- Om this VERY special episode of Led Zeppelin Fan REACTS to Greta Van Fleet we embark on a journey through 'From the Fires'... This time, the ENTIRE ALBUM PLAYTHROUGH!!! I point out many of my favorite elements and describe parts of the process in which MANY of my lesser favorite tracks have grown on me considerably!!!
What a fantastic album. Such a STRONG start for Greta Van Fleet. I am VERY happy for them. They are surely reigniting a LONG LOST element of music in modern times... Pure, Raw, Visceral, Unadulterated, Passionate... Rock 'N Roll ENERGY!!! This album makes me FEEL ALIVE!!!
Thank you for sharing this journey with me. Thank you ALL for the comments, likes, subs, and most of all thank you for sharing YOUR love of Greta Van Fleet with ME!!!
I'm hooked... FOR LIFE!!!!
I hadn’t heard you mention it so just incase you hadn’t known … this album won the Grammy for Best Rock Album in 2018!
I was not aware of that. Not surprised!!!
I didn't know that!! awesome!
Funny you should mention Janice. I've always joked that if you combined Robert Plant's, Geddy Lee's and Janice Joplin's DNA, you'd end up with Josh Kiszka.
He has said he loves her voice and will often warm up to her songs
A little Freddy mercury in there in songs like heat above
@@clareeeeee1 for sure!
Your were starting to piss me off in in the beginning but I’m glad I stuck around to see you transport into a admirer. I often wish the haters had more of an open mind like you did. So glad you see what the rest of us see. Enjoy, enjoy ENJOY!
Ha! Thanks! I appreciate the honesty. Yeah, my very first reaction I went into biased. Zeppelin is sacred ground to me. My initial feelings were based on pure hearsay. Then, I heard for myself. And though they have much Zeppelin influence they are a band all of their own. It has been a joy to hear their music. I haven’t heard a new band that I’ve enjoyed like this in a LONG time. Thanks for your support!!
It's interesting to watch you gradually changing your initial opinion. Been there...
At first, I called them "Dupe Zeppelin", even thought I somehow just couldn't stop listening. And it went from "this is pretty good" to "this is actually really great"...to "holy sh*t" after watching Red Rocks...
Yes Red Rocks is spectacular!
The Red Rocks show is legendary! ❤
There’s a surprise in the works for Red Rocks. It’s been revealed in my comments. If ya wanna dig for it… 😉
Red Rocks is epic!
@@shotgunndunn Yeah, I noticed. :)
I liked your comment about the Flower Power outro. Live versions are not so serene (including Red Rocks). 😁
Just think, that singing was not Josh's first career choice.
So happy to see this video. The Peaceful Army welcomes you, good sir. (And Mike too, it would seem 🤔😂)
Dude I’ve been watching your Greta reactions from the start, and it’s awesome to see another GVF fan learn about their music. They’re incredible!
Thanks, man! That’s why I thought it would be cool to recap the entire album. Since my perspective and context had grown so much. It’s been a wonderful journey! Thanks for your support!!!
The GVF rabbit hole is insidious (it's a very welcoming place, though). 🕊️
Saw this guy go from questioning greta van fleet to actuallt enjoying their music, nothing makes me more happy

Enjoyed this review style of video after the fact. I like that you sat in each song first and treated as an individual. 2 more albums and then they have a new one dropping in July. Plenty of people diving back in so it’s a hot time for GVF reactions.
Thanks man! I agree! The best time to become a fan and also to start reacting. A new album and your right around the corner!! Thanks for your support!!
I'm Glad I hung around because that's what the roots of Greta. You will see that each album shows their sound had improved . I enjoyed watching you go from almost hater to a real fan. I've seen these guys 5 times and each concert was amazing because they would change up what they would play. I found that in concert they might add a new wrinkle in they way the song went. Then you find out that it's part of a new song they are working on. Keep your videos rolling my friend.
Love the wrap up! Can’t wait for you to go through the follow up…The Anthem of a Peaceful Army album which is considered their first “full” album.
I started it today I got through the first four tracks!! Whoa boy!! I’m diggin’ it so far!!! Stay tuned for the same style track by track reactions!!
@@shotgunndunn Whoo-hoo! Can't wait! 🕊️
Their work is very thematic. You'll hear phrasing echoed in other songs and sometimes they put throwback stuff in live performances.
Authentically Retro!! Perfect description! ❤️They do what they want.

This was so unexpected, but such a great idea! Thank you for going back and doing this, I’m in heaven, hehehehe! And yes, the lyric, “We are the morning birds that sing against the sky,” is the twins being born in the morning ☺️
Oh, and I see your subscriptions going up…😁
Me and 11 friends going to GVF August 5th in Portland! Had tickets for Sacramento, but got rescheduled due to Josh broken eardrum! I’m a huge GVF fan! Welcome to the Peaceful Army!
That’s awesome!! Thank you for your comment. Please like, subscribe, and not the notifications bell if you haven’t already!
Their first release was actually just a 4 song LP [Black Smoke Rising] with Highway Tune, Safari Song, Flower Power, and Black Smoke Rising. When that was successful and the record label wanted them to release an Extended LP [From the Fires] they had Edge of Darkness and Talk on the Street to add, but they said they decided to record the covers of A Change is Gonna Come and Meet on the Ledge in order to fill in the LP with more of a "folk" sound.
This is the thing with GVF, you have to let them sit and stew with you after multiple listens. There were many songs I wasn’t to hot on the start, but the eventually grew to my favorites. I can’t wait for you to react to The Battle at Garden’s Gate, which to me is probably the best album of the last 25 years. It is a modern day masterpiece, the modern day Dark Side of the Moon in my opinion
Would you please review the whole Anthem of the Peaceful Army someday? If you have time?
Its the album after this.
Part one will be uploaded tomorrow. Thanks!
I'm so glad Black Smoke Rising grew on you, my favorite from the album!
You should check out my drum cover of Black Smoke Rising. I’ve only been playing for about a year. It’s not too terrible. I had fun!!
Greta van fleet broken bells reaction plz
Meet on the Ledge is a cover. Not their song
Hi David!
love this album!!! especially Edge of Darkness 💥💖✨
💯 Josh’s vocals on edge of darkness are probably my favorite!
@@shotgunndunn mine too!! I am a huge Zeppelin fan from way back as well!!!
