Since you’re a fellow car enthusiast, I’m curious about your opinion on performance vs LR awd w/accel boost. I know the M3P has received performance increases as well, so it’s still faster than the LR awd w/ accel. Does the performance handle much better than the LR awd? I’m coming from an E90 bmw and love to enjoy a sporty drive, so I’m thinking the ~6K premium in the used market will be worth the cost for me. Thoughts?
@@GoFast865 the Performance vs the long range acceleration is a huge difference. I haven’t driven one with the acceleration boost LR AWD though. There probably isn’t a huge difference in handling. M3P is slightly lower and has fatter tires I believe but if you’re saving a ton with the LR then that would make sense to go with. As far as looks, I think the M3P just looks so much better than the regular models. The spoiler, red calipers, lowered. So clean. But as far as bang for the buck no problem going with LR for everyday practicality.

Hey Frankie, got my performance 3 two weeks ago, I love the piano black on the interior, I always have a microfiber towel and small spray bottle with quick detailer inside, I clean it every day along with my screen, I've always been weird like that were I clean my interior daily on all my previous cars so its not a burden on me. But I love this car, best vehicle i've ever owned.
Hey! Woah I admire your dedication! I usually clean interior once a week. I always try to go chemical free so that the "new car smell" stays. The microfiber towel works like a charm for the screen. The exterior black on the other hand is IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. What color did you go with? Completely agree: absolutely the best, most easy to live with, and QUICK car I've had. Stellar review. I picked up my MP3 last week, and it is absolutely the most fun I’ve ever had driving a car. I got black also, and had our detailer add ceramic coating when he tinted the windows. Gotta do the chrome wrap though after seeing how nice it looks like on your M3P. Zero issues with paint or panel gaps, but I agree minor issues are easy to live with given the amazing performance of this car.

I'm sure you've heard, but Model 3s are going to start shipping with all black trim as well as redesigned center console, power trunk for the recent mini refresh Tesla did. You should look online to get the pre cut vinyl for chrome delete, regardless if you install it yourself or not. My guy would have had a less difficult time putting it on that way and would have saved some fine scratches.

Thanks so much! There are some computer glitches rarely. Less and less with the updates. But all critical functions always work. Acceleration never gets old. New Z06 is gonna be nasty. But I love the whole package you get with the M3P. I don’t even drive on freeway anymore lol

Excellent review by the way. Originally I was going to go with the LR 3, and then get the Acceleration Boost download, but with the 19" wheel upgrade, and the Acceleration Boost, I may as well just get the performance 3 for only slightly more.

@@bljohn22bj No. The Camaro sounds cool and has a higher top speed, acceleration at higher speeds, but the all around package that the model 3 gives with the tech and performance, plus not paying for gas or maintenance gives it a clear advantage. If you have a Tesla at the moment, you have a piece of machine that is at the forefront of tech and auto imo. Plus it gets better with updates.

Shooting this video, I didn't have ceramic on it. However, I got the paint corrected at a local shop for $300 and then ceramic coated it myself using Chemical Bros. Hydroslick amzn.to/3saLcRq . The hydrophobic properties are insane. Water beads so easily and dirt doesn't get stuck so much on the paint.

