The Arananet "Etarikashikoshi" for X68000 is back on pre order (it adds 8mb ram and has a MIDI board). I was waiting and waiting for aje to do another run of his one but this has the same functionality.
Had a X68 a few years back, that’s a wonderful piece of hardware. Had a big surprise when I booted Drakkhen to see that English was available on the Japanese discs. Also, the disc slots noise is lovely ❤ Nice piece of gear you got here, have fun!
In the first 30 seconds I switched between "this guy sounds Irish" and "this guy sounds French" at least 5 times. Love the X68000! Wanted to pick one up on a trip to Tokyo a couple of years ago, before realising how expensive (and heavy) it would be.
Phenomenal work. I'd get intimidated by trying to tinker with something like this although luckily it doesn't seem to have too many problems. She cleaned up very nicely. I wish someone would make a replica case for me to build a regular PC in.
I don't think I've ever even seen an x68000 in-person. It still looks great. One of the beefiest looking computer designs. I quite like the look of the Panasonic FZ-1 3DO as well. It looked "mean" in 1994. lol
Please complete this series, i have had one of these on my to do list for a while. Every so oftern it look up restore guides but im a bit unclear where it come to the replacement HDD and the software set-up. Looking forward to that part
Those PSU's are worth restoring. All they need is new quality caps and zener replaced and It would last another 30 years+. I’m pretty sure it would outlast that pico.
@@8bitmanshed I am about to restore this exact model myself. I plan to recap the original psu. What I've read is that the original power supplies always fail since they were constantly powered on because of the soft power switch. I'm assuming if the supply is recapped and you completely cut the power using the toggle switch in the back it should last long like a typical og power supply. What do you think?
Your sponsor spots offend me deeply. I demand to hear a high-pitched Dub-in-a-box puppet screeching PCBWay. #BringBackBOSCO 🙂(Great vid, as always. Well done to you)

The state that machine was in externally, wow. Glad you are getting it back to the beauty it should be and working again!

Can't wait to see you restore a x68000 using only tradition folk instruments.
Contracts man, I love these machines. Enjoy!

How did you manage to remove the 69 mhz crystal? , I've been trying on my x68000 but the through holes wont clear of solder properly.

Squeek squeek ...like the dog should be an extra Ollie

Please get a tripod, the motion sickness.
said it before, if i had to use a tripod and setup shots there'll be no videos or a channel . this is a budget hand held tech vlog channel.
