Okay. So, this is probably my favorite puzzle so far. Even beats the $50k, multi-puzzle, connected "future Chris" ones. This was so well done. The craftsmanship, the story. The discovery. It really was amazing!
Agreed! Have seen all his puzzles... This one has a perfect combination of riddles and unusual pieces that with together to find the solve so that it doesn't seem finished until you actually get there
im with you on this one, the design perfectly complementing the discovery is amazing, wish i could wipe my memory of this video and have it in my hands 🤣
Honestly, needing to reassemble the map, and then use the spyglass to reveal which squares on it are the clues to the combination lock, is just such a really cool mechanic to the puzzle.
Much like a rubics cube, there is a formula to solving slider puzzles. Once you understand it they are quite simple to solve, I used to take a slider puzzle to school back in the day and challenge people that no matter how they mixed it up I could solve it in under a minute. It was a basic 9x9 but the actual size is irrelevant. It just takes longer due to physical size.
@@Gigaheart I'm not much of a fan of them myself, but in this case I think that the way it was used makes it far more interesting than it would otherwise have been.
@@KefkeWren Could have done the same with grid lined jig saw pieces, IMO. It didn't have to be a slider. I wonder how long it took Chris to solve that slider.

Amazing puzzle - I've watched many of these solves on this channel, and the fact this is truly, fully mechanical and not a "circuit board in a wooden box" is just amazing. So many people just shortcut with sensors and solenoids but to see real mechanical puzzles is just awesome. Love the "safe" dial mechanic.
Dude, this puzzle maker is astounding! I love the type of puzzles they chose. The Sliding Puzzle mixed with the periscope was so clever. Thanks for showing us!

I think this is one of the best puzzles you have done. Such quality and clever. Mayb use instead for the wooden sliding puzzle blocks an imitation ivory material so it looks like whale bone and will slide better, apart from that I thought it was excellent. 5*
This puzzle was spectacular, so well crafted, incorporated such a variety of puzzles into one. My hats off to Garrett, deffinitly do not underestimate the talent you have at puzzle making. In my honest opinion I believe this is worth more than some of the super expensive puzzles that Chris has purchased.
I agree. If this is a first work, then it's one heck of a calling card. He can easily ask $50k for one-of commissioned boxes like that. Of course, he'd have to come up with a new story, perhaps variations on the mechanisms and sequence, looks etc. That's exactly why those unique puzzles cost so much: it takes the better part of a year to make it from thought to product. If "Garrett" reads this: strike the iron when it's hot. You got plugged here, which means that most of the potential initial clients probably will see it in the next couple of weeks. Once you've done a handful of boxes, people will come knocking for more. Time to quit the day job and make that passion into your main thing!
Thanks! This did take a little over a year to create from concept to full build. However, I worked slow and took a few months off not working on it at all. The goal was to create a more escape room style box vs puzzle box. After seeing all the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I have already begun concepts for a new story / build. Hopefully I can create something that is equally enjoyed. I do want to give a lot of credit to Chris for showcasing it. His production value is amazing.