Frankie, car looks amaze balls!! To say I'm jealous is the understatement of the year! How much did the ceramic coating and chrome delete cost? Did you do chrome delete or have it professionally done?
Scott Linkemer so before ceramic, just like wax you wanna have paint corrected. So I paid $290 for that at a shop and then coated it myself. Too expensive for shops to do. Bottle cost me like $30 from chemical guys and a few hours label. The chrome delete I had done by a tint dude. I should’ve just bought the kit online and had it done. The large sheets of 3M were tough for the guy to work with and some residual scratches were made while trying to fit it over the logo etc.
Question. I see your windows are pretty blacked out and I was trying to figure out if you did the entire panoramic roof as well. Obviously if you want the back window tinted you have to at least do the entire rear portion of the pano roof so there is no line but if you did your roof, did you do anything to the front portion of the pano roof as well? Yours looks really good and when our M3P arrives in the next couple of weeks I want to get some privacy going on inside. I see that Tesla listened since our new M3 will have black exterior trim and textured interior panels instead of the piano black that people loathed. Thanks. Great video brother!
Thanks so much man! Wish I had the stock black trim and way better center stack! But no biggie. For the tint, I had every piece of glass tinted besides the roof. The side and rear glass is 5%. The windshield is ~30% but I should've went 10%, as it's such a large piece of glass it lets tons of light in. The roof glass was already tinted heavily and I wanted to be able to see sky at night so I left it alone. Definitely consider 3M ceramic tint. It's considerably more heat repellent. It costs a little more but worth it! I'll never go back. Got my whole car done for about $450 or so. There are a lot of places that would charge much more so make sure to shop it.
Josip Ricov This version of it is not affordable. However, I’d say it’s probably the quickest, most tech advanced car you can get for about $60k in this performance trim. The base model you can get for about $40k after taxes, which is much more on par with the now average cost of a new car. Once the new batteries come out in the next 2 years or so and Tesla comes out with the new smaller, cheaper model they announced on battery day, electric cars will finally be affordable.
FRANKIE D I know all about latest Tesla stuff. I live in Europe, Tesla here is way more expensive, hopping prices will drop when GigaBerlin opens up. I would love to get M3 LR. Unfortunately here it’s +60K€ with VAT. (+70K$). You buy a flat for that money. The Tesla m3 SP is only 10K€ less. Still over 50K€ almost 60K$. BMW 3 Series is cheaper than that. Not that I want one. But Europe vs USA crazy price difference. I don’t need to point out people in Europe have higher taxes and less income in general. I would never consider smaller car or other EV.

24:10 really? You dont know any manufacturer that has perfect fit and finish? Get into almost any luxury car especially at the price point you paid for the P3D and not only will the interior be way nicer but the fit and finish on the exterior will be superior. I have a 1 year old Model 3 Perf, litany of issues 3 service center visits fixed a good amount of them but not all. It's disgusting paying $55k and having a car with the problems Tesla is known for at this point. I'm ready to dump my car and get a beater until other manufacturers catch up, 2021 already has a lot of incoming options that look desirable like the 2021 bmw i4.
Malinkadink I don’t think any manufacturer is perfect at this price. Sure they may be nicer interiors and better fit and finish, but nothing goes as quick or has the same tech at this price point. I’ve heard of these horrible problems with Teslas. I just simply haven’t had them. I’m thinking in retrospect that we’ll see the people with issues are in the minority just as with any manufacturer... there are always some lemons. We’ll have tons of options very soon from other brands. Hard to say that they’ll be able to compete with what tesla has in battery tech or capabilities though.

About 90k miles. 1 private owner. No accident. I'm kinda scared of high mileage Ev, but I wanted to give it a try since it has FSD. What do you think about this deal? By the way, for some reason, my m3p has 19-inch wheels instead of 20 inches for some reasons...
I'm selling mine for $30k with 55k miles or so (what I owe). Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. I don't hear about much breaking with the model 3 besides control arms. There's tons of model 3s on the market for super cheap with how the new ones are being dropped in price recently.
According to my Tesla app, I’ve spent about $143 in the last month on electricity. My electricity is expensive at .33 cents per KWh. It definitely went up but it’s a fraction of what Gas costs.

agree. It now has 2 additional video feeds that show when you start reversing. One from each of the side mirrors. This gives much more of a visual. Would be cool to have the birds eye option though.
What is the range you are actually getting from a day to day use ? I’m seeing somewhere around 230-260 miles, depending on how I drive. Average consumption 285-310 Wh/mi for me.
Mine is pretty bad. But I love accelerating like a damn rocket. Avg. Wh/mi is 288 and it says projected range is 198 lol. I’ve found that keeping speeds at 70 or below on freeway definitely helps conserve battery for longer drives.
20:00 - it's perfectly normal for people to have hesitation about change. The entire Tesla ecosystem is nothing but a big fat dose of change. Once people are willing to try it they will likely realize things like driving with FSD or autopilot is not only the way to go but if you choose not to go that way you're putting yourself in danger. Data doesn't lie and even when the vehicle isn't using any of the active features all of the passive features keep people several times less likely from getting into a wreck. When all the features are used, at this point, it's somewhere around eight or nine times less likely to get into a wreck. See a question should really be do you want to get in a wreck or not.

