Oil doesn’t moisturize your hair it seals in moisture and with u applying oil to it ur making ur hair more hydrophobic. When your hair is wet you should use a water based leave in conditioner
When your hair is on the longer side, getting small trims can help make it easier for your hair to detangler. But you should also try using a wide tooth comb. Along with product.
