it's always there. even with my new type 4 engine. helps with the wheel hop especially in the rain. but i don't ever do burnouts in this car, she's my baby, and it's not built for that.

is your engine standard or running on double carbs and bore up engine?. i wanted to make my phat boy exhaust (when i buy it eventually) sounds like yours
This engine is running dual 40 Dellorto DRLA's with a 1641cc displacement - I've learned that the dual carbs have a big impact on engine sound. The carbs give a throaty sound of "guzzling" air.
Luke Pyfrom if I understand your question correctly.. you don’t have to modify the body to run either of those types of exhausts.. if I misunderstood your question let me know
Luke Pyfrom the merged header is supposed to provide better performance because, as you can see in the video, the point where the four pipes merge is longer and less abrupt. It does put the exhaust a little farther back though
super71beetle okay thanks a lot yes I have a 1600 and I think I’m just going to go with the low header put a j pipe exhaust pipe and run a small muffler
EMPI.. and it actually didn't fit out of the box. the triangle flange was welded a few degrees off and it didn't line up with the header because i couldn't rotate it up enough without hitting the right rear fender. I made the holes oval until it fit.
it's on in the video, you can see it.. i don't know why it wouldn't clear.. maybe move the traction bar towards the front of the car? gotta see what you're talking about to really know what going on

if i wasn't worried about the police potentially pulling me over for the exhaust being too loud, i'd probably run with the stinger, but I used the phat boy. i swear it gave me a little more bottom end grunt too. They're both loud, but the stinger is racecar loud.. they're just straight pipes after all ^_^

where does your traction bar mount to on the motor? Mine i made it so it mounts under the oil pump.

mine makes contact with the engine in the center of the engine, but forward of the oil pump, not on the pump itself.