I have LADWP (billed bi monthly), live with 4 other people and have two old ass air conditioners on the roof so my electricity is always expensive. My electricity bill in Jan 1- March 1 of 2019 (before I had car) was $236 and Jan 1 - March 1 of 2020 it was $455. It definitely went up.. However, there are probably other variables like the roommates, whether I was out of state for work in 2019, etc. that would explain the increase. It's definitely cheaper than gas though.

Thanks so much! There are some computer glitches rarely. Less and less with the updates. But all critical functions always work. Acceleration never gets old. New Z06 is gonna be nasty. But I love the whole package you get with the M3P. I don’t even drive on freeway anymore lol

Excellent review by the way. Originally I was going to go with the LR 3, and then get the Acceleration Boost download, but with the 19" wheel upgrade, and the Acceleration Boost, I may as well just get the performance 3 for only slightly more.

@@bljohn22bj No. The Camaro sounds cool and has a higher top speed, acceleration at higher speeds, but the all around package that the model 3 gives with the tech and performance, plus not paying for gas or maintenance gives it a clear advantage. If you have a Tesla at the moment, you have a piece of machine that is at the forefront of tech and auto imo. Plus it gets better with updates.

Shooting this video, I didn't have ceramic on it. However, I got the paint corrected at a local shop for $300 and then ceramic coated it myself using Chemical Bros. Hydroslick amzn.to/3saLcRq . The hydrophobic properties are insane. Water beads so easily and dirt doesn't get stuck so much on the paint.

Frankie, car looks amaze balls!! To say I'm jealous is the understatement of the year! How much did the ceramic coating and chrome delete cost? Did you do chrome delete or have it professionally done?
Scott Linkemer so before ceramic, just like wax you wanna have paint corrected. So I paid $290 for that at a shop and then coated it myself. Too expensive for shops to do. Bottle cost me like $30 from chemical guys and a few hours label. The chrome delete I had done by a tint dude. I should’ve just bought the kit online and had it done. The large sheets of 3M were tough for the guy to work with and some residual scratches were made while trying to fit it over the logo etc.

Question. I see your windows are pretty blacked out and I was trying to figure out if you did the entire panoramic roof as well. Obviously if you want the back window tinted you have to at least do the entire rear portion of the pano roof so there is no line but if you did your roof, did you do anything to the front portion of the pano roof as well? Yours looks really good and when our M3P arrives in the next couple of weeks I want to get some privacy going on inside. I see that Tesla listened since our new M3 will have black exterior trim and textured interior panels instead of the piano black that people loathed. Thanks. Great video brother!
Thanks so much man! Wish I had the stock black trim and way better center stack! But no biggie. For the tint, I had every piece of glass tinted besides the roof. The side and rear glass is 5%. The windshield is ~30% but I should've went 10%, as it's such a large piece of glass it lets tons of light in. The roof glass was already tinted heavily and I wanted to be able to see sky at night so I left it alone. Definitely consider 3M ceramic tint. It's considerably more heat repellent. It costs a little more but worth it! I'll never go back. Got my whole car done for about $450 or so. There are a lot of places that would charge much more so make sure to shop it.
Only problem I see is the price. Not affordable.
Josip Ricov This version of it is not affordable. However, I’d say it’s probably the quickest, most tech advanced car you can get for about $60k in this performance trim. The base model you can get for about $40k after taxes, which is much more on par with the now average cost of a new car. Once the new batteries come out in the next 2 years or so and Tesla comes out with the new smaller, cheaper model they announced on battery day, electric cars will finally be affordable.
FRANKIE D I know all about latest Tesla stuff. I live in Europe, Tesla here is way more expensive, hopping prices will drop when GigaBerlin opens up. I would love to get M3 LR. Unfortunately here it’s +60K€ with VAT. (+70K$). You buy a flat for that money. The Tesla m3 SP is only 10K€ less. Still over 50K€ almost 60K$. BMW 3 Series is cheaper than that. Not that I want one. But Europe vs USA crazy price difference. I don’t need to point out people in Europe have higher taxes and less income in general. I would never consider smaller car or other EV.

