This song he's singing as an example was co-written by Perry-Cain-Schon and recorded by them , and a hit before anyone knew Arnel . He does a fantastic job .. but he did not make these songs with the band . This is why even he did not take the spotlight when Perry was on stage at the HOF awards . He has class and knows these songs belong to Perry , Schon , Cain , Rollie .

I have never seen them in concert, and it’s too hard for me to get around anymore. But I love their music regardless of who their lead singer is. I close my eyes and I can’t tell the difference.

Very cool close footage. Love this extended live version. Although nobody will ever be able to truly replace Steve Perry, Arnel Pineda is the closest to the real deal. You can feel his great passion as well.

Arnel’s voice is absolutely amazing they couldn’t have found anyone better to replace Steve! He’s got the voice, stage presence and a great looking guy he’s in his 50’s and looks like he’s 25. Not many singers in their 50’s that can sing half as good as Arnel.
What a superb performance by Arnel Pineda and the band. Arnel Pineda gave Journey this badass rock persona. Definitely he is the best vocalist and frontman of the rock band Journey!

As a 80's baby, I have to say, Steve Perry has my heart. He is unmatched, a living legend. I contributed a great deal to Journey'ss success, BUT having Arnel Pineda around, he gave life, and ignited energy and fire to Journey's band whose popularity was floundering when SP left!.. To be sure, I saw him at the venue in 2022 in Tampa, Florida, and he gave an EPIC performance at the time that social media was saying that AP was having vocal problems.. The guy is doing LIVE Concerts on TOUR, even popular rock stars like B Springsteen, Rod Stewart, and S Tyler got those feelings under the weather on Tour, BUT the show must go on, and those guys admitted that. Some bashers were still there who cannot move on!! **I just saw at the venue a Journey Concert in Canada, in Quebec CityMarch 2023) all sold out tickets of 19,000 and AP performed incredibly well!!. It was another EPIC performance!!!! With what is doing on with Journey band feuds, and if they are including their nonsense line about what Neal's wife is putting on line upsets Arnel, if AP got burnout because of his strenuous Touring, plus that toxic environment, it would not be AP fault if he gets burn out! The gut is a golden goose of Journey, to replace him after more than 15 years is suicide for the band. --AP is the longest-tenured frontman of Journey!! You should take a chance to see a LIVE Concert in person, in case AP decides to rest or retire for good. I hope not as I would like to see his Live performance again!!!
Close your eyes and it’s hard to tell it’s not Steve. A true rags to riches study for Arnel, from homeless to rockstar and frontman for Journey. A true legendary vocalist. Steve couldn’t hit these notes anymore with the precision that Arnel does and Arnel is 20 years younger. It’s a shame it sounds like he’s going to be leaving the band after 15/16 years, but Deen and Jason have proven they can sing a lot of these songs very well too. So much respect for Arnel. 👊👊

We duh, it hasn’t been Steve fronting this band for a couple decades at least. So yeah, he doesn’t sound like Steve. Good thing too, because Steve is 73 and doesn’t have it vocally anymore. This song now has an extended ending that was made for Arnel’s voice.
If you will just be open-minded, you'll realize how great of a singer Arnel is. His range makes him like a chameleon. He can practically sing almost all genres. Oh well, bashers will always be just bashers.

If you will just be open-minded, you'll realize how great of a singer Arnel is. His range makes him like a chameleon. He can practically sing almost all genres. Oh well, bashers will always be just bashers.
