Thanks you for demonstrating your water bladder set up. We’ve has one of these water bladders for the past eight years, we’ve also found it to be great for getting water and taking it back to the caravan. Ours is set up a bit different, the inlet hose that come with the bladder is now connected to the air relief so the it can let the air out as it fills and the valve is closed when the bladder is full, I have a ball valve fitted to the inlet hose so you turn it off the stop the over filling of the water bladder when you fill it by yourself. The pump we use is a surflo water pump which pumps out 17 litres per minute and I have installed an on off switch to it.
Ah thats a good idea! Thank you. We hse the surflonon the van so when i get the opportunity il buy one, then it will be handy as a spare aswell if we ever have an issue. Thanks for the tips
I added another suction point to my van pump. I use that to suck out of any water source and run a short hose from the tap on the drawbar back to the tank filler.
Yup totally agree. We’ve had our bladder a few years now and as you say it’s a game changer. We occasionally run with it full in the car if a water point is a bit far to go mainly to save fuel, the old 1HZ can be thirsty 😊. The beauty of having it on the floor is it’s central in the vehicle and low down, yes it’s 100kg added to gvm but we’ve allowed for that with the gvm upgrade. If you haven’t got a bladder seriously consider one as they take up almost no space when empty as opposed to jerry cans and they are so much more convenient to fill/empty. Just my 1.5cents worth.
100% agree with you, wish i bought one a long time ago and the weight centrsl is the big reason i chose the footwell one. I would be touch and go with GVM if i had this full as well as having van on thr back, im getting reweighed soon so will know how much im working with soon enough
Have the same brand, had one custom made to fit in my disco. 350l mine :) fill all the tanks and everyone gets a shower with the left over. Great to support an Aussie family company. I got an ozito pressure 12v pump from bunnings cheap around $80 and put hose connectors on it. Pumps around 60l min. Won't push in over my vans one way valve on the normal water input but I put taps on the drain plugs on the tanks with hose connectors so just fill from bladder into drain tap on tanks. Great vid Mark, game changer
Just checked its called ozito 12v portable pressure pump. $129 rated at 600l per hour, but I have found when I was pumping boxed water in by cutting the boxes and dumping them into a bucket the pump pickup hose was in, as quick as I could get the bladder out of the cardboard and slash a hole it the pump had emptied the previous 10l. Grabbed myself a cheap plastic tool box and mounted it inside, handy for storing the connectors, cable and bits with it. Cheers id be surprised if your 100l was not pumped in in around 5 mins. Originally I purchased a drill pump and that proved to be a total waste of time. The ozito self primes and will pump strong enough to feel just like you normal water pump in the van, also has an inbuilt pressure switch so if you say put a tap on the end of the host it pressures the hose then stops until the tap is again turned on, just like the pumps in your van.
@@Ourwhittleadventure cool as hope.it helps. Last time I pumped in 260l I don't remember it taking long, as in around the 10 to 15 min mark. Have fun buddy cheers
Ahh the other cool thing is it vacuum packs the bladder as it sucks it completely empty. Just close the tap on the bladder before disconnecting and the bladder stays like the vacuum clothes storage bags.
I bought one after seeing your recent episode where you said you had one, we are yet to use it tho! Thanks for the little tips re extra hose connectors etc 😁
That's a great idea. We have two 25L water containers set up in canopy of the ute and gravity feed that into the water tanks. But I'm thinking one of these will be great when we're staying in one place for an extended time. Thanks Mark. 😊
Yeh we drink it which is why i filter it in and out. Not sure ive had it long enough to really give perspective on storing it. My theory is keep it closed, and use it somewhat regularly with a flush out before each use and it shouldn’t be any different to the tanks of the van anyway. The foodgrade plastic shouldn’t allow bacteria to grow hopefully
@priscillacatania8275 yeh it is good, though we still only live on 200-300L of water a week. So not even using what a general household would use in a day

Ah thats a good idea, i was trying to think of something similar but that would definitely work!

Ooh i like that ozito pump idea, 60l a minute is awesome!
I might look into that as well thanks buddy!

That bladder is awesome.
Made a world of difference to our stay there!

Your welcome! The 2 water contsiners gravity feeding is still a good option but i love this thing, wish i bought one sooner
Looks great!
Cheers guys
Great video and very helpful as always. Thank you for sharing again.
Your most welcome!
Do you drink the water from the bladder?
Also storing the bladder does it smell or go mouldy?
Yeh we drink it which is why i filter it in and out.

@sebwhittles7001 yeh have heard that from a few others too.
No water bill. Fantastic. Everyone is complaining it's getting expensive.
