾 and real value too.
I can understand it’s not easy to keep bacon hot without it drying out or boiling in condensation.
Scrambled eggs are anther tricky one so top marks to both for that 👍🏾
It certainly was and the eggs at both was really surprisingly good 👍
Thanks Gary good video again. As a retired chef who has cooked thousands of breakfasts, I always say the sausage is the main event on the breakfast plate. If the sausage is good it makes the whole breakfast. The sausages were better quality at the first place. Generally the whole buffet presentation was much better. Glad you enjoyed both.
Thank you Alan as a retired chef you would definitely know 👍
Couldn't agree more.
Looks like an IHG cumberland sausage.
I dunno. I do love a good
Hash brown 🤣. But yeah a good Cumberland is definitely lovely
Come to think about it, you are right. The sausage can make or break a breakfast.
A very interesting comparison, Gary. I do love to see both ends of the spectrum be reviewed, honestly. You know what? I see this same outcome in other areas than just the food industry. Thank you.
Great point!
Not muchroom on the plate hey Gary! mushrooms a no no for us as well :) xx
Thank goodness someone else lol 😂
That premier Inn gets the thumbs up from me, all looked good quality, choice of food and freshly made - a make or break with that type of buffet breakfast. Great value all you can eat too has to be a major bonus :) Personally i'd never spend £25 on a buffet breakfast and would expect perfection for that price.
I fully agree Matthew excellent value for your money 💰👍
You need to go full Partridge, Gary. take your own plate with you. 😅
😂😂😂
Another fair review, Gary. I totally agree with you that the Premier Inn breakfast wins hands down. I think £24 is pretty pricey for a breakfast wherever you are. Keep up with the good work!
Totally agree. Thanks Fiona 😄
I enjoyed this new video, Gary.
I thought thev first breakfast looked better all-round, but did it warrant such a steep price increase? I dont think so.
The second , Premier Inn breakfast was a good, solid breakfast but also seemed very good value.
The Premier Inn was very good value 👍
Both breakfasts did look very good especially for a buffet style. I've had worse with table service. I totally agree with your comments about the price difference not being wholly justified. Going on appearance alone the sausages and toast did look more appetising at the Premier Inn. At the first place they looked as if they had been cooked in a warm breeze. Just my personal taste.
I totally agree Marlyn!
Love your videos/reviews. The food in both would not tempt me, I'd rather go to my local cafe where you order your breakfast - you get less, but it is good quality, local butchers make the sausages and the eggs are free range AND you get fried bread. Tea is tea leaves in a pot!
I can’t disagree 👍
In a bag actually.
I sometimes have a crooked breakfast out and it's usually around a tenner, but not as much as you can eat and tea is extra, great value at the premier and looks pretty good quality, plus you can have cereal to start 9 out of 10
I could not believe how it was such great value for money 💰 Robin 👍
I always find the scrambled eggs to be the coldest component of any hotel breakfast, surprised both of yours were hot. I didn't realise you could pay as an outside guest for a Premier Inn breakfast.
I didn’t until recently either Simon, my scrambled eggs at both were fine 👍
Premier inn is good quality and value for a penny shy of a tenner. I recently went in my local Wetherspoons where drinks are extra, so is black pudding. And that brekkie was close to a tenner but i find the general quality of the ingredients is lower nowadays and it's hit and miss whether they bring your food hot tepid or cold.
Buffets tend to be a hit and miss 👍
You need Alan Partridge's big plate
Definitely 😂😂😂
@@GaryEats Got your big plate, Gary?
Great review again Gary - You cut sausage at a 45° angle so clearly know your stuff. I've unfortunately had more Hotel Breakfasts than I've had at home due to my work. You could do a whole season on this for me - Bacon in a Bain Marie + about 10 minutes = Shoe leather. Your summary was spot on. Thanks Gary 🤓
I really appreciated your comment because you are the expert when it comes to this review 👍👍👍
I fully agree but I did have HP sauce on both breakfasts maybe it wasn’t clear on the camera 👍👍
4:30 might want to go to Specsavers mate :-)
@@rundattmedia2106 You're quite right, apologies, there was evidence of brown sauce on the plate. Evidently missed it. Thank you for pointing this out.👍. PS I'm overdue for an optician appointment😂😂😂
@@paulclark2947I am too to be honest, nearly 40 now and my eyesight is significantly worse than it was ten years ago 😂
I cannot get my head around the toaster as your right either burnt or not toasted 👍
Very interesting! More was on offer at the Shakedown, of course, but the Premier Inn was truly value for money. Thank you for showing us.
Your welcome Sylvia thank you 😊
Good idea for a review, Gary 👍🏼
Reversing lorries seem to be a theme now! 😄
Think you hit the nail on the head with this one, Premier Inn if you want an all you can eat traditional style fry up at a good price and only got to Shakedown if you want salmon and other bits and pieces.
Looking forward to the next review 👍🏼
They are following me around Warren, a new career I’m thinking 🤔
@@GaryEats
Well there's really only one way to find out! Let's give it a go! 😄
Now that was funny 😂😂😂😂
@@GaryEats
I have my moments 😂
I was actually surprised at how good value for money it was in the Premier Inn. Think I would have a hearty breakfast, but also get enough sausages to make myself a sausage sandwich for later on.
So was I surprised Jim, I didn’t realise that you can just walk in 👍
Retired now, but in my past, I travelled all over the world, but when I was in England, I always chose Premier Inn because they always had a good pub attached to them and the quality was always excellent value for money and the breakfast was excellent.
Value for Money wise , I always chose Premier Inn.
Yep. Very good value 👍🏼
Looks nice breakfast at Premier Inn. Good to know as staying at one soon, thanks Gary 😊
Excellent value for money Dawn 👍
I’ve never been a fan of buffets of any kind but I don’t have a problem with it if I can get the eggs cooked fresh, and in high end establishments an option for eggs Benedict etc. My nightmares take me back to the buffets of the 3 star hotels in Spain in the 90s! Luckily things have moved forwards.
Having worked in Spain a few years ago I can confirm the breakfast is in my opinion at the hotels I stayed ….. not good 😳
£24 is well expensive for a buffet breakfast.
It is but it was a little classy 😊
London prices. 😊
Actually it was too expensive 👍
great comparison, I would choose Premier Inn every time. Just choose what looks best and have lots.
Good call Michael 👍
Hash Browns are a cheap 'nasty breakfast filler. They're American derived and have no place in a proper British breakfast. You need some proper Black Pudding on that plate.
Can’t disagree and some bubble and squeak lol 😂
You're on the money! Shakedown may be a slightly better breakfast in terms of the wider ingredients on offer but people go for staple breakfast items at breakfast as you pointed out. Its less about the experience for breakfast as well, people get excited about the experience for lunch or dinner. On that basis its not worth 2 and a half times more than the premier inn. Nice one Gary.
Excellent comment and totally correct 👍
Both breakfasts looked nice, l don't mind my bacon a bit dry to be honest but the value for money Premier Inn is hard to beat. l have stayed at a few Premier Inns and they have all been very good
Good call Mark fully agree 👍
Hi Gary I have allways found that the Premier Inn breakfast to be very good value for money at at all you can eat venue you wont beat it. Like you said the selection of teas are always good.
It was excellent value and plenty of options for £9.99 👍
