Lola, you made a disclaimer that your sauce is not a traditional, authentic Italian pasta sauce. You're being much too modest. Your recipe is akin to a traditional, authentic Italian pasta sauce, and it's very good.
She had to add the disclaimer before the Italians come in here saying “this is not how we make” etc…!!! As with every pasta recipe. Don’t believe me just search 😂
My wife, who went to heaven 3 years ago, made a sauce pretty well identical to yours. Whenever she made it, I'll have 3 servings of spaghetti the size of what you served. She had to stop me from eating too much. She only put more mushroom in it, fresh or canned, it's just as good. You made me miss my dear wife more now and also the spaghetti sauce, in restaurants those are NOT spaghetti sauce compared to yours.
I also added mushrooms, tried to get as many vegs in my kids as I could. Kids are all grown up, haven't made it in a while. It was a cheap & delicious meal.
I know this video is a year old. But I used this recipe because I wanted a fresh delicious pasta sauce, and I’m never going back! I used your exact same recipe and added sausage and spices to make it hot. Best spaghetti I’ve ever made, and now I am here again getting the recipe about to make another pot❤❤❤
Chef Lola, thank you so much for your spaghetti sauce recipe. It is without a doubt better than much of what is sold commercially in many of our local stores. It’s actually even tastier than some of the sauces I’ve tasted at certain restaurants. Thank you again!🙏
I have been making this dish for years. I just made it up as I went. I didn't know that it was an actual recipe. Thank you for this video. I'll bet that your home has a fine aroma!
I made this last night for dinner and absolutely loved it. I used extra cayenne for a kick and dried parsley but it still turned out great!! Thank you God bless!
I love homemade sauces. It’s always interesting and inspiring to see how others make their sauce. I use my Sicilian grandfathers sauce recipe but I like to try others. Looks delish!
I made it for my family the other day and they loved it! They could totally tell the sauce was homemade. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe. ♥️♥️♥️
I just made it exactly how you did it, and my husband and I love all your recipes. So so good and oh by the way, I also made the goat pepper you made in the past. Thank you😊🥰🥰🥰
I have a family recipe that goes back to my elementary school in the fifties. I just made it last week and we all love it. It has no herbs but it does have chili powder along with the usual cast of characters.
Thank you Lola. I made it today with minor alterations, such as adding ginger to sauté and ginger powder to meat. Other than ginger, i followed your recipe exactly as per directions given by you. Your recipe is FANTASTIC. i served over rice. Oh man sooooo good.. thank you.
I Tried this for dinner tonight! OMG so good!! Cayenne added a little kick to the spaghetti. I added fresh mushrooms to mines and didn’t add the water because the tomato sauce was a good enough liquid alone. Thank you for sharing your amazing recipe!! 😍😍
Thank you Chef Lola, my family wanted spaghetti and I didn't have any sauce. your sauce was easy to make and tastes absolutely wonderful! Thank you again
That's close to how I make mine. I add the cooked spaghetti to the pan of sauce so every bit of spaghetti gets coated with that wonderful sauce!!!! MMMMM good!!!
Hurricane Ian is getting ready to make landfall and here I am this morning stirring a pot of your Best Spaghetti Sauce recipe for latter today. Very tasty, will save this in favorites for the next time.
I made this pasta and oh my god! It was soooo good! I’m back on the video to write the recipe cause I am going to make it again. Thank you so much for sharing with us :)
I can smell the sauce. I'm Italian and that's pretty much how I do my sauce. Sometimes I will add some raw ribs, or chicken legs into my sauce and simmer on low for over 3 hrs. Tastes amazing. You should try it out sometime.
I'm so glad I found this recipe. I just made this for dinner and it was so good. I've never really been able to make a good spaghetti until now. Thank you
Thank you so much. I never make my own spaghetti sauce but I had to tonight because I had no Prego 🤣 and I’m actually kind of glad because I followed your recipe and my sauce came out amazing thank you so much ❤️
Making this right now only adding more veggies mushrooms and tomatoes. Thanks so mush I didn’t know think about added it to quinoa! Edit seasoning is perfect yum
@@vwilliams954 I've used both Heinz and Hunt's at this point and they were both really delicious! I think I prefer the Hunt's sauce. The tomatoes were grown on Canadian farms and I'm from Canada. Nice to support local.
I have been making this recipe for over 30 years same ingredients my family and friends Just Love it a little extra I use also tomato paste for thickness
Can't cook without tomato paste! Lola's ingredient list calls for "pureed tomato sauce". Tomato Puree is thicker than Tomato Sauce. With the additional water, I would start out with the Puree and then adjust the consistency with water or broth as necessary, but of course would add a tablespoon or two of paste to get that rich color and aroma.
So I just made this tonight for my baby daddy who claims I don’t cook…it was 💣🙌🏾🔥😋❤️💯 Everybody loved it, this will be the way I make spaghetti from now on, thank you!❤️🍝💯🔥
A tip… put your water into the tomato sauce can and swish it around, to get all the tomato sauce out of the can! Also, I make spaghetti pretty much the same way, except I put a different mixture of spices. Oregano, red pepper flakes, basil, nutmeg, parsley and a bay leaf. And I’m 1/2 Italian!

Used chicken broth instead of water and I love tomato paste so added a lil as well. Came out delish!
That's a great tip to add extra flavor. I like to use the better than bouillon to make my own broth because it tastes better.
Yeah I would add some tomato paste also.