This is a 2020. I believe the 2021 models had power trunk, new center console, different steering wheel etc.

Good ear haha. It's a Warzone sound effect. I think it's some sort of special item pick up. Sorry I can't be more specific. I downloaded all of the SFX for free online after doing a google search.

24:10 really? You dont know any manufacturer that has perfect fit and finish? Get into almost any luxury car especially at the price point you paid for the P3D and not only will the interior be way nicer but the fit and finish on the exterior will be superior. I have a 1 year old Model 3 Perf, litany of issues 3 service center visits fixed a good amount of them but not all. It's disgusting paying $55k and having a car with the problems Tesla is known for at this point. I'm ready to dump my car and get a beater until other manufacturers catch up, 2021 already has a lot of incoming options that look desirable like the 2021 bmw i4.
Malinkadink I don’t think any manufacturer is perfect at this price. Sure they may be nicer interiors and better fit and finish, but nothing goes as quick or has the same tech at this price point. I’ve heard of these horrible problems with Teslas. I just simply haven’t had them. I’m thinking in retrospect that we’ll see the people with issues are in the minority just as with any manufacturer... there are always some lemons. We’ll have tons of options very soon from other brands. Hard to say that they’ll be able to compete with what tesla has in battery tech or capabilities though.
Chrome makes for a more luxurious feel to the car. Chrome delete makes it Kia-like

Bro.. Quick question. I just bought 2020 model 3 performance with FSD for $20k(after $4k used ev credit) at my local tesla dealership. Obviously, it has pretty high miles on it. About 90k miles. 1 private owner. No accident. I'm kinda scared of high mileage Ev, but I wanted to give it a try since it has FSD. What do you think about this deal? By the way, for some reason, my m3p has 19-inch wheels instead of 20 inches for some reasons...
I'm selling mine for $30k with 55k miles or so (what I owe). Sounds like you got a pretty good deal. I don't hear about much breaking with the model 3 besides control arms. There's tons of model 3s on the market for super cheap with how the new ones are being dropped in price recently.

How much did your electric bill go up after charging at your house?
According to my Tesla app, I’ve spent about $143 in the last month on electricity. My electricity is expensive at .33 cents per KWh. It definitely went up but it’s a fraction of what Gas costs.

agree. It now has 2 additional video feeds that show when you start reversing. One from each of the side mirrors. This gives much more of a visual. Would be cool to have the birds eye option though.

What is the range you are actually getting from a day to day use ? I’m seeing somewhere around 230-260 miles, depending on how I drive. Average consumption 285-310 Wh/mi for me.
Mine is pretty bad. But I love accelerating like a damn rocket. Avg. Wh/mi is 288 and it says projected range is 198 lol. I’ve found that keeping speeds at 70 or below on freeway definitely helps conserve battery for longer drives.

20:00 - it's perfectly normal for people to have hesitation about change. The entire Tesla ecosystem is nothing but a big fat dose of change. Once people are willing to try it they will likely realize things like driving with FSD or autopilot is not only the way to go but if you choose not to go that way you're putting yourself in danger. Data doesn't lie and even when the vehicle isn't using any of the active features all of the passive features keep people several times less likely from getting into a wreck. When all the features are used, at this point, it's somewhere around eight or nine times less likely to get into a wreck. See a question should really be do you want to get in a wreck or not.
Agree it’s safer than the average distracted driver for sure. I use it every day and will not have car w/o it now.

I have LADWP (billed bi monthly), live with 4 other people and have two old ass air conditioners on the roof so my electricity is always expensive. My electricity bill in Jan 1- March 1 of 2019 (before I had car) was $236 and Jan 1 - March 1 of 2020 it was $455. It definitely went up.. However, there are probably other variables like the roommates, whether I was out of state for work in 2019, etc. that would explain the increase. It's definitely cheaper than gas though.
