I'll be making more talks and videos regarding this style in the future if this videos is well received. I hope you enjoy it! ♥ If you would like to put this to practice with a guide on drawing monsters, I made a fun dark video for you ruclips.net/video/yub86vf1wmE/видео.html
I remember you drawing on stream and watching your technique just amazed me, it was unlike anything i had seen tbh, and it intreged me, thank you for your work and your inspiration!
three months late, but I'm one of those first timers being introduced to "looking at clouds and dust". Been using and researching AI for my masters and I can confirm your workflow is as efficient as it gets. Image generating AI's use the cloud/dust refining method for speed, efficiency and coherence, well done mate.
That's super kind! But I'm pretty set on trying to make as many lectures and tutorials as free as possible, so no need to worry about buying anything :)
So glad you asked! You're very lucky you commented under a video that mentions and links a video where I explain EXACTLY that in this video's description, because if you didn't you might never have seen it!
I'm so beyond excited to try this. I find your grit style to be just so fun! I've been working on my art for years and honestly.. haven't been enjoying it. As I'm learning with a goal in mind and not exactly doing it for fun, despite that being how it started. It dwindled and turned more into constant practice and work rather than something I enjoy to do. This grit style though is sooooo fun and satisfying! And not to mention quick af compared to the webtoon/comic style I've been trying to morph my art into. This also is such an amazing way to get the monsters in my head out on paper so much quicker. I've been using too many values in my attempt of what I thought you'd been doing, and that was the only hard part because I SUCK with values and colors 🤦♀️🤣🤷♀️ So yeah, beyond excited as the color and erase is much more down my alley and I already find your way of making art to be extremely gratifying. So ohmylord sorry for the rant but this explains so many problems I was having knowing it's one value, partially smudged with a under highlight. I was using a brush that like.. blended as you picked the values up and whatnot. That was why it didn't look right 🤣 I'm all using a hundred different values hahaha ohmy 🤦♀️ I'm sad it was a quick video, but honestly grateful as I've been so busy lately I barely have time to even sit down. So bless you and thank you Almighty Gammatrap! You have taught me yet another new thing that I'm beyond excited to try! ALL HAIL THE ALMIGHTY GAMMATRAP 🙇♀️🙇🙇♂️ Okay sorry I'm done now, have a wonderful day and thank you again, seriously! 🙏
ive been feeling not satisfied in regular digital drawing with line art and what not, there is something about it that both makes me slow and is just not as fun as i feel it could be, ill be giving this a shot once im done with my commision, thank you for this, ive been looking for a way to remodel how i do my art
Love your materials list for ice and stone and plants. And all your other videos . I learned a lot from them as a beginner artist learning to paint different materials. Please make a list for water. I find water to be challenging to paint. 😊❤
As an artist who works heavily with linework I decided to stare at clouds today for my warmup and it was an interesting experiment! I'm going to keep doing it and see if it evolves into anything for me
I LITERALLY just asked SamDoesArts for a similar tutorial (but sadly got no response 😢) like- 3 days ago and all of a sudden BOOM! Your vid pops up! Tbh I even forgot I was subscribed to your channel (idk how tho, your channel has LITERALLY everything I’ve ever wanted to learn how to draw!) Like seriously, you’re honestly a hero! Your vids are super easy to understand but not to mention FREE!? You’re the holy grail of digital art tutorials! I genuinely can’t thank you enough for all your hardwork!!!💙💙💙 thank you thank you thaaaaaaaaank you for all your help!!! ^.^💙💙💙💙💙 Edit: also also, hate to ask; but what setting do you use for your Old Beach brush?
I'm always glad to be of help! And I just normally keep the procreate brushes as-is honestly. Usually when painting in procreate I make sure my brush and eraser are the same to maximize the texture, so hopefully that helps!
You just spoke to my soul... I think I realized, right now, this is how art makes sense to me and I've spent a lifetime trying to make it work with line art... I've only been drawing 40 some years... so... slow learner... fuuuuck this is cool! Edit: Do you use the same eraser texture as your brush? I'm relatively new to digital (from traditional) currently using/learning clip studio. I've used low opacity erase for some effects but I'm always kind of guessing on the erase 'brush'
@@Gammatrap I've been playing with this technique all day, and I've made... things. You're fucking awesome. Thank you for this. (And note to anyone reading, you can be a long time artist and even a pro and still learn awesome tricks. )
very good looking and quite easy to use technique. I think i will experiment with my artstyle and your drawing technique to see where it will go (and i have good art idea of gojo satoru that i can draw mixing both of them). Thx for that video very much
So honest question about this artstyle, is it possible to create this kind of artstyle in photoshop alone or is procreate absolutely needed for this type of artwork?
ive got a real big problem with the erasing thing, and that is that im never able to erase properly at say sharp edges, unless i reduce the brush size a lot. and doing that repeatedly obviously wastes a lot of time so how exactly do you get such clean shapes by the end
you paint alot without lineart, ive been wanting to practice drawing like this and learn some more about it what would I search for? how to paint without lines or paint with contrast?
I watched it and it was great. Would you recommend someone that's a beginner to hop into one or the other? The art I want to make is more like your charcoal necromancers and what not, rather than clean line art but should I focus on painting at first or would you say thats something more advanced and just to stick with the basics? sorry for all the questions@@Gammatrap

I need to make this brush in Photoshop, lol. Brilliant video and seemingly "easy" when you really apply the concept😅
DANG it's good to see a new vid! I haven't even watched it yet and I'm stoked!
Definitely an interesting technique, thanks for the video!

Does anyone know how to achieve this with Ibis X Paint? Specifically what kind of brush can I find for Ibix X Paint that can replicate this?
Well, now you have to make a tutorial on the other one, right? RIGHT?
"the other one"? As in the other style on the poll? Almost all of my tutorials are based in that style.
